As always thanks for the great content. One thing I've found very impressive about your play is how you're very good at extracting thin value, overfolding to certain player types when you have the odds to call, and getting paid the max when you have the nuts. It's rare for a player to have 1 or 2 of these traits, but to have all 3 consistently is why you will always be a crusher. Thanks for explaining your thought process and how you construct your range, and always look at a hand from a bluff perspective as well. You've helped improve my game a ton.
After rewatching, i dont understand the A7dd river fold. Tight player closing action out if the BB could be suited Kx, Qx and Jx combos (and the 66/44). The Kx would prob be the x-raise flop right? And small c-bet turn to feel out a flush? If he thinks you only have 1 diamond and miss the river then the jam seems resonable. Given that youre ahead of most of the Kx, isnt 3:1 the right price to call here?
Just from watching him play up to that point, he was so snug no bluffs, an hadn't raised once before that. On the flop I gave him a few flush draw combos, 66, 44, K6s, and K4s. Once the small bet on the turn, I really discounted most of them. That tiny bet is almost always a check when they make the flush. Tbh, even if he did have a smaller flush there, it may have set him up to think I'm very tight and bluff off 2k in a later pot
Against old live shitters they only have sets and 87dd when they raise the flop. Good fold by Sam though it’s always so hard to make it in the actual spot.
So on the Ad7d nut flush fold…I had to rewatch a few times because at first I was completely confused. Could you explain what hands you were thinking he could have? My thoughts are KK, Kx boats and that’s it right? I’d have a hard time folding this, nice play hopefully
Flop was K64 I think, so K6s K4s, but mostly worried about sets. If he turned the flush, I reckon we would've seen a check, or a big bet. Seeing this tiny bet, followed by a large one and the fact that he hadn't thrown in a single raise postflop up to that point had alarm bells going off.
8:55 When he says "you're good" there, I wouldn't show unless he shows first, especially after that A7 hand. E: And you let him do it again on the main hand of the video? If he wants to muck and concede the pot, let him. If he wants to see your cards, he has to show in both those spots. It's not rude, or angling or anything like that.
Apologizing after backdooring a flush, after being in for 8k in a 2/5 game, and getting shown a backdoor straight flush, I might just jump off the top of the Wynn
@BS , Hey I just found your channel cool seeing someone else from Vancouver who plays poker and Vlogs, I usually play 1-3/2-5 at Grandvilla in Burnaby I’ll sub and follow good luck 🤞
I made a $400 hero call the other day in a similar situation. He also insta-mucked, so I didn't even show my hand. Great call; hope it felt at least 5x as great as mine!! =)
When you had the QdTd did the opp show his hand? I’m guessing 57d, 78d, maybe A5d but definitely heavy on that 78. It sucks it’s probably the only time your all in would’ve been called and got you another $760
Would you ever mind talking about loving in Canada, what do you do for a living or how is it for someone wanting to move there from the US? Sorry, kinda odd but thought I'd ask. Thanks.
I would also be interested in what his career is. Something flexible I'm sure since hes been on the road well over a month, maybe with the option to work remotely or something like that but honestly with 5-10 hour sessions almost daily I would wager he quit his day job with a healthy savings. Hes just wayy too good to not do this shit full time.
I can only speak for Vancouver, but it's a really great city, we have seasons, beaches, mountains, transit isn't terrible, really good food all over town at reasonable prices, housing costs are alarmingly high so is gas, but besides those two, everything else is cheaper than the west coast of the States. I'm a Realtor back home, taking the winter off right now, and I'll be back for the Spring season!
Enjoy the vlog. Just an observation but some of the hands you break down and listening to hands you discount your opponent having seems more from knowing what they had than good reasons to discount from their range. I would just ask yourself can you really justify discounting such and such hands during the breakdown if you didn't know what they had?
I try my best to explain my thought process as it happened in game, but a lot of the hands I discount is just more intuition from observing how they played previous hands. There are many spots where I'm wrong and I discounted x part of my opponent's range and they just had it.
I can't believe that dude stayed at the table if he's getting run over. You're in Vegas! seat change, table change, casino change! No way I keep playing at that table!
Nothin really, they crush the low stack with precision. I can’t lie, some of those guys are good . I do alright mostly, playing in tournaments. I get lucky once in a while playing 1-3 low stacked.
@@BluffaloSam Yeah I get it, you guys had a bit of a dynamic going on so I’m sure you were right most of the time. Just unfortunate he had a huge hand this time.
Also minor editing suggestion; can you put the screen of you talking in the upper right hand corner so it doesnt block the preflop graphics at times. Its a small thing, but would overall give the video a much cleaner look.
I actually like seeing you talk about the hands, adds a little more visual entertainment and you’re very expressive. Just my opinion though. That Canadian positivity breaths life into the poker vlog world.
@Railjamfrontflip I'll see the response from the videos, and then maybe move it around. Top right really blocked out quite a bit of the "action" when I tried it the first time
Nice call. What would he really be repping there to go for such value against your range? Doesn't make sense, so definitely a nice call and I would have sigh called myself. K is also great scare card on the board, so perfect bluff card. If he had AK, just seems too hard to get that much value on that board and I doubt AQ overbet 2x jams K river given the way played. Nice call, thanks for sharing. Good hand for review :)
Tough to assign a thought process like that, it was like 3 or 4 seconds before he 2x overbet shoved. That's a lot of thoughts in 3-4 seconds, it was straight up street poker at that point!
Damn you’re first hand history is bad , you’re gonna have a nice little learning curve playing poker, don’t expect you to last tho until you study more.

ak, kq, kj, k10,k9 would all jam, which he beats, as well as smaller flushes....its a call all day, hes winning that hand almost every time

One question - For $320, I would’ve called the A7s hand. What do you think the villain had?
K6s K4s 66 or 44 ofc. Say hi if you see me!

No high hands at the Wynn
