This was composed by two Germans, Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb for the 1982 Highland Games in Germany. As a Scotsman i thank you very much for giving us such a wonderful composition.💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙🏴💙
Heard this song for the first time at a funeral of a firefighter in Brussels Belgium. A lone firefighter with a bagpipe walked in front of his colleagues carrying their fallen brother whilst playing highland cathedral. The sound went through bone and spine and I have never forgotten about it ever since.
It makes no difference who has written this wonderful piece of music. The words can only inspire and help bind a nation, it looks forward and not backwards !!! a national anthem that anyone would be proud to stand up for and the sooner it becomes Scotlands national anthem the better.
And billie connolys banana song..lol…no it’s a great tune, but yea cannae beat oh flower of Scotland, just go to Murrayfield and see the song played when we face England, now that’s a passion for you.

This is the most magnificent piece of music I have ever heard. In the first occasion I burst into tears, something I'd never experienced before. I play it at least once a day as apart from the music, the sight of my beloved pipes, drms, uniforms and Edinburgh Castle is breath taking, but I am reduced to tears every time, tears of sheer joy. Thank you.
