when backpedaling I feel like im not gaining ground as fast as I want to. Any tips to improve my back pedal? Rather small and quick steps while backpedaling or rather larger steps to gain more ground?
Pablo, speed in your pedal comes from contact with the ground. Quick steps > long steps. Watch this video. I think it will help you: ua-cam.com/video/GrUgVO7SKvU/v-deo.html
If you're new to playing the position, keep your eyes on your man until you are in good enough position to look for the ball. So for instance, the WR is running a fade or go route. You keep your eyes on him until you can get to his hip. When he looks for the ball, you look for the ball. I hope this answers your question

I've got a question. As a corner, do u have to look back at the quarterback in man coverage or can u just watch the recievers eyes?
