regardless of what some may got wrong about what skull and bones was supose to be,it was clear that ubisoft wanted to take advantage of black flag success, and yes skull and bones is a pirate game missing half of what makes being a pirate fun, it doesn't matter what the devs showed back when they first announced the game, skull and bones was announced as a multiplayer pirate game and what pirates do? they attack other ships and board them and they bury their treasure on islands and will hunt other pirates treasures, seems like black flag still to this day offers a more complete experience of being a pirate
And which pirate kill single handly all enemys on a ship? Its a multiplayer game, not singeplayer, the game AND other Ships dont Pause because you boarding a ship, its so not needed 😂
@DerJohnYT ah the coping, maybe what wasn't needed was multiplayer in the first place black flag is still one of the best pirate games all this years later lol, as for wich pirate kills every one single handidly? an assassin or practically every pirate who was the main character in a pirate movie lol, but i guess you are right skull and bones doesn't need that why would anyone that wants to play as pirate get skull and bones when they already have or can get black flag instead
@@DerJohnYT Homie at the end of the day it is a video game this is the same type of argument I hear when people were complaining about Battlefield 1 not having female characters despite the game taking place in WW 1. But love to bring up the fact well the game doesn't have you sit in a trench for a year so who cares about historical accuracy.
The mechanics people wanted from this game just very simply wouldn't be near impossible to work. The game would never come out if that were the case. They took what made black flag great which was the naval combat and made its own IP with its own identity and own ideas. But ya know how dare they do that
Back in the days, as a MMORPG player, when I played black flag, I spent 90% of my game time on the ship. I really enjoyed AC but the ship part was my favorite part. Then, all I wished was a MMORPG only based on the ship gameplay of black flag. When Skull and Bones was announced, I was so hyped because all I imagined was produced in this exact game. I've played both beta, and I'd say, the game has 90% of everything I expected for a merge between MMO & the ship gameplay. I really enjoy the game as it is, I like the graphics and sound design, I like the gameplay, the quest, the fights etc, but I have some hopes about other things, for once the game is out The only critics I have regarding the game are : -No guild system, and guild content that could go along this -Not much pvp/arena activity (maybe late game activity) -No rankings, I'd like to grind for infamy, or most forts plundered, most world event overtaken etc
The best game for that is "Sea of Conquest." Unfortunately, it's a mobile title. But, it has all the things you mentioned for concern(s). I really hope the developers of Sea of Conquest make a console game. That would be 🔥FIRE🔥. I highly suggest you give it a shot. Unfortunately, again, it is a mobile game. I've reached out to developers of the game (Sea of Conquest) about making it an Open World RPG for Console(s) and PC. They told me they'd look into it.
Going to be honest assassin's creed four black flag I didn't give a fuck about the game only thing I got it for was ship battle so yeah it was the ship battle that got me into black flag not the game story shooting cannon balls haha so I'm going to love skull and bones
Ngl this is what lazy dev team looks like. Brother no one wnts to spend 97% of the game in the ship. Most want to actually get on and off whenever they feel rather your fishing or fighting to get to a cavern with more enemies to get loot. This is a ship simulator with a pirate theme.
It's much worse than that. It's not a pirate game. It's a mp arcade shooter in a pirate skin. I mean rapid fire guns and rocket launchers? Fuck that shit. I've played practically every pirate-themed game since Sid Meirs but after 2 hours of this game I'd had enough. Thank fuck it was only the demo. Waited 11 years and this is the shit they came up with?
Boarding ships to take them is a cut scene. How is this acceptable? In Black Flag you could board the ships and have your typical hand hand assassins creed combat.
so go play black flags then why are so many ppl bitching about features not in one game thats in a game from a difrent series oh well i dont like horrizen zero dawn becouse it dosnt have cratos axe in it do you see how stupid you sound
I think you are really stretching for it. You had quite a substantial list of criticism you admitted was fair, and the list of things that were good or misunderstood was small, overexplained, and had issues. Wanting actual hand to hand combat from a pirate game is very logical given that we've had many versions of it and this is Ubisoft and we're paying 70 bucks.
I can understand where you're coming from! Part of the problem is that Black Flag (which I have recently revisited) gave such a definitive version of being a pirate that people have it as a sort of baseline. They may not expect the Assassin's Creed elements, but they may very well expect a lot more on exploration, boarding, combat & anything to immerse you in the world. Movies (especially Pirates of the Caribbean) reinforce this whole idea, and so it has become expected with a pirate theme for the immersion and requirements to be satisfied. They also have strong main characters that are not created by the user, allowing a greater attachment. I think a more comparable game however, might be The Pirate: Caribbean Hunt. Skull and Bones in some ways, could def be considered a direct upgrade from some of it. It's hard for me to explain why exactly, however, especially since in The Pirate, *piracy doesn't pay*. Trade pays, bases pay, and in heaps. If anything, you're opposing a lot of the Pirates that are already out there (and the WIC when they come knocking). You do have boarding, but it's reduced to an interface, although your actions do matter. You do have treasure hunting, but it requires you to head into free roam to find the island and then play a simple enough minigame to find the right tree. Naval combat matters a lot, and the winds matters especially, and is probably one of the best things about the game - especially when considering ammo costs when fighting and whether it's worth it to use or not. However, I doubt Skull and Bones will be to my liking. Black Flag had the trifecta of combat, immersion & exploration. The Pirate (Caribbean hunt at least) had it's own trifecta of trade, combat & bases. Skull and Bones has combat, maybe some trade, maybe some story, I'm not sure of anything else.
The combat isn’t even good dude, the cannon animations are terrible, the cannon balls shoot out as much as 60° off of the aim direction, the sails are static and take you out of the immersion when making maneuvers because it looks terrible, and the steering is so arcade there’s no weight or wind resistance to the steering so unfortunately there’s no depth to the strategy, just travel in circles and shoot at stupid angles…
exactly, they took half of what made black flag great basically which was being a pirate. wasnt even a real assassins creed game as you were someone who stole the outfit of an assassin lmao. it was literally just a pirate game and faking to be creed. but the story and campaign was much more interesting. all i tell people is you can get the same experience essentially and much more playing black flag than skull and bones. basically just the ship aspect of black flag minus actually boarding ships and then doing underwater stuff/sea creature hunting on the small boat. now its "hunt this sea monster that spawns every 24 hours or rarely spawns around the map without a contract"..."or you can join a friend with the contract and you cheese it by having them dq when you kill it". just boring end game to me.
First of all I saw the reveal trailer, and they absolutely did imply it was going to be a open world pirate game in and out of the ship. To say otherwise is just ignorant.
This youtuber is soo wrong its unreal. cant wait to come back when the game goes free to play cus the servers are dead cus noone in there right mind thinks 70 quid is a good price for a game this dull. ill also point out look what happened with wd legion they litraly abandoned the game after not even a full year how can anyone think any diffrent is gonna happen with this poor mans black flag.
@@shawbag11like clockwork the hive mind shows its ugly head. anyone with 2 working brain cells & makes their own opinion would clearly see how great the game is.
I also had a blast when I played the alpha and beta. People have too high expectations for this because of a game that's completely different. Easily sinking in hundreds of hours into this game
I love that you guys have fun. But the fact it has been delayed manier times, costs 80 euros and is basically not a lot better than black flag is what many people are angry about. The idea itself is great, but it is obviously a rushed attempt at a game that could have been one for the ages
@@TheWaveTTV another dumb comment, the first two points are fair, it costs more than it should, and shouldn't have been delayed that many times, but in the moment you say "and is not a lot better than black flag" u exposed yourself again, kiddo, I know you are a fanboy of AC Black Flag, I am too, but you are comparing call of duty and fifa... stop it. These are two different games, with different perspectives, and this game is focused in naval fighting, it's not "black flag 2.0" nor "realistic 3D Sea of Thieves".
@alfoncar2058 I'm 30 years old. My comment is very polite and I do make my point based on my view. Black Flag and Skull and Bones are both focused (AC not exclusively) on naval combat. Call of Duty is a first person shooter and Fifa is a football simulator. I am sure you're well hard behind your keyboard calling others dumb when you can neither have a respectful discussion, nor make a sensible comparison. I didn't like black flag that much, but I am still inclined to say that a game that misses/doesn't have a big aspect of Black Flag shouldn't cost more than 50 60 quid. If you wanna enjoy the game enjoy the game. I hope you do. But have some respect and dignity mouthing off to strangers when you have got nothing polite or constructive thing to say. you don't know me, so pipe down and don't say shit you wouldn't say to someone's face.
If you like the game, fine... But stop pretending like it's a good pirate experience. How do you make a "pirate game" without boarding or land exploration? How do you make ship combat WORSE than a AC4's from 10 years ago??? This should have been GTA on the high seas, complete freedom to cause chaos, explore islands, rob and hoard wealth to build your own pirate empire... Instead we got a boat simulator... Fuck off, Ubisoft.
I honestly love it and can't wait to see what they put in when it fully comes out as I do believe that the map in the bete was not all of it. I also heard that they will add more piratey ships like the man o war for late game
Personally I'm not going to shell out $70, they couldn't figure out how to use their own game engine to develop. A massive company like Ubisoft, for as much money they dumped into marketing, could have used any of those funds to improve the game itself. In the 2017 announcement trailer the majority of footage is of the crew on the ship, even if it's cinematic at least try to represent what you plan on making. One of the first things they mention about the game at their E3 presentation is relating it to Black Flag, right before showing off a 5v5 game mode. It wasn't even slotted as an mmo originally. The fact they delayed and pivoted to an mmo style, while simultaneously ignoring community feedback about what was actually wanted in a pirate themed game bothered me. To then turn around and blame the delays on the multiplayer tech behind mmo's has no sympathy from me. They chose to change the game mid production into something they also knew wasn't going to work. The beta might be okay as a game given no context, but it is far from what they advertised. In total the game was delayed 6 times and every single time they managed to not address the boarding action combat, regardless of how many people wanted it changed. If they need all these excuses to justify why they couldn't make what was promised, they have no right to claim it's a AAA title and just bundle it into a category that's worth $70, plus whatever they get you to buy in game. Side note: Skull and Bones started development in 2013, Sea of Thieves in 2014 - both announced in 2017. After releasing, Rare even managed to charge less than half the price for a far more complete experience.
OK so one I agree alot of people have built an image what skull and bones was going to be in there head. But two this video has a false narrative. When the game first got revealed it was revealed as a single player pirate adventure which BTW had sea and land combat this was then changed 2 years ago to be a multilayer live service game with no land combat. Secondly you can not use Star Citzean as a way to justify this games development time. Reason why star citizen is a much more complicated design with Much more systems and data to work with. 2ndly star citizen wasn't built by a dec team initially it was a start up that only started to ramp up development after they got accused of being a scam and threatened with a lawsuit. Thirdly the prolblem this game has wether you like it or not is the majority of reviewers for the game are slating the first 2 hours or so of the game is boring. You might be young and not realise this isn't the first pirate mmorpg the orogional which looks to still be going is Bounty Bay Online which was released in 2006 or something that game had potential but alot found it boring with the near realistic travel times. The issue skull and bones has is that the game gets alot of criticism around its gathering system and how it took some players between 30 mins and two hours to gather. Now that's on a beta with a limited amount of players. If the system remains way it is the gathering may end up taking people up to potentially 6 hours depending how busy and noisey the servers are. If this isn't fixed this alone could be a choke point that encourages alot of players who are on fence to quit the game, demand a refund and then slate the game online as Boring. I agree the game looks fun to some but you can't state that the negative reviews aren't correct. The game may end up having the best game ever but if the majority of players burn off the game before getting there the game is a Flop ubisoft aren't a company with good morals they scam players alot and aren't knowing to support there game developers they would rather sack and replace to rush so. My advice to anyone is if on fence don't pre order and waste cash get the cheaper version or wait for the first week of reviews to come out and see if it peaks your interest if £70 is to much for a game my advice is hold off spending the money until the game goes on sale which I suspect will be potentially within 6 months of the games life cycle. If your on pc or xbox I'd recomend buying the ubisoft plus sub as it cheaper and trying the game and if don't like you can cancel the sub the ps5 ubisoft plus is crap as its only the classic version
@@Erad_PrimeSorry mate, but that line of thinking is what we want out of a pirate game. It is literally what we seek, and why a lot of not most of us play pirate games for. I certainly won’t be giving someone else my hard earned money for a product that I don’t want.
70 dollars plus microtransactions (which you know will suck) for a game that caters only to the people who likes ship combat and nothing else. You are forced to stay on your ship unless you have a cutscene to get off and you can't board other ships. Sea Of Thieves is what people want out of a pirate game and not to be locked into place with lane bumpers so they can't go off the intended path of the game.
The game is Anthem 2.0 but worse. Because even Anthem, it was at least fun to fly the frames. This best part of this game will be the inevitable "what went wrong" documentary.
Sid mires pirates is a better pirate game than this trash and thats saying something. like u dont even need to compare it to recent games it cant even get the basics right of what makes a pirate game a pirate game. hell i wouldnt even say skull and bones is as good as world of tanks witch is the game it is more trying to be.
The fact that you havent even played it tells a lot. How can you even have the opinion of "it doesnt make the cut" when YOU HAVENT EVEN PLAYED THE GAME?!
Ok for someone who starts their video by saying the public is misinformed about skull and bones and that is why it's getting such bad reviews. This guy in the first couple mins lies to the people watching this video. He says that skull and bones is a MMO. And that is the reason for its out of date graphics and story line and boring narrow loop game play. Well skull and bones is NOT a MMO. Only 20 players can occupy a server at a time. Skull and bones is classified as and action adventure game. And that is a stretch of those terms. As you do very little in the form of adventure. And the action is so narrow and that your biggest challenge for about the first 15 hours or so is the sharks. You don't control any part of your ship outside of guiding it. Crashing your ship into the land or reefs does no real damage. You can't leave your ship freely to explore sunken. Treasure. You don't actually board other ships in combat. It's simply the same cut scene over and over again. You don't even freely leave your ship when you dock at a poi. You simply push a button on your controller wait for the load screen and poof. You are magical standing on land. And then that land is very limited to what you can do or explore on it. Game chat wasn't broken. It just didn't exist at launch. Multi player was broken and hacked day one. And for the CEO to tell its investors that this is a AAAA game well worth a launch price of 70 bucks along with future cost I'm additional content was the joke of the year in gaming. It uses an out of date and under powered anvil engine. And it shows. It's nothing more than a go here and do this game. And although there are other great games that use this formula. Ie grand theft auto. Witcher. Red dead redemption. The difference in those great games is that you get to freely move about the game world. Stumble of side mission. Explore the game world. Be attacked by npcs instead of only being attacked if you start the fight like in skull and bones in the early game. This game will attact those gamers who aren't really good gamers to begin with ad it is a mindless game that rewards you with gear in a ridiculously rapid time span. Keeping you more powerful than any foe you'll come up against. This game is for those that love games where you constantly chase the carrot of the next piece of gear. You know these gamers as the ones that have 300 pieces of armor In storage in diablo. Not because they need it or will ever use it. Simply because they have the need to collect everything. And will spend 30 hours chasing down that one piece they don't have only to reset their game at next season. You know this type of gamer. But if you are the type of gamer that enjoys a challenge. Who loves a hard fought battle of skill and smarts. Who wants to have to actually use their brains to try and out smart the world or enemies. Then this game isn't for you. If your the type of gamer that loves to see up to date graphics for your 70 dollars. This game is not for you. If you wanted to pretend to be a pirate and have a pirate experience. This game is not for you. But if you like guiding a ship around from poi to poi. For 70% of the game. Then you'll love it. And the fact that the game has only been out about a month and is on sale in store for under 50 bucks now should tell you all you need to know
As someone who heard about Skull and Bones’s development here and there throughout the decade, I couldn’t have cared less. Only recently, I heard it’s getting released and I thought “Wow, yeah! It’s actually been a decade.” Immediately, I thought of the 7 year cyberpunk flop. Turns out it was absolutely and exactly like that. Listing off a few irredeemable problems that the game has: - The naval combat is like playing first person cod warfare. The cannon is literally an MG42 - There is no melee combat on & off land - Farming resources comes down to quick time button pressing - Sharks apparently sound like lions roaring - The story is practically non-existent, falls down to simple fetch quests from what I’ve seen - What is actually on-land exploration, don’t quote me on this, is a social hub to talk to characters, customization, and finding treasure. The last one’s not too bad but still. - It’s marketed as a 70$ quadruple A game - We have a character that can’t even swim in a pirate game I hadn’t even played the game myself and I truly believe that the internet loves to slander games and hop on the hate train because it’s trending even if a game has some merit to it like maybe suicide squad. I’d probably give suicide squad a 6, but it wasn’t the worst that every UA-camr in the known galaxy should make a youtube video to hate on it for views, at least off pc; I heard it’s awful up there. I really wanted this guy to convice me that maybe I have it wrong, but he gave no reevaluation points that resulted in a single way to change my mind. I thought this would be a clickbait “I actually hate it video” after he went on the first 4 minutes about what makes the game terrible. I think this guy is actually serious when he said “I also hear people say it must include melee combat and physical boarding because it’s a pirate game, but that doesn’t make any sense because pirate is a theme…” (7:59) If he likes it, he likes it, however, this guy is pretty delusional if he thinks what he said makes up for why the game is actually terrible. Without what we thought was a pretty cool pirate game in Black Flag, Skull and Bones is pretty bare bones as is. Edit: I didn’t know that your ship has an actual stamina bar… idk either
If someone is expecting Black Flag online and Skull and Bones isn't that, it's not wrong to dislike what it actually is. Chances are if you wanted a pirate game where you can board ships and what not, you probably won't like this. That's an opinion. And sometimes people are adamant about their opinion just like others make a video about their opinion on liking what the game is... All we can really do is share what we enjoy about things, and discuss what we don't like. But nobody's opinion is wrong, it's just not your opinion.
This is actually, literally, the first time i heard it's an mmo. Like i heard people talk about how it went through multiple stages, one of which was named to be an mmo, but i was always under the impression that it's simply online coop / server hosted. It being an mmo is kinda a bummer.. because mmos somehow always are. How is it done? How many players are actually in the world? Do we know about the cash shop? A huge aspect of the game is cosmetics, but if all of the cool ones are behind a paywall.. dunno.
@@Trigger200284 I liked it in the beta. While i dislike Ubisoft *and* dont think the price tag is justified, so i wont buy it for now, i do look forward to playing more. It's a completely different game from black flag. I dont get the comparisons to be honest. One is a naval combat looter shooter multiplayer game, where the other is a singleplayer pirate adventure. The literally and absolutely only things they share is that there is ships in both games, and the game being themed around pirates. That's it. I've heard people compare S&B to black flag many times, listing all the things where S&B falls behind in their opinion.. like that the pirate cant swim, or doesnt get wet in water, or other things like that. Oh and of course the boarding. Thing is, none of these are important to, or required, not a naval combat looter shooter. The entire existance of the pirate character is probably mostly for cosmetics and equals flavor text in other games. They could (and imho should) have thrown it all out, and just have us navigate efficient UIs at the port without leaving the ships. I also dont give a shit about the story (any game, i just dont care) so they may have removed that aswell while at it. Boarding in this game is just a loot multiplier. It's (supposed to be, but quite frankly they failed on that front) a grindy game, and you certainly dont want something you will do hundreds or thousands of times to take long. Quite frankly, the only way to improve boarding in the context of S&B would not be to involve literal boarding and melee combat, but simply make the cutscene skippable and have our ship not come to a stillstand for it. That would make it perfect to be honest lol. Basically just steal extra loot with grappling hooks, and dont even call it boarding. Done. Black Flag may be a better game in the eyes of most people, but it's not just a better game "period". Singleplayer games dont keep my attention, and i like myself a good grind that keeps a game interresting for hundreds of hours with some friends. Black Flag does not offer that, Skull and Bones.. well.. maybe? Im a bit worried about the amount of content, and the price is certainly too high, but it goes in the right direction. Despite AC Black Flag being on sale for 10 bucks right now.. it's just not worth the money for me, while i would insta-buy S&B for 30 bucks. Different games, different target audiences^^
@@Yamyatos the comparisons are because this was supposed to be dlc for black flag. The entire game was built off the foundation of black flag and they made every aspect worse vs it and took 10 years and 200 million to do it…
@@Trigger200284 It started development as a project to build a game around the naval combat of black flag, because people enjoyed that. Not even the pirate aspects, the naval aspects. And this concept is from 2013. They didnt market it as anything even relating to black flag in the biggest part of a decade. The E3 2018 showcase already showed the direction of the game pretty clearly, *even to those* who apparantly missed that it went through multiple complete concept changes. That's been 6 years ago. By the way, complete concept changes and prolonged development times are very common in the game development industry. You just usually dont hear about it, nor about the majority of projects that are started and cancelled midway through. Ubisoft made the mistake of involving the public way too early in the development of this game. Imagine they would have never spoken about the game prior to 2018. The game would be perceived completely different without all the people nagging it for all the things it was "never" supposed to be like.
@@Yamyatos and they failed at the Naval aspects. It’s a dog water arcade control scheme. Stop defending a crap game without even trying to see the faults in it.
Okay I just now watched the video all the way through and maybe this game is hated more than it should be. It might be an okay-ish game but still disappointing that you play as the ship rather than a pirate on the ship. It just does not fully have what I really want in pirate and pirate ship gameplay. And not having Sea Of Thieves makes me really wish Skull And Bones was a good alternative to Sea Of Thieves.

Not hating, just that we had a cake on our plates now Ubisoft is putting shit on our plates. Reeks cash grab after many many delays. The Six-hour limit is pretty much the game loop. The pre-orders to play early pretty much suckered FOMO! Game mechanics are lame and mobile like.. shame. Don't get suckered in as there are a lot of red flags. Six hours a play time window and pre-orders start early. They want to sucker as many players as they can before realizing it was fun for six hours then what?? Repetitive gameplay loops? This isn't a pirate game, it's just generic ship cutscene gameplay. No sword fight, no flintlock. You are the ship arcade game. Shame... I was expecting a BlackFlag upgrade but we got a downgrade. This game reeks cash cash-grab game mechanics after many many delays after.
No one can tell someone if they're wrong or right to not like a game. It's their own personal perspective, choice & opinion, where they will vote with their wallets, just like they did with the failures that were Marvel Avengers and even Suicide Squad sold much less. Not everyone will like a game someone else does, just like not everyone will dislike a game others do.
@@brendonrookes1151 the game was a failure, sold under a million copies across all platforms in total. Nothing to do with comparisons and everything to do with sales. People voted with their wallet and ubisoft will be lucky to make a fraction of the 200m back they spent on it's development
*literally just world of tanks but with boats. Thumbs way down.* Black flag is sadly still the best pirate game and it's kind of b rated. Heavily over praised, and has a terrible story with forgettable characters the most interesting ones all being online "multiplayer" ones. Has "eh its alright but gets boring in a few days" gameplay. This? This looks like a waste of development. There could easily be a phenomenal pirate game, if only they combined the concept of black flags pirating and heavily improved it with character customization and added things based on one piece. Or they could just make a black flag ish one piece with drastically improved gameplay getting game of the year guaranteed. What a boring game this is. Ugh.
@@joshinspace3903 Just asking, do u know how many players and isles and ships are there at the same time in a server of Sea Of Thieves? I know it is easy to compare both games when u know nothing about game developing. The difference is too big about loading every single object, so they sepparated instances, that's why there is a loading screen, they could have made a good transition, instead of a black screen, that is what modern games use nowadays for loading screens, but saying that roaming between them is a good option is only in the heads of casual players that know nothing about the problems it would carry.
It is sad that you basically play the ship and not the pirate. It is sad that it has loading screens to dock on Islands. Sea of Thieves is not perfect, But it Does a lot right.
TL;DR: Need to comment on that space-game timescale (decades) when comparing to this game err... He does do half of the video apologizing about game problems. Or that people "expect it to be", "wrong place according to ppl" "people claim this is...". I'll still test the game, but yeah, nothing much to see in this video. TBH I expected game review despite the topic of the video. My bad yes, trash me more.
Dude I released this video over a month video, how could I release a review? A First Impressions (of the final version) is coming tomorrow and I am writing the review right now. Just a little patience there.
I am completely okay with having a "Controls" focused launch tutorial, other game have tried to introduce the controls with independent story, however this tends to get lost on those players more focused on getting into the main game world. They tend to skip through and miss how those important machnics work. Which intern creates a bad experience. Where with a more focused tutorial may be dry it get the player into the main world with at least a basic idea of the mechanics and they can pick up the rest and have fun with the story now that they have a grasp of the basics and learn more advance as they continue forward.
Naval battles with wood boat, and science fiction weapons, and just health point and heal ? Absolutely no visible damages, no repairing, just a stupid flame skin for 3 seconds after any damages and heal, is it serious? Your boat is brand new or sunk, and that's all. where is the immersion in a violent combat with that ? Oftenly water goes on the boat, but it's always dry just after. Collisions are a total fail 80% of the cases. You can't go in or out of your boat, just a black screen and you pop there. You can't captur any boat, you sunk everything with the same animation, and after you destroy all forest with a stupid mini game to build new boats, is there any sense about that ? Haters are haters because the list i have started here is more than 2 pages of sabotages about what could have been a piracy life if that game were serious. We hate because we are disapointed after all this time to see such a joke.

because its not possible for you in the minority to be wrong right? why is it when a cash cow game comes out with tagged on mediocrity such as island exploring with graphics worse than assasins creed black flag come out, people are seen as "haters" for speaking the truth? the big question should be why do you support a full price game slated as AAAA, with microtransactions, which SHOULD be a free live service game. Even sea of theives at launch was more fun, and that game was barebones but with friends it really was fun... it had freedom and encouraged you to be a pirate. Skull and bones specifically says "be a nice pirate and dont attack others".. which is baffling..... its like a shooter saying "be a nice killer". The ship control is awful and like skating on ice, people are calling it a boat sim but its nothing like that.... its just a barebones arcade game. You want to support a once great dev who has become just another EA, releasing garbage which just looks for praise because of its political leanings, then go for it.... meanwhile the intelligent people of the world say no thanks
I've been on the fence about this game, I heard so much about this game years ago "its only pvp" and "only pve" with "its a AC BF clone with no real progression." What I am looking for is a naval like / pirate / explore / mmo game to jump in chill after a long day. If the game hits high maybe they will add features that others are crying for (doubt it but who knows) and the fact it is in "another part of the world" I love it ! If this was base in the typical seas we all known and loved I think we would get bored faster with locations. The console prices is (for UK) £63 for limited and more for the exclusive hitting a whopping 89.99 on amazon with PC having its typical £40-50 price mark for the base game only hitting higher for the other editions which I personally care less for but the 2 day early play could lure in for that £70 price mark. I am considering on trying this game out and sharing my opinions with the base game only. But I need to look into this more but the information you provided has given me some hope that I will enjoy this game but not to expect "amazing oh my gosh" moments that will melt my brain in "how did they manage this" but to take it as it is and have realistic expectation depending on available information instead of letting my vast imagination run wild.
So in other words you're gonna buy it knowing it's gonna suck and regret it later. That's why ubisoft is always gonna produce hollow trash. Even the movement and graphics were better in ac4. And in 11 years they've produced this and if you really played ubisoft games before you know this is a huge let down but have fun for the next few days I bet most people won't play this game longer than a month or 2
have you played it ? as some one that has played it fun game and yes you can come back to land any time you please could they add land fights sure but honestly if i had other players atacking me not sure id of agreed to buy it like most the player base will be chill let you do your thing@@johnahrens3214
Haters are a brainless herd They hate something because everyone else does They can't even elaborate why they hate it because they don't know what makes a good product They can't think for themselves
I will admit that I'm (as of now is) on the more negative side of the game. You said it yourself and I agree with all of your points. I don't care about the AC parallels people try to draw and I don't care that it's not in the Caribbean. What I do care about is: - The game seems old and outdated from what I saw in the beta and it seems really limited what you can do. - Crafting system is too dumbed down and as soon as you move on to a tier 2+ cannon you'll never go back to these first recipes. They are just there for the rest of the game with no purpose. - I would go so fare as to say that the on-land system is completely irrelevant. It's dead treasure hunting and merchants and farming resources can be done from you boat... It makes no sense. - I can't move around on my ship... Walk around on land where it's irrelevant, Yes - Walk around on my ship where I spend the majority (hopefully) of my time. no...!?!? - And a loading screen in the transition from ship to land is fracking unacceptable in 2023.
This game is really only going to appeal to players of games like armored core or war thunder. Where you focus solely on making your ship as OP as possible by min maxing it. People aren’t gonna play for it the exploration or pirate aspect. Because all of that looks subpar.
Dog!! They lied to us, they said this is a multiplayer pirate game. This is only naval combat... literally no piracy. All the game play is basically world of tanks with ships. That’s like CALL OF DUTY releasing a game about being a spy and all the gun fights are cutscenes... with your argument “at least you can play it, you don’t get it it’s story driven” fans have a right to be upset! This game was only made because black flag was fun to play, case and point! They took all the fun parts out and made it a grind. I’m glad you like it, no one else does.
@@Erad_Prime no piracy gameplay, all the gameplay is only naval combat. Your defending a game they didn’t even want to make, they were forced to by contract. This literally was originally black flag DLC. They added ship upgrades to grind for and took out every gameplay aspect that made you a pirate. They took ten years to takes out swashbuckling and finding buried treasure. The ships don’t even have visual damage. They catch on fire every other minute then magically goes out after ten seconds. And back to a perfect ship freshly painted. The entire game is ship combat and there isn’t even visual damage. You can tell they cared.
Haters are not wrong by the way. At least not all of them. You are turning what a lot of people wanted, into "people had false expectations". When people hear Tom Clancy. They want a very tactical shooter, with a lot serious political drama. What they don't want is a battle royal game, or hero shooter. It doesn't matter that Ubisoft announced from day one that it was always supposed to be a hero shooter or a battle royal. It's not what the fans wanted. The same thing applies to Skull and bones. This game was announced right on the heels of the huge succes of black flag. And fans made it VERY clear what they wanted. But Ubisoft saw the money that games like World of tanks made with their greed micro transactions and decided to make THAT instead. At the end of day, this is what Skull and bones is. And you like that. Alright good for you. Loots of people love World of tanks (obviously). But to say that "haters are wrong" is dishonest. They aren't wrong, they didn't get false expectation. It's just NOT the game they wanted. And that's ok too. Ubisoft should just rebrand as a "mobile game" or "live service" company at this point. Because clearly, that's what they want to be now.
Fans wanting something doesn’t mean they have to get everything they want. What are you 5? First time I heard or saw anything about this game was this beta. I received a game key and ended up playing it myself and absolutely loved the game for what it is. Just because you screamed at the devs that you wanted something doesn’t mean you get it. You are acting like a child who didn’t get his way and are now acting out. You don’t like the game? Great don’t buy it and move along.
I agree with pretty much all of this. A player base is critical to game developers. It is their money in the end that pays the bills! To disregard their criticism can be quite detrimental to their business. Look what happened with Cyberpunk 2077. It did come good in the end but the developers reputation got torn to shreds. I've played the beta for Skull and Bones and can understand the criticism directed at it. It appears more of an arcade pirate ship game than a full on pirate game like Black Flag or Sea of Thieves. Both these games still hold up pretty well and are available. The question is whether S&B has anything different to offer. I actually didn't mind it because I didn't expect it to be BF. I doubt there even will be a sequel to BF because it would mess with the AC timeline. I actually wanted a more naval oriented game based on these old ships. It does have it's flaws but I actually enjoyed blasting ships out of the water. I know I can also do that with the other two games mentioned but it was quite a lot of fun doing it with S&B too. The thing is, it may be priced a bit too much for what it offers in direct comparison to the other games. I can only hope that it will do well, because the pirate genre has really been lacking of late...
@@tzarkizitski9344 oh and by the way, Sea of Thieves might be a good game in your opinion. My opinion is that it’s an absolutely horrible game with cheesy graphics.
This is basically battlefield but with pirate ships, unrealistic turning capabilities, not much customization for your character, trash combat system with no ability to board and fight hand to hand.
@@DDubzzz Imagine paying 60$ for a live service game that will eventually go away and die when you could buy ASSASSINS CREED BLACK FLAG FOR 30$ AND KEEP IT FOREVER 🤣
Is it perfect no does it have flaws Yes do I care about boarding no but genuinely the ship combat is where it shines. Not to mention the cosmetics both free and paid and the bosses are challenging and you have to have others with you to complete them. Making your build the way you want it per ship to do whatever you want needed to do is also what makes this game good.
Honestly, the game is more fun and with a lot more things to do than Sea of Thieves was when it was released. Personally, I find it very balanced that the distances are not huge even though they refer to a huge area and that you have the feeling of sailing, another thing would be like Naval Action, two hours of empty play before you reach what you want, for a while of play. If it's been missed that on land you can't do more things with the avatar, or that there are missions in ports like sabotaging Pirates of the Burning is... something beyond just strolling. I also miss that the approaches, if it weren't for the avatar, which I think would be immersive, would be solved with a minigame that had in context how much crew the other has left and you have your... something that also adds the use of different ammo and that could give a little more depth to the game. It is a pity that the Portuguese Empire has disappeared from the narrative, although it is true that at that time it was much smaller (The Spanish empire wouldn't make sense unless more maps are included to begin with, in the Philippines and other areas of the world, so otherwise that's fine). I like that the center of activity has changed from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, which is historic. Maybe I don't like so much the cartoonish tone that some ships have assumed, perhaps to the point that they even seem unreal, especially in the ships that are found at sea (the players' ships are mostly beautiful). There are things like ship management (and not being able to leave them with consumables anymore) that I find "archaic", but I guess that's something that can change. Without a doubt, the game takes on another level when played with friends and therefore the fun becomes shared. It's clearly not going to be the game of the year... but if it manages to survive enough years, it could surprise us by expanding the map and adding areas of it, in fact you could even build a whole world in pieces, to start completing the entire Indian Ocean area until perhaps finding the South Pole (which could add fun mechanics), in addition to the future Gulf area, also expanding towards India and ending with China, The Philippines and Japan, would make the game win the future. It remains to be seen if Ubisoft feels profitable enough to add everything the game needs or if they just try to recoup their investment before sending it to hell. There are games that have shown that with enough love they can surpass themselves and by far... although at this point, I don't know if Ubisoft is the best of the companies (better than EA of course it is)... Only time will tell... the time and money they are willing to invest.
I am utterly sick of the Ubisoft game aesthetic (thanks AC Valhalla, for that) so on that point alone, I will probably never get this game. Just really tired of Ubisoft's uninspired game design. Also, blaming the community for their misconceptions of what the game is or isn't, is just ignorant. It is Ubisoft's fault for mis-marketing the game or not marketing it clear enough. It is their fault for the game's troubled development, not the community's! In the end, whatever perceptions are held by the community, will affect game sales. That is the bottom line. Whether we are right or wrong, does not matter. Ubisoft failed.
No the community isn't always right but most of the time it's ignorant and deserves criticism in itself. For folks keep regurgitating the same bullshit gets tiring AF as I've followed the game since it's inception so to keep blaming the devs for a game that NEVER advertised for what the community constantly wanks about from what the game actually is and what has been clearly stated... is YOUR FAULT alone for being SO DAMN IGNORANT!
Bruh they made the black flag without loading and after 10 years what happened they lost that technology like NASA ?? 😂😂 What are we talking about here but this is not the worst the worst is PVP it supposed yo be open world online pvp game , but all we get is a single player co-op thay take out all the out of it .. its for no lifes thanks but no thanks there's way to many story mode better games than this and cheaper with incredible experience co-op and not this is money grab..
The one thing this game has going for it is that it has pretty graphics. Like i get it, you spent $100 on the super duper pooper special edition of the game, and you're in denial it flopped, but the stats don't lie. After season 1 of S&B, the PS player base dropped off about 89%, and the Xbox player base dropped off by 90%. Its first week of launch AC4 saw a 200% increase in players. The whole game is grind fest. Gotta grind to get the next ship just to grind to get to the next ship and so on so forth. The entire "end-game" is grinding for special currency. The story missions are the same copy and pasted go here and sink this ship, go take over this outpost, go here and find this treausre, go here and talk to so and so. The only mission worth noting was using Scurlocks ship to go take over an outpost. Ubisoft themselves even said they did not expect to break even with this game. Meaning they spent more money on this game than what they got back in sales. The community wanted the sailing and naval combat mechanics, minus the ship boardinng, of AC4, and what we got was the exact opposite. The charavter customization is trash. Oh, and we can't forget when level 10 rogue pirate ships would spawn near Saint Annes and demolish you before you even got a chance to go anywhere. Not to mention the unblanaced ships from Season 1 that would take out your level 10 ship in shots no matter if you had the strongest ship with the strongest armor.
Give it half a year ital go free to play when the servers are dead cus only a few fanboys are playing it. mark my words and it 2 years at most they will announce a end up updates
Personally. I'm out for a very specific reason. This game looks way too Arcady and immersion breaking. With silly reflex bar mini-games to gather resources, boarding etc... Not to mention very silly weapons and canons that take you out of the experience. (This is pretty much World of tanks, World of warships, but with pirate ships. Plain and simple) Black flag was beloved because it's (still to this day) the most IMMERSIVE pirate experience you could have. There is also sea of thieves too to some extent. I don't care that "this isn't supposed to be black flag". The fact remains, an Online "better" black flag is what most people wanted. And Ubisoft knew it. But, that's not what "the board of shareholders" wanted. They wanted a easy money generating machine. That is exactly what they made. This is what a big chunk of the fans wanted. An immersive pirate experience. What we got instead is a game that very much feels like a mobile game, made by mobile game devs (I'm sorry, but you will NOT convince otherwise.). Is it a good "mobile game" like arcadish experience where you control a pirate ship? Sure, maybe. But I don't care. Is Diablo Immortal a badly made game that no one can enjoy? No. Is it a shitty money grabbing mobile game that is not what the fans wanted? Yes. Same thing here. That's not what I wanted. This game was announced right on the heels of the HUGE success of black flag. And THIS, is NOT what most of us wanted. Period. Just like no one asked Tom Clancy games to turn into Battle royals, hero shooters, or RPG's. Ubisoft is just completely out of touch with what a lot of their fans want. I want Ghost Recon, a tactical shooter. (Not a battle royal, or an RPG) I want Rain bow six, A tactic swat game (Not a hero shooter) I want black flag but with even deeper systems and yes PvP. (Not a glorified World of tanks rip off. Which is EXACTLY what this is. And we all know why they copied that formula. The moneytisation of ships. You know it's coming). If you like this game. Good for you. Have fun with it. For my part. I think it's Trash and I think Ubisoft is trash. But that's just me. This game is just an other "live service" money generating attempt by Ubisoft. I see absolutely ZERO passion or love in this. And I refuse to contribute a dime to this greedy company. They knew what most people wanted. They just didn't do it, because all they care about now is CHASING trends to make that juicy stream of money.
"Black flag was beloved because it's (still to this day) the most IMMERSIVE pirate experience you could have." The Black Flag where your gigantic ship was as maneuverable as a canoe? where you could turn on a dime? There is one single game based on realism and immersion at the moment and it's Naval Action. Black Flag was as immersive as S&B seems to be. it would be as hated if it would come out today. "Ubisoft is just completely out of touch with what a lot of their fans want." Ubisoft never announced they were making a simulation, which is what a lot of fans seemed to think or want. They said we're making a pirate mmo. That's what we're getting. "Fans" can like it or not, but there is a very wrong misconception that goes on since a few years, and it's that some fans of a game, genre or studio seem to have convinced themselves they owned said studio or game and they're trash for not making SPECIFICALLY what they want, when they want. Your opinion does not matter one bit. Buy the game, or don't.
I honesty, believe there are people out there getting a kick back to defend this game online and to stream it. It is so damn awful that no one should be defending it.
The game looks painfully boring... like i'm gonna spend $60 for about two hours of grinding before i realize its not worth it and it rots in my trash bin.. ill give it a second look when it releases buuuut more than likely...No thanks.
Dull people like dull things what can i say. i mean this youtuber also defended starfield so kinda proves why the dislike ratio on this video is soo high cus he clearly dosnt know what he is talking about and is just defending the game blindly.
I'm looking forward to the game most people have their own ideas of what it should be and they're expecting it to be as you side Black flag high-res it's not you can't expect it to be I'll take a stable live service game that is not buggy and fun that can be added to over something that is broken like no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 was at launch.
Dude, either you are being PAID by Ubisoft to address the very real and FAIR criticisms of this "pirate" simulator. Or you are just too easy to please and love grinding for mats and sailing 25+minutes for little reward. If thats your thing, then good for you. But for 95% of people living in these END TIMES, the price tag alone is not in any way justifiable. The game is just plain boring. I've sunk prolly 50 hours into it and the endgame isn't fun, just tedious and unrewarding. 1 hour to plunder a fort, and the reward was diminishing. Sea of Thieves, Age of Pirates 2, AC Black Flag, etc. are better in every way.
Actually when you have less people playing the game because they are “hatting” it, its not a matter of who is right, but who will spend money on it, and if there arent much players that is what you look at to see if the game needs to change and its actually not good, if only a few people like it you can either loose money or make changes so that its nice to more people. The real question is, this game is good for who? And I can garantee you that this game, if it doenst change, will fail.
I kind of listened to the hate and didn't buy the game. The trailer came out recently and I tried it. I was surprised how fun it was. Listening to the crew sing shantys or proving the locals your more than just washed up scum. The beautiful graphics tied with a good boat combat makes for a fun time. What I'm trying to say is don't knock it till you try it. Someone else's opinion might not correlate to your enjoyment. I now own the game and hope to see you guys out in the seas!
@@Erad_Prime it's a more fleshed out pirate experience. And it feels like the devs loved making it, skull and boneless feels like another project corporate execs decided to just fuck up because they could
In the time its taken skull and bones to come out sea of thieves has had 8 years worth of updates. crossed over with 2 of the biggest pirate series of all time and still continues to get huge updates that eleveat the game even higher than it was when it first came out. skull and bones on the other hand has 2 years at most before ubisoft give up on it and annoance no more updates. ill literally bet whatever u want that's gonna happen cus that's exactly what happened with wd legion
Sid Meiers Pirates did it best because it had everything you could possibly want and no two games were ever the same.. I’d say Black Flag is right up there too because it has all those PoP/AC parkour elements.. I dunno about this.. I always stick up for Ubi when others love to hate but I think they may have to tweak this a bit like let’s say Capcom did with SFV for example in adding new things down the line
Stop watching people play the game, and go play the game yourself. Thats what I tell everyone. Huge difference between watching someone be bored with it and trying yourself. Its way more fun to play than to watch someone play.
maybe read the comments on the first trailers, that it isn't what people wanted is exactly 95 % of the commenters issue with it. that you like gacha games is your problem. disingenuous.
Been looking at info for weeks, f** it... I have money I will buy it, if it flops life goes on. I hated the closed beta, went to the open beta with a different mindset and actually enjoyed it
Not true, most of the classic mmorpg's first quests are like killing 100 boars, finding 100 herbs, going back and forth talking to a guide NPC, or levelin up lots of different "farming jobs", and in midgame you unlock dungeons, pvp, etc. So, idk what kind of mmorpg's u have played before, but if you played midgame just with the objective to get to the endgame and it was boring, then I can tell those were not good mmorpg's, or maybe part of the fault was in the mentality.
Just to disagree, i've never felt entertained in an mmo until endgame in my entire life lol. Even, or especially, the ones that try to engage you in some sort of story or whatnot.. yikes.
I had fun with it, but I still think it’s lacking for it $70 price point. I also think they really needed on foot combat and being able to leave the wheel and walk around your ship. These things seem very basic and there was no way they should have been lost from the game that inspired it. If they would add on foot combat I’d probably buy the game once it were on sale. And it’s current state though, I would’ve still bought it for about if it were cheaper. On a sidenote, what’s with the all female cruise? Diversity is one thing, but it still seems forced in this case as there were not a lot of women serving on ships at this area.
You are actually wrong about the AC thing. You refer to 2018, but way before that they had already said that it was intended to be an expansion. That was the original development target as Ubisoft themselves has confirmed and over time it became a separate title that was once referred to as "Black Flag Infinite" (MMO Black Flag), and then it became Skull and Bones closer to its reveal.
They would been better off redoing black flag with a black beard prequel expansion. 10 yrears didn’t build excitement it drove people away and everything else advanced.
Agree. I’m looking forward to playing this. I’m looking forward to the ships, their customizations and ship to ship combat. I could care less about hand to hand 3rd or first person combat. There’s loads of other games out there for that stuff. Looking forward to something different. And absolutely, gaming companies announce games way too early. (Probably CEOs trying to boost their stock price for the quarter) All it does is amplify expectations for when the game does release and then everyone complains.
Quadruple AAAA game my ass, the open beta (unfortunately) confirmed everybody's concern
This is just not the game we waited 11 years for, period
oh boo fucking whoo plau the game you do like and stop moaning
regardless of what some may got wrong about what skull and bones was supose to be,it was clear that ubisoft wanted to take advantage of black flag success, and yes skull and bones is a pirate game missing half of what makes being a pirate fun, it doesn't matter what the devs showed back when they first announced the game, skull and bones was announced as a multiplayer pirate game and what pirates do? they attack other ships and board them and they bury their treasure on islands and will hunt other pirates treasures, seems like black flag still to this day offers a more complete experience of being a pirate
But ya know how dare they do that
As for the mention of burying treasure on islands stop watching Hollywood that's not real piracy.
I really enjoy the game as it is, I like the graphics and sound design, I like the gameplay, the quest, the fights etc, but I have some hopes about other things, for once the game is out
The only critics I have regarding the game are :
-No guild system, and guild content that could go along this
-Not much pvp/arena activity (maybe late game activity)
-No rankings, I'd like to grind for infamy, or most forts plundered, most world event overtaken etc
In my point of view, it has really great water physics@@centralbasedagency9334
Really? Your criticism isnt ...idk... Maybe wind direction playing a part in SAILING
Yea, it is fun and a LOT of the negativity is completely unwarranted and tons of unfounded claims are being made.
The best game for that is "Sea of Conquest."
Unfortunately, it's a mobile title.
Yes it is. I like it!
No one? I prefer focus on the ship aspects. I don’t need another third person nonsense.
I also prefer the focus on ship combat but man this isn’t it though
Now if it had realistic sailing and combat this game would pop tf off
World of Boats
It's much worse than that. It's not a pirate game. It's a mp arcade shooter in a pirate skin. I mean rapid fire guns and rocket launchers? Fuck that shit. I've played practically every pirate-themed game since Sid Meirs but after 2 hours of this game I'd had enough. Thank fuck it was only the demo. Waited 11 years and this is the shit they came up with?
Boarding ships to take them is a cut scene. How is this acceptable? In Black Flag you could board the ships and have your typical hand hand assassins creed combat.
It's a multiplayer game so I guess ships can shoot your ship while it boarded? This would ruin any aspect of pvp
This isnt Black Flag. Stop making that comparison.
This is not assassins creed black flag 2.. play ac black flag again if u want that .. still a great game..
so go play black flags then why are so many ppl bitching about features not in one game thats in a game from a difrent series oh well i dont like horrizen zero dawn becouse it dosnt have cratos axe in it do you see how stupid you sound
It's not what S&B is about, plain and simple. S&B is more of an X4 on the seas.
@Erad_Prime and nobody asked for that we wanted a pirate game where we can actually be a pirate not a damn ship

I had an absolute blast playing this beta 3 times. I pre ordered the premium edition and I know I will likely put a few thousand hours in this game.

@@TheWaveTTV welcome to the internet

Hah! A good pirate game with no boarding, swordplay or gunplay? Whats next? Are you going to piss on me and tell me its raining?

And the fact that the game has only been out about a month and is on sale in store for under 50 bucks now should tell you all you need to know
You're the type of person who would pay 70 bucks for a pair of jeans with holes.
Listing off a few irredeemable problems that the game has:
- The naval combat is like playing first person cod warfare. The cannon is literally an MG42
- There is no melee combat on & off land
- Farming resources comes down to quick time button pressing
- Sharks apparently sound like lions roaring
- The story is practically non-existent, falls down to simple fetch quests from what I’ve seen
- What is actually on-land exploration, don’t quote me on this, is a social hub to talk to characters, customization, and finding treasure. The last one’s not too bad but still.
- It’s marketed as a 70$ quadruple A game
- We have a character that can’t even swim in a pirate game
I hadn’t even played the game myself and I truly believe that the internet loves to slander games and hop on the hate train because it’s trending even if a game has some merit to it like maybe suicide squad.
A huge aspect of the game is cosmetics, but if all of the cool ones are behind a paywall.. dunno.
No worries dude. The game is abysmal at best. Just go play Black Flag it’s much better and works offline

But I need to look into this more but the information you provided has given me some hope that I will enjoy this game but not to expect "amazing oh my gosh" moments that will melt my brain in "how did they manage this" but to take it as it is and have realistic expectation depending on available information instead of letting my vast imagination run wild.
try the f2p World of Sea Battles , absolute gem
So in other words you're gonna buy it knowing it's gonna suck and regret it later. That's why ubisoft is always gonna produce hollow trash. Even the movement and graphics were better in ac4. And in 11 years they've produced this and if you really played ubisoft games before you know this is a huge let down but have fun for the next few days I bet most people won't play this game longer than a month or 2
if your on playstation they give you a 1 day trial
have you played it ? as some one that has played it fun game and yes you can come back to land any time you please could they add land fights sure but honestly if i had other players atacking me not sure id of agreed to buy it like most the player base will be chill let you do your thing@@johnahrens3214
Haters are a brainless herd
They hate something because everyone else does
They can't even elaborate why they hate it because they don't know what makes a good product
They can't think for themselves
I will admit that I'm (as of now is) on the more negative side of the game. You said it yourself and I agree with all of your points. I don't care about the AC parallels people try to draw and I don't care that it's not in the Caribbean. What I do care about is:
- The game seems old and outdated from what I saw in the beta and it seems really limited what you can do.
I get the whole, "must get it to release" but as soon as a game needs loading screens to board ships or set sail, just dont bother, Im good.
I'll let you in on a secret
Black Flag had loading screens too
@@nikifalcon is this game black flag? Not sure what the point of your comment is. Which is indeed the point, lol.
This game is really only going to appeal to players of games like armored core or war thunder. Where you focus solely on making your ship as OP as possible by min maxing it. People aren’t gonna play for it the exploration or pirate aspect. Because all of that looks subpar.
There is also fleet management, outpost ownership, trade routes, dynamic economy ... You're completely ignoring that.
Pirate is a theme, not a genre. There's plenty of piracy in this game.
What the fuck are you on about?
Did you play the game?
If sea of thieves was this graphical would crush this game
Sea of Thieves is too childish to me and unrealistic.
im gonna go play black flag instead thanks bro
It looks boring it will get old within 2 hours. 10 years of development for this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is basically battlefield but with pirate ships, unrealistic turning capabilities, not much customization for your character, trash combat system with no ability to board and fight hand to hand.
i cant believe there are people actually defending this game.
It's fun. To each their own

For folks keep regurgitating the same bullshit gets tiring AF as I've followed the game since it's inception so to keep blaming the devs for a game that NEVER advertised for what the community constantly wanks about from what the game actually is and what has been clearly stated... is YOUR FAULT alone for being SO DAMN IGNORANT!
ubi$hit will make your game unplayable later. don't give them money
Not to mention the unblanaced ships from Season 1 that would take out your level 10 ship in shots no matter if you had the strongest ship with the strongest armor.
played for 2 days, a 30 bucks game, at most, not worth 60 at all
That is true. hard to justify 7- usd for it.
It's worth no more than $35.00, and that's a stretch.
Give it half a year ital go free to play when the servers are dead cus only a few fanboys are playing it. mark my words and it 2 years at most they will announce a end up updates
They literally said it was to be a DLC for Black Flag in 2013 and also mentioned hand to hand combat in one of the early promo videos.
I have never seen/read anything like this. Do you have any sources? I don't see them in your comment (of course)
Man’s trying to justify his purchased
I'm actually happy with it.
He doesn't need to prove you anything
He says what he says
I would make the same video if i waste 70$ of my money😂
Not for me, to arcadey.
Plain and simple)
Black flag was beloved because it's (still to this day) the most IMMERSIVE pirate experience you could have.
(Not a battle royal, or an RPG)
I want Rain bow six, A tactic swat game (Not a hero shooter)
I want black flag but with even deeper systems and yes PvP.
"Ubisoft is just completely out of touch with what a lot of their fans want."
Ubisoft never announced they were making a simulation, which is what a lot of fans seemed to think or want.
@@captainharlock3998 I said Immersive. Not realistic.
If you have a better immersive pirate experience on offer, please, do share.
How is this game a cash grab like Diablo ??
I honesty, believe there are people out there getting a kick back to defend this game online and to stream it. It is so damn awful that no one should be defending it.
or maybe just maybe there not looking at it from a comparing lense and being like its an ok game
The game looks painfully boring... like i'm gonna spend $60 for about two hours of grinding before i realize its not worth it and it rots in my trash bin.. ill give it a second look when it releases buuuut more than likely...No thanks.
This video aged like fine milk lmao absolutely disastrous. Titanic
Why? I think S&B is awesome. I probably spent about 20 hours on it... far from done.
Dull people like dull things what can i say. i mean this youtuber also defended starfield so kinda proves why the dislike ratio on this video is soo high cus he clearly dosnt know what he is talking about and is just defending the game blindly.
Loading screens between boarding and going onto land??? In 2024?? 🖕
No loading screens for boarding
I'm looking forward to the game most people have their own ideas of what it should be and they're expecting it to be as you side Black flag high-res it's not you can't expect it to be I'll take a stable live service game that is not buggy and fun that can be added to over something that is broken like no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 was at launch.
I’ll play it when it’s out assuming it’s stays and looks the same as this and they don’t change it
Dude, either you are being PAID by Ubisoft to address the very real and FAIR criticisms of this "pirate" simulator.
I suggest you watch my full review of the game, you will see I am not paid... Also 1h to plunder a fort? Damn takes me 5mn at most...
If you have access to it, play Sea of Thieves instead.
and why?

This video fine like wine.
I played the open beta. It's still boring.
This game is amazing in my opinion.
maybe read the comments on the first trailers, that it isn't what people wanted is exactly 95 % of the commenters issue with it. that you like gacha games is your problem. disingenuous.
Loud majority. I've talked to a lot of people who actually enjoyed the game. Those who cried are those who thought it was Black Flag online.
I went into the beta not knowing a thing about the game. I had an absolute blast and look forward to playing it again come February 13th.
Oh look, it's ATLAS if it was made by competent developers.
Been looking at info for weeks, f** it... I have money I will buy it, if it flops life goes on. I hated the closed beta, went to the open beta with a different mindset and actually enjoyed it
Just to confirm most mmos starting off for new players are never boring its usually the mid way point when your working to end game that gets boring
Micro-transactions.
You are actually wrong about the AC thing. You refer to 2018, but way before that they had already said that it was intended to be an expansion. That was the original development target as Ubisoft themselves has confirmed and over time it became a separate title that was once referred to as "Black Flag Infinite" (MMO Black Flag), and then it became Skull and Bones closer to its reveal.
your talking out ur ass
They would been better off redoing black flag with a black beard prequel expansion. 10 yrears didn’t build excitement it drove people away and everything else advanced.
or maybe people should stop comparing it to a series it has nothing to do with just becouse there both pirate games
I can't even mention this game on X people go off on how they hate it I like it
