Hi SJ! I am 8 weeks pregnant (yay!), we have chosen the name if it's a girl but boy's names are so hard!! Could you please do a nature boys names video, but names that aren't often realised are associated with nature?!
If you’re ever considering name your child levana (לבנה) just know that it’s le va na with an emphasis on the na. and levana is the feminine version of the word white. ❤️ beautiful name!
I worked at a jewish summer camp the past three years and knew some people with these names, especially Noam, Ezra and Ezekiel, they are beautiful💗 My friend was called shoshana, And she went by shoshie (pronounced show-she) I always loved her name! Can’t wait for an update on finn :)
Jewish names were regarded best and appropriate in Islam as this authentic Hadith @ ua-cam.com/video/xyelUIK1RtU/v-deo.html from Sahih Muslim indicates.
Being Jewish and going to a Jewish school I've heard most of these names. I know a few Dinahs (all pronounced "dEEnah". I also know a few Shais but we pronounce it like shy. Lastly is the name Shira, which was the name of a girl in the grade below mine, she was named quite fittingly as she could sing beautifully!
@@evafara HI, that's very cool, I'm from South Africa! I would think it would be spelled Adinah. Many Hebrew names that usually just end in an A, will have an added H to them. All the A letters in your Hebrew name will be pronounced U, like sUn or fUn or Under. I hope that helps. I'm not fluent in Hebrew so I'm still not 100% I'm correct but I think what I said is right.
@@jessicastoch7042 Oh, thanks you very much! I know about A letters, cause in Russia our A letter spelled like English U in some words, so it's like you say)))
I love the name Zera!! Fun twist on Vera, and it would pair nicely with Veda for twin girls using more obscure letters! I’d love to see a video listing unique names using the “lee” sound! I know how much you love a strong L in names. My family has a tradition of first-born daughters having a “Lee” in their middle name, so I’m always interested to see new names that fit that requirement!
As a person who has been living in Israel for the past 10 years, I would love to suggest some of the best baby names I've come across over the years: Ahava (girl)- meaning love, or Ahuva meaning beloved Adir\Adira- meaning mighty or powerful Lavi (boy)- meaning lion Ariel/Ariella- meaning lion of G-d (and also a name for Jerusalem) Yaffa (girl)- meaning beautiful Zev (boy)- meaning wolf Anaelle (girl)- meaning G-d has answered Nadav (boy)- meaning generous Shalva (girl)- meaning calm and serenity
my name is Raisa and it is hebrew for rose. it is traditionally pronounced rye-ee-sa but my mom put her own canadian twist on the pronunciation with ray-sha. i was hoping i’d made it onto the list! it’s so unique i’ve only ever met one other person with it and the spelling was different. i’ve been picked on for my name but i chose to take it as a compliment because i think they were just jealous they didn’t have as fun of a name!!
If you like Ezra because of it's meaning, but not it's popularity, consider Azariah. It's a boy's name, but could easily be used for girls too. We named my son Avishai, "gift from the father" because I already have a niece with "shy" in her name. And btw, in Hebrew, "Shai", is pronounced "Shy".
Rivka is gorgeous!! I’ve never heard of that before. And I absolutely love Ezra. It works so well for a boy and a girl. How sweet would a little Ezra Josephine be? ❤️❤️
Here’s some other Hebrew options: Devorah is the Hebrew spelling of Debra or Deborah. So if you want to honor a family member called Debra but don’t want a baby Debbie that’s a good option. Loved the list overall! It's really interesting seeing the background info on some of these unique names!
Oh my gosh I’d love it if you did another video on naming viewers baby! I am pregnant with a little girl and would so love to hear your ideas/opinions on potential names for her. I find girls names really hard!! Levana was by far my fave name on this list. It’s one of my guilty pleasure names, I just wouldn’t be bold enough to use it I don’t think.
Hey SJ, could you do a most popular name in each decade over the last 100 years. would be really interesting to see as so many vintage names are coming back and i'd love to see which are back and which aren't. for instance 80s names might not be used now much but i'd love to know what the faves are.

ohh my name is Dina :) never thought of it as special, but when you talked about it I realized it’s not very common actually. Love your videos btw, especially this series!!
I was so excited for this one. Hebrew are so beautiful !! Dinah and Levana are so delicate and strong. In Portuguese we'd stress the last syllable in Dinah, I love it ! My suggestions are Victorian or old Latin names Xx
Hi SJ! Love your baby name videos, I look forward to them every week. Could I request a boyish but stylish and cute baby girl name video (long title haha). My current baby girl name crush is Perrie!! But I'm struggling to find similar names in the same kind of genre. Would love some ideas :) :) xx
I love this channel ❤ Just a random side note, I'm really interested in why we love baby names so much. I'm not pregnant nor do I want children, I use the excuse that I'm a writer but I don't think that's quite it.
I would love a list for those struggling with infertility or are having their rainbow babies (babies after loss)
It took us 19 months to conceive our second so we chose Samuel because it means “heard by God”

Miss Manequinn indigo was in her recent twin video I’m fairly sure!x
May I add one?
What about Lazarus? Means “God has helped”
I really like that “s” ending.
I think it could be a good Ezra alternative since they both have the cool “Z” in there.
He can be Laz or Russ for short. What do you think?
Love all your name ideas!
Cool, it's just not a hebrew name but the greek/roman version of the hebrew name "Eliezer", which indeed means "god has helped" or "god is help".

Love the name shoshana, which means Rose.
I know a little shoshana called shoshi rhymes with yoshi. So cute.
Love Hebrew names, thank u for the inspo! What do u think of the Hebrew names Nekoda or Jesse for a boy?
Late to the party. Binge-watching your baby name vids.
Do a list of names that are alternatives for the most popular names. Like oliva, Sophia, Jackson, Oliver etc
I was so excited for this one. Hebrew are so beautiful !! Dinah and Levana are so delicate and strong. In Portuguese we'd stress the last syllable in Dinah, I love it ! My suggestions are Victorian or old Latin names Xx
Unique old fashioned names you’ve forgotten about for boys and girls!
Madison Byrom great idea!
I was hoping to see Mordecai on this list.
Tikvah reminds me of the Israeli National Anthem Hatikvah. It also means hope. I love your lists of names, they are always fascinating.
Hi SJ! Love your baby name videos, I look forward to them every week. Could I request a boyish but stylish and cute baby girl name video (long title haha). My current baby girl name crush is Perrie!! But I'm struggling to find similar names in the same kind of genre. Would love some ideas :) :) xx
The Mum Hustle oooih I love Perrie too! I’ve done a couple similar but will do another one xx
I like Jonah, Shai, Ezra.
I also love Nayeli, Gal, and Ayalet.
I used to have a friend in school named Levana! She was one of the sweetest people in our class and very intelligent. Always thinking of others
I love this channel ❤ Just a random side note, I'm really interested in why we love baby names so much. I'm not pregnant nor do I want children, I use the excuse that I'm a writer but I don't think that's quite it.
