Beware of these things buying a Roxor.

- the Roxor is simple and beautiful but beware of these things. you don't have much factory or dealership help. face book groups are your best friend. consider buying a jeep you can get parts and people will work on them. I love my roxor but have been abandoned and promises of things not delivered after buying. buyers beware. Ac has been a nightmare but the dealership told me they could get it when I bought it. beware of these things.
Only if FIAT stopped suing Mahindra for apparently "copying JEEP" (They didn't, they legally built the Willis jeep during WW2 and they continue to build the closest designs to this day), You could have a proper road legal strongly built Mahindra Thar that is the true spiritual successor of the JEEP CJ.
Very well said 👏
Jeep lawsuit with Mahindra had nothing to do with roxors (or importing thars) being street legal... There will never be, and Mahindra has no plans to ever attempt it. The reason they aren't, is because neither the roxar or that are built to US regulations, and Mahindra wouldn't be able to import them as sideXside/farm equipment if they did. They would become an auto manufacturer and importer. The liability alone would probably cost them more than they will ever make on sales in the US. They would also have to spend millions and millions in national institute of highway safety standards testing, and many parts of the vehicle would have to be redesigned and rebuilt.
Jeep/Fiat also won their lawsuit because Mahindra couldn't actually product any such contract... Jeep didn't argue that they at one time had one, just that it wasn't still applicable. They also only wanted them to stop making their likeness... In the grand picture, Jeep was pretty good about it. Because realistically, they probably could have completely stopped US sales altogether.
@@RIPPER334no Mahindra had the lisence to manufacture the Willy's jeep in India and Jeep had the lisence for USA.....then Jeep wanted to sell the wrangler in India so they made a deal with Mahindra that wrangler could be sold in India and Mahindra can do the same in USA but there's catch apparently they didn't give rights to Mahindra for the front grill . So Mahindra can't make tht grill in USA
@@Itachi_Uchia1 Mahindra was licensed by the US Army the actual owner of the original Jeep Design since 1947. There was no agreement for India or USA they were licensed. Then the new owners of the modern jeep talked a judge into saying that this non street legal old school vehicle caused confusion in the market with a modern JK!... Started with Grill... then fenders, then even the entire tub before courts finally said "enough"...
Jeep needs to stop making shitty vehicles before they start whining
I just learned about the Roxor about 10 minutes ago and came across your video. A/C is no big issue. I would suggest you find car friends to hang out with. :) I build custom cars for a living. With a 1 minute look at the A/C compressor, I could put A/C and heat in these things in an hour. The compressor is a Chevy 4.3L compressor and Vintage actually sells the bracket that they are not telling you about. I could have heat and A/C in that thing for $700 and installed in a day.
Good to know. Maybe you should get some parts and start making some money with roxor. It took me a year to find out the parts ran 1,400 . Thanks for the message.
@@Roxor_44 I am not sure of the market in my area. I had never heard of these before your video so I will check that out. Good way to make some money if so! Thanks
Bro ur Roxie looks amazing that car vl give u best vintage value
If you don't laugh, I will tell you how I fixed my air conditioning problem on my roxor. I bought a 5000 btu portable air conditioner from Wal-Mart for 230.00 this model fits between the seats and slightly behind. I removed the spare tire and put it on the floor. Then I bought a truckers step and mounted it on the tail gate. I put my 2000 watt generator on the step. The exhaust flex hose from the ac I routed out the back window.
Upgrading a jeep isn’t cheap either. Also, I feel that they made jeeps unnecessary annoying to work on so the average “do it yourselfer” will just take it to the dealership for repair. I’ve never worked on a Mahindra but if repairing it is more straight forward, I wouldn’t mind owning one.
@NoSenatorson the basics of maintenance is amazing easy. If driver isn't trashing it the 2.5 should last a long time. Simple parts like tie rod ends are the same as the cj. Wheel bearings you can match up at any Napa auto. Even the oil filter can be found.
Don't give up my friend I own one to and love mine as well! Every thing you say is right on.
Hang in there. I'm moving to Arizona to, maybe if we both stay the cores one day we'll "Get Her Done" God Bless!
Please stay in contact what part of Arizona are you moving to? It would be great to meet you.
Get those spares shipped from india, there's plenty available and would still cost you cheaper including shipping
Then y didn’t you get ac from the beginning 🤯🤯
@user-xx9xh3gz7o they only come on the all weather package from roxor. I was able to get one installed and it's great. The all weather model has a garbage cab and plastic doors it also is 10k more expensive this is why I didn't get one with it in it.
They sell a 12v ac.
@@rinardfamily I got a factory ac shortly after the video. Thanks for the support
I got all excited for a Roxor till I saw the price with enclosure, A/C and street legal. It would cost as much as our new VW SUV. 15K is what it is worth or I am buying a regular street legal Jeep. I'm old and live in Florida so A/C is a must. Hell, their zero turn mowers have A/C
So I wasn’t paying attention the first time I saw your video but this time I was listening and totally understand where you’re coming from. I spent $22,000 on a 2022 model winterized because of this video and I never got it off the property of the dealership And I’ve had leak issues from the heater core and other hoses that weren’t tightened down. There was no pre-delivery inspection by the dealership so now I’ve been without the rockstar for almost 3 weeks and they cashed my check and the engine has 10 hours on the engine and they refuse to do the Mahindra required maintenance. It has been a real pain in the ass with these ATV company side-by-side affiliations my local Jon 🤚Dee
I can take some pictures of my compressor. With the way it’s mounted it would be really easy to mount almost any compressor. I did talk to vintage air a while back and found the compressor used in these. I can try to dig it up if you want
Thanks for listening and any information. Roxor_44 on Instagram.
Still Willing To By One And I'am A Jeep Nut.
But Thanks For The Information, As I Will Get The Fully Equipment Roxor With AC & Heat.
Great choice. Avoid the issue I have. Ty
Did Arizona give you registration and license plate? If not, how did you take it all the way to Southern California? Just curious, as I’m looking into dirt legal to do all the heavy, lifting a.k.a. paperwork.
Yes licensed and registered. Some states are legal some are not.
Are they road legal?
In 22 states yes ,but not on interstate .
Oh my goodness. I grew up in Az with a CJ7. Guess what summertime doors and top comes off. Bikini top and your good. I now have a 2020 Roxor and ac not needed. All of these luxuries u pay for. There are options for an Ac, heck plenty of options for these awesome machines. Man up and enjoy
I found a ac unit and I'm excited. I've managed for the summer last year. 🙌
I would just find someone that has a roxor with ac already. Check out their unit to find out part information.
I found one .
Dealers are still trying to pull that. I live up in Wyoming and don't need it but figured I would ask after watching countless videos like this. Sure enough, I was told I could totally add AC later on. The only aftermarket AC I can easily find is Diesel Freaks roof mounted unit.
Yeah I'm pretty sure wade got that idea from a conversation we had. I did find factory ac at a dealership in old inventory. You can buy ac from India 2,400 usd.
Finding a way to make them street legal is another big hassle in states like Texas. Yes it can be done, but the hassle factor needs to be considered. Just an opinion.
Funny idea since that has a Mahindra diesel engine in it and they do make cab tractors couldn't you Source the air conditioning unit out of one of their tractors that has that same engine could be that that's the same air conditioning pump you need for what you're wanting to do
I found one from vintage air . inventory in a dealership that was no longer selling roxor. I wanted it correct and it took over a year of searching. Thanks for watching 👀
@@Roxor_44 you're welcome you got some cool videos
I'll be driving from Arizona to Morgantown West Virginia by June. I'll be posting a new video this week. Thanks for the support.
@@Roxor_44 cool I live next door to Virginia I'm in Ohio safe travels
If only you could get a jeep that was the same width as a roxor.
needs the old window vents
I had that feeling when I bought mine a month ago, it didn’t surprise me. I surf the internet got on a Roxor forum and came to the conclusion that that was the case but still went a head and bought it. Trying to other filters was a nightmare
I’m confused, you said you daily drive it but aren’t these side by sides and not on road vehicles?
Each state laws are different. Arizona allows side-by-side to drive on the roads. Nothing confusing.
Arizona allows side by sides to be registered on road and off road. California allows it wearing a helmet ect. Each state is different.
Golly how did the WW II vets survive?
Great information! I was unaware of the a/c issue…
I can say accessories for this thing are expensive; I am looking to fit a cj back seat in mine.
Keep up the good videos brother 👍
A cj seat will be great and easy to install. I appreciate you watching 👀.
One of the oldest engines in India, why not search for parts in India? Ship it
Thanks for the message. I enjoy learning about the Mahindra Roxor and the thar
What kind of mpg are u getting?
28 hwy at 65mph 33mpg 45mph or less
Do they make a cab that keeps the back open I’m thinking about buying one this summer
There are many options aftermarket wise
@@Roxor_44 for what they want for a roxox it’s just not worth it now that the new ones are kinda ugly and the price is about the same as a north start ranger for anything with a cab I might try a used one but I know they wouldn’t be as fun off road as a ranger
Why don't Roxor cars have license plates?
Arizona is a rear plate state
Thanks for the warning on how the dealer manipulates things.
Very welcome it's sad because the roxor is amazing fun.
@@Roxor_44 Especially because of the great little diesel engine! I've been very interested.
Thx for the video 🤙🏻😎
Hope you're doing well thanks for the support
Im getting a full cab. I HAVE TO HAVE A/C
Did you find Ac? I found one after a year long search. Good luck
Use an electric compressor, many companies make one.
I agree about parts and service. Like you I love my Roxor but I should have bought a Jeep
I'm glad you understand. Some don't get it
@@Roxor_44 Oh I get it. My speedometer needs fixed and I'm not looking forward to waiting on that. I called the manufacturer and no help. I must go through Mahindra
Deberían ponerse las pilas si le asen unos pocos rreajustes y las traen a latino américa apuesto que venden unas 10000 unidades x año
I would have thrown an icy breeze in with my drinks way before. Ac and cheaper than a yeti
I did just that. I used a icy breeze. But now after a year of searching I found a Ac unit and will be installing it soon. . Thanks for the support 🙏.
Just buy a jeep😊
The front looks horrible
That's your opinion Thank for the crappy comment lol
Buy from India
ye american indian brand ko aage badta hua kabhi nhi dekh sakte hai
Street Legal kardo US Govt yea Model Dhara dhar bikri hoga

That's a great story my fellow roxor owner. I did finally get a vintage air old stock from Oklahoma.
