I had heard that song growing up, and liked it, but it just got relegated to the attic of my mind. But then I ran across it maybe 7-8 years ago. And it blew my mind. I listened to it over and over and over. I forced my son to listen. (He was unimpressed.) I bored people at work about it. It is one of my all-time favorite songs. it has everything a person would ever want in a song, imo. It literally (actually literally, not how the kids use the words) gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it. It's a rare thing in life that could be better than that song.

Almost Cut my Hair is really worth a listen too. David Crosby .
Dallas Taylor on drums who went on to play with Manassas with Steven Stills. Neil does play lead guitar on this track. Also, the dog on the front cover was a neighborhood dog who meandered into the photo and is now a part of music history!
The short story on this band is that they were all befriended by and came together at the home of Mama Cass of "The Mama's & Papas" and that one of their very first gigs was at Woodstock believe it or not. They hung with groups of heavily talented people in the Mulholland Drive scene like Joni Mitchell, who is credited with expanding their guitar and songwriting skills not to mention dating David Crosby. Long story short, they are one of the most iconic pop/rock/folk groups the 60's ever produced...As far as other songs by them you'd like, they fall in that rarified strata like Steely Dan, when I truthfully can say....."ALL OF THEM."
My Dad hated rock vocals. He didn't think any of them could sing a lick (Except for Jack Bruce. He actually came into my room one day when I was playing Cream and said, "Now that guy can sing". They all contributed their own songs to the album. Young contributed "Country Girl" and "Helpless"..Nash "Teach Your Children" and "Our house"..Crosby "Almost Cut My Hair" and Deja Vu"..Stills "Carry On" and "4 + 20" and collaborated with Young on "Everybody I love you"..and Joni Mitchell contributed the song "Woodstock"..The great thing about this album is once you get to know their individual writing styles you can pick them out..Each song has their personal fingerprint (so to speak) on it, yet when they sing together they are as one..They really complimented each other perfectly...Such a great album..Nice reaction.
amazing works by them , Dark Star , Daylight Again , Cathedral , Turn Your Back , Delta , Guinnevere , Ohio ( about the Kent State events) Wooden Ships , Woodstock and more .
So good to see your face light up for this one. You are truly a hippie at heart...whatever that means!! But seriously I can tell that you are there for this so keep it going brother...❤❤❤
If you enjoyed the harmonies in this Lee, there are 2 Tracks you MUST Hear: "Guinnevere" from the Crosby, Stills & Nash Album (Self Titled) And "Song To The Last Whale" (Including the Intro) by David Crosby & Graham Nash from the album 'Wind On The Water'.. Both Tracks are truly 'Magical' and two of the finest moments in the history of recorded music. Peace Out!.
The vocals harmonies were The Big Thing about Crosby, Stills, & Nash and continued to be after Neil joined up with them. There's even lore about how Graham Nash came to meet Stills & Crosby at a party and he agreed to take a stab at adding his upper range voice on top of Crosby's & Stills' singing one of Stills' songs. They all looked at each other & everyone watching on, agreed that what they had heard was magical. A new "super group" was thus formed...

I'll never forget that day. 😇) BUT he did say even though he didn't like their voices individually these guys knew how to sing.
Man you really cannot go wrong with that entire Album, Epic stff
Beautiful guitars and harmony! Got to hear suite Judy blue eyes! A must!! Thanx again! Woodstockers!
Glad you dug that,Lee--cool react! And...Awesome album..Deja Vu is one banger of an album! Cheers,T
Country Girl!! 🙏
Another great band from this era: Jefferson Airplane
I forgot about them. I should do them. I know a song or two but that's it.
Paul Kantner from Jefferson Airplane co-wrote “Wooden Ships” with Stills and Crosby. Both bands released terrific versions of the song.
Welcome to the world of fantastic music!
The whole album is pure joy. I call the sound CSNY.
That's a great name for it because it's totally authentic and unique. Definitely gonna do more from them.
amazing works by them , Dark Star , Daylight Again , Cathedral , Turn Your Back , Delta , Guinnevere , Ohio ( about the Kent State events) Wooden Ships , Woodstock and more .
So good to see your face light up for this one. You are truly a hippie at heart...whatever that means!! But seriously I can tell that you are there for this so keep it going brother...❤❤❤
Don't sweat it man, it's just cool seeing your reaction to this great music.
One of my favs is Dark Star, around 1977, off of the album CSN a really jazzy tune, u will like!
