Best review, I trust your review more than anyone else since you guys ACTUALLY take Your time and find interest . Not every game needs super flashy or high action to be amazing
Good review and fair. I’m picking it up and I enjoyed the demo but it will be awhile with all the games coming out. Not a fan of difficulty spikes but overall seems fun.
yea, i think the cast really carries this one.
Gotta skip this one for right now. Going to get triangle strategy.
Yea I ponied up for Triangle Strat, so I'm waiting on sale for this one
I'm a big fan of FuRyu and how experimental their games are.
I loved The Alliance Alive and Caligula 2.
So I'm gonna give it a try.
I played the demo and although it's far from perfect it isn't as terrible as some people say. They definitely tried lots of new things that I can understand typical jrpg fans wouldn't like but there's a solid game here and the music is great! This game isn't going to get great scores but I will check it out.
...
I just learned the person who made the music for Caligula 2 did the music (not including the licensed music in the game).
You can back out of phone battles btw. During initial setup... You can end battle.
Seems like it might be a fun one. Really interested in the mysteries of the plot, as well as the music and art.
Woh a jrpg where the main character has amnesia? Who else preordered the limited edition without knowing about the game?
I am so excited for this.
NP is quick again pumping out reviews I need!
haha, we back baby!
I liked the demo so I'm gonna be picking it up. Thanks for the review.
I was about to cancel my pre-order cuz of the bad feedback of the demo ( that I didn't try for my myself, I don't like demo.. ) but thanks to your positive review I will keep it :)
..
rofl, sellouts told you that its good game so you gona listen to them :DDDDD
wtf 🤣
how mental are you? these morons are giving EVERY SINGLE GAME GOOD REVIEW.
there are as trustworthy as snake in middle of the desert.
Nice review. I played and beat the Demo. This game definitely intrigued me enough to buy and give it a go. Probably a Sleeper hit of the year. 🔥
that sounds like most FurYu developed games.
thanks for the review sir, very detailed
Went to gamestop, saw a physical copy, i was close to buying til i found out theres a demo, tried the demo, loved it, i bought the physical deluxe edition..very happy
Someone just told me to check out this game, very much Interested
I just pre-ordered this and it looks like a good RPG
I love your reviews:)
Thanks :)
I like the game. Combat isn't bad and story is good.
Keep the efforts up bro im just a guy but al be honest i lookef up monark reviews and out the list i seen your name wasnt even a choice brother keep up the grind
This is the first decent review I've seen for this game. All the others have been mostly negative.
I agree 100%, it seems if you are playing this game from the Nintendo Switch or the base PS4, you’re gonna have a bad time due to the performance issues. Hopefully it gets patched up for those respective platforms as I want this game to succeed & be enjoyed in all platforms.
Ya pixels always have fair review that's why I like watching them. Its not full pro their still cons they mention but it's not like they are going "omg this game is garbage don't buy" they go at it pretty fairly.
@@zerokura appreciate you
we try to give multiple perspectives.
@@zerokura 8/10 -9/10 to every garbage game ever,is FAIR REVIEW? 😂
Dude the ost is edgy fun
"If you want to skip your turn you caan always use the defer option, though of course if you defer too often your characters go mad."
... Of course ... That makes perfect sense 🙄
Cool cause some dude just posted saying it runs like shit on ps4 this is one of my most anticipated thank you
i heard this too. We went out of way to ensure a PS5 code ll
track playing on the background please?
That seems like a high number for all of those negative dings 😂 it makes me pause and not want to pick this one up
Couldn't find the demo. Is it only on the Japanese eShop? Pre-ordered the limited edition because I love Atlus games and that same team made the game.
It's on the American eshop. I have it anyway
@@chr1s415 I got it now. I had to go to nintendo website to get it. Not the eShop.
Nice review-i ended up seeing this game on sale, but probably going to avoid.
another amnesia story? i mean this is seriously getting rididuclous isn't it?
Does the protagonist have a Canon name?
Personally I'm very mixed with Monark.
I've been anticipating it for months just from the artsyle and was looking forward to what the game had in stall. Especially from former SMT/Persona devs.
But, I feel kinda let down. And I wasn't even expecting anything.
The combat system feels bland to me, its near identical to Caligula Effect minus the ability to plan ahead with all the penalties.
Yes, it's unique to a degree but I don't find it fun. More confusingly frustrating trying to get the hang of the mechanics that punishes you with every move you do wrong.
The art style that drew me in didn't translate well with the 3D models. And is again similar to Caligula Effect.
And again with Caligula Effect, the whole premise and exploration of the school feels ripped right out of Caligula Effect.
Now, Caligula Effect is not one of my favourite games. Haven't even finished it and can be monotonously boring at times but it's strangely addicting.
But I can not for the life of me not see the similarities.
Both confined to a school with no way out (Caligula Effect has more locations outside of school but still
confined in a space).
You run/walk around looking for clues, talking to students or get in a battle or two.
Certain people have a level of power/control over the space that you fight against in order to weaken the area.
Students are normal until their stress/MAD levels reaches max and becomes part of the space in some shape or form.
Monark is literally Caligula Effect just greyer.
I want to love Monark, I really do.
But it's just not letting me.
The story is uninteresting, the combat is uninteresting, the graphics is uninteresting, the world is uninteresting and I could care less about the characters.
It's just so... Boring.
Which is sad to me.
All those times I would check the eshop to see if there's a release day.
Looking forward to explore a new world and story with amazing characters.
Instead I found Caligula Effect clone.
If I hadn't played Caligula Effect, I wonder if I would've liked the game more. I only got the game because it was on offer and I wanted to play a rpg while I waited for Monark to come out.
Just a shame
game does seem interesting but... elden ring is coming out tomorrow soooo.... yeahhhh
Unfortunately true
Similar character issue to Disgaea, unfortunate.
Great game.
I played the demo on the Switch, and it was horribly pixelated with muddy textures.
I liked the gameplay and plan on buying the gameplay, but I will not play it on the Switch.
PS5 for this game my dude
The ps4 version has performance issues
Good review this is a pass for me
after having played through a bit more of this: I strongly urge anyone who is interested in this game to pick up Lost Dimension instead. not because Monark is a bad game, but it is extremely similair to that game, which is cheaper. Weaker story, characters and gameplay. it has better graphics and music, though. And then returning to consider if you like these sort of games enough(since there's a similair gameplay loop, however, lost dimension has a tratior-mechanic and social deduction game rather than a "find the phone" thing. every member also gains xp per fight rather than it just being your main-party so grinding isn't that much of an issue). after playing lost dimension, going into this game is a lot less grating, cuz you sort of know the combat system well enough to plan around stuff pre-emptively, even like, playing blind. lost dimension is also by furyu and on steam for like 25 euro-ish so it's a lot cheaper as-well
Seems like a chore
Oh good, another RPG with amnesia. FFS people, come up with something in a story new that doesn't involve something now more common than the term "turn based".
this game sounds like it sucks. seems like it has nothing good to offer but cool persona/shin megami style art.
Who is the main character apart from nameless protagonist and where are all the men, everyone looks like a woman in this game. Creepy.
heard this game has a really transphobic side quest. that makes me so upset + not wanna check it out
