Art by me question how hard do you have to Press down on the white charcoal pencils I can’t get my ones to work or when the do they look gray love that open round one .
There's always a chance of getting gray. If you try to put the white charcoal where there's graphite blended in it will be difficult to get enough white charcoal down. When you do blend, use a clean paper stump or tortillon and gently blend just to soften the white charcoal and encourage it into paper where there is no charcoal. If you pick up graphite on the stump/tortillon, then use fine sandpaper to clean the tip. I find that the less you blend the white charcoal the less likely it is to become gray. I hope that helps.
