Hello friends in this video I have made a paper cutting machine using arduino and some stepper motors and custom PCB.
I have used Two stepper motors one feeds the paper to the cutter and one stepper motor slides the blade to cut the paper.
User will enter data like how many strips need to cut and how long each strip would be, from the the 2.8" nextion HMI

A good application can be plastic rectangles needed for rewinding motors, the material is a little more hard than paper, in a rewinding you require a lot of cuts for a single motor!
Cheers! I hope you put her to good work. I used to work in a shop that made road signs, they cut wax paper on full sized machines like this to stack between parts to prevent scratching. That machine will really help to elevate the customers impression of any shipped good.
Nice one! Quick and easy improvement: use a blade that cuts on the way back too. This way you don't need to drag it back each time.
Razor blades would be double sided, but if you see that the blade is on an angle.. so that it cuts down. So your improvement would make it quite a lot more complicated, as simply having a double sided blade would not solve it.

Nice work. Maybe adding a second blade facing the opposite way for a second cut would make it much faster
It’s very neat. But for a bunch of straight cuts of paper, I just lay a ruler over a stack of paper and run a box cutter across. But, I like the arduino ingenuity.

I have designed a similar system but with some serious issues. The paper has to be heavier or thick, otherwise it folds when the knife passes over it.
This thing could also be an amazing compact drawing robot. Very nice design

why is this labeled a "how to" video, you show a pcb but no way to buy it or design it or program it. you don't provide a BOM for the project either.

You don't need a computer like Arduino to build such a machine, because it is repeatedly cutting at specific intervals. You can do this by using a timer circuit only.
But arduinos are very cheap and easy to use. Why bother with timer circuits, when you cna get an nano for 2-3$ on ali
@@harisalic2568 Using Arduino only for timer is a waste because it's a microcontroller capable of doning many things. I don't think you can get arduino at the price of few transistors to build a timer.

Stepper with knife I would replace by DC motor with two endstops switches.
How about a stepper with the limit switches? That way, if it gets stuck, it will be able to recognize that it didn't reach the limit after a certain number of steps and prevent damage (or someone getting hurt). Stall detection would be able to accomplish this as well, which is technically also possible with a DC motor, but a stepper gives you a bit more flexibility. The more redundancy, the better! Especially with a device that moves a knife.

@@Blowjin A reliable way to fail safely. Sometimes you have to sacrifice efficiency for safety, especially if it doesn't hinder any of the device's use cases.

I made an ultrasonic height and weight measuring device. I wrote the codes with Arduino and arduino UNO. Normally everything works fine. But sometimes after waiting for an hour or two, I take a measurement, the device is measuring, it shows the numbers on the screen, but it does not print the result to the thermal printer. The numbers stay on the screen, then the device is reset with whatchdog. This is starting to get annoying. can you help me with this
