This dudes so good they named two guitar brands after him
Wouldn't it be great if he made a duo with a pianist named Roland Korg? 😛
Luiz Duarte lol! :-)
TubeYouScreen jajajaja
That's hilarious!!
Good one...Let’s just hope anyone with the last name Gibson doesn’t name their kid Fender. No matter how much potential of him or her being a guitar child prodigy.
Hi Martin i used too live just around the corner from Ike Issacs and met him once as a 16 year old self teaching guitarist My mum remembered my late trumpet playing dad had been in either Oscar Rabin and Joe Loss big bands and had gigged together So i got an introduction to him Needless to say he was very encouraging and although leszon were never discused hr gave me a fee tips This was about 1967 ish and i still have a song book of his which i must dig out Although i got lost in Chicargo blues i had lost of sheet music including a Jobim song book the cords blew my mind and we kept my dads vynal LPs for years until .our mum died in 2020 loads of Mel Torme sinatra Ella Fitgerald early Miles Tony Bennet Gerry Mulligan with Chet Baker etc all the modern classics as you describe them I missed you in Thurso in 2008 ? Millbank Theatre ? But i look out for your appearances im near Inverness and still playing RnB with Great american songbook Great work Martin you are an inspiration to all guitarists every where thank you bro
Master! ❤️
One of greatest jazz guitar masters
Very Nice... you remember duets with m'y brother Marc and Stéphane...
Thank you so much !
THANK YOU for playing the intro! Almost no one does!!!!
Thank you Martin. Who cares about quarantine when we can listen to your music?
Darn it , I knew this was going to be sick with a name lie Martin Taylor. How could you not be this good ? This song is so hard to make sound like that. Unbelievable. Great job. Wow wow wow .
What we have here is a master at work......sublime...
Exactly. He wrote the song, True. :-)
The sound vibrations of musical notes played well can destroy viruses.
Been waiting for the MASTER TO PLAY THIS MASTER PIECE, AND THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE.. THANKS SO MUCH MASTER 👌👍
Been amazed at this guy's playing for years. Legendary level playing here. I count only five fingers on each hand, but I hear more like 8 or 9.
Standing Ovation from Italy for you! Many thanks really appreciated
The quality of the sound is so inviting and open.
Thank you Master. Beautiful.
Played this (and subsequently another, much older vocal rendition) for my girlfriend, a pianist, and was astonished to learn she didn’t know All the Things You Are - didn’t recognize the tune at all. Happy to have your bit of conversation about what the song means to you and so many others to play for her then as well.
Beautiful sounding guitar and great rendition. Thank you! 🤘🏼
just the most beautiful thing.
I still have an old worn out cassette that I used to tape this guy playing on the radio back in the day when I was first getting curious about Jazz. Blew my mind back then, not much has changed!
Quel merveilleux standard ! Merci Martin, with love.
Thank you Martin
Martin Taylor is superb.
This is a joy to listen to.
As a guitarist myself l can less than admire the artistry herein achieved. A wink to all the great players that came before but still his own original approach. He changed the original key in order to make it guitar friendlier. Notice also the great reharmonization. Bravo!!!
a touch of musical magic to ease all the pain and chaos around us - thank you Martin!
One thing leads to another in his playing. ❤️
Love this !
Beautiful
No doubt, one of the best in the world!
one of the greatest on the planet is honored to follow your work ...
all the best ...tomislav
Thanks Martin ...youve been my inspiration ever since meeting you in Nashville during the early ninties with Jim D'Aquisto. They had just launched their strings and you endorsed them for a while. Stay well ....and thanks for sharing your talent for all these years.
A simple thank you .....
Fantastic rendition, you deserve so many more subscribers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Martin for these videos which remind us of the power of music to take us out of ourselves, particularly at a time when many people are unsure about tomorrow.
The only thing more beautiful than your guitars is your exquisite playing which takes me to a different place if only for a few minutes.
....from Australia
Pure Genius
Saw him play in the Bronx with Stephan Grapellie in the 80s. Still great now!!
Martin Taylor the 👑

Your videos are so good! Thank you for sharing your music!!! All the best!
Stunning Version! From beginning to end pure Masterness :)
Love you Martin. You are gifted.
He practises a lot and he loves it because he is fascinated with music and how the cords speak
I saw this man on the Midday Show CH9 in Aus I think when Mike Walsh was compere. I thought he was amazing then and I still do now.
Une des versions les plus aboutis que j'ai entendu. Bravo Martin, pour ce bel arrangement très inspirant!
I hear Lenny Breau in this ! Great playing .I also heard a few bars of Fly Me To The Moon
unclenote around 4:40
Yup
@@lawrencehaw8780 yes,4:40👌
Quelle belle histoire vous nous racontez dans cet impro ! Bravo.
On another UA-cam video, you show the basic principles of finger style playing in, I think it was, about 6 basic steps. This sounded like about step 47. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful! Thank You Martin.
Thankyou for putting this on. He is an amazing musician!
Nice playing
One of the best !!!
Well done! That was incredible!
Maybe it's the crushing news overnight, but I swear I hear Bucky Pizzarelli in there. Then again, I hope Bucky's soul will live on in playing to come through the ages. Just sublime, Martin.
Bucky invented chordal melody and gave countless famous musicians their start in the biz.
Extraordinary...thank you Master 🙏
You are awesome, Martin.
just great......
As always, on top of is game!!...
Outstanding Maestro!
Thanks for sharing your playing :) you are a true master of sensitive quality guitar playing. I follow you for about 28 years since a little exciting gig you had in Pargod Theater , Jerusalem. Peace and Love and good health. cheers !
Simply one of the ....if not the best jazz guitarists on the planet....if you dont believe me see what Julian Lage ...Tommy Emmanuel ..Jim Mullen...say about him !!!!
Superbe et magnifique du grand art.
Hi Martin, Just beautiful playing with so many ideas to keep this song constantly varied and interesting. I remember you sitting in with Herb Ellis at the Bull';s Head, Barnes, in S.W. London way back in the 1980s and playing this song then.
Beautiful playing ‘ arrangement 🙏
Stunning playing!
Beautiful, Martin! Wish I could play an 'impromptu solo' just like that as you can. Well back to practicing! :) Stay safe and healthy everybody!
Maestro!!!
Awesome!
Thanks so much for this, absolutely beautiful. Master!!

This is just so great. Thanks for inspiring me and making me practice like a mofo.
Nice job Martin love your rendition
Thanks Martin

keep these fantastic renditions coming martin!
Wonderful!!
Well done!
Magistrale...!
We're not worthy, we're not worthy
I stand corrected, he does an intro in D but still the theme remains in the original concert key of Ab..Amazing!!
Connection through the tritone I guess, makes sense.
Just gorgeous Man.
Unbelievable
Awestruck!
Hey Martin. Beautiful! I’ve heard you in various formations but I didn’t realize you could do solo jazz guitar quite like this. This is a big compliment, but this piece often felt like something Joe Pass might play. So few guitar players can keep it going this long and keep it this interesting all by themselves. It’s jaw-dropping to those of us who only have one or two choruses of ideas per song in our chord-melody repertoire. I especially love watching how you can find the melody note in your chord voicings anywhere on the neck, seemingly whenever you want, wherever you happen to be at the moment. Also, a shout out to the In Walked Bud quote on one of your resolutions! Thanks for the inspiration. Stay safe.
James Sidney I was just thinking Jo Pass when I read your comment.!
Have you seen baden powell play it? He has a version that he does with drums and bass but the guitar could be played solo and many other solo versions
Keep em coming !! Loving em !!
Thank you:-)
Thank you for uploading these videos, you are my hero!
Great clasical guitar music . Very jazzy , very profesional .
