I feel like I remember Jools commenting on how his voice reminds him of Smokey Robinson, and Ben replying something like it was the first song his uncle taught him. I don't know if I'm misremembering.
He stopped the doing r and b and hip hop blends which are his most successful features and records which made him so unique at the time as he fused so many genres into one another and then he did a soundtrack for a movie but I think there was a much less of an artistic approach and a few features here and there and then pretty much just stopped music. I don’t think he ever really capitalised properly on the momentum he had all too well tbh
Handsome man, I must say… But honestly, after hearing him sing, I’m quite surprised at how different his speaking voice is. It’s much more lower and a bit more gravelly than his singing voice…it’s just so different…
Ben Drew: Best artist from the last 20 years
Great singer and rapper and actor, always been a favorite of mine
Très belle chanson avec différents rythmes c'est magnifique.
Reminiscing here, remember seeing this live! Miss his old stuff like kids and no mo eatin’ though
Matt O'Leary __ Ah Defamation was his best album I find.
