Why would anyone want to bring anyone else into this disaster that is life? I mean seriously, it's a journey marred with tedium, anxiety, tragedy and it finally ends in doom. It's like we're all swimming out into the ocean, out into nowhere, and one by one, we all sink and drown. What makes people want to pull 2 or 3 more people into the water with them? Perhaps that's a harsh way of looking at it, but when I think about how the worst is undoubtedly yet to come, and I can't really say that the "best", whatever or whenever that was, was worth it... I just don't know. I don't know why people want to put other people through this experience.
Life being a blessing or a curse depends on what cards have been dealt to you. Life can be an amazing thing that only really has fulfillment and happiness for some. Life can be a horrible that only really has misery and pain for some. It really depends on the person and their situation and luck.
Hey brother, I felt that way too. I always say I didn't ask to be here. I asked a Lakota Native person about life. They told me Lakotas say we pick our parents in the spirit world then are born to them. I have been trying to wrap my head around that one since I heard it. My personal thought. I was sitting outside and the grass just got cut. I was staring at it, it was gonna come back whether it wants to or not, it doesn't have a chance. It's stuck being grass and stuck coming back. Whatever life force causing organic growth, it doesn't stop. Even if destroyed, life tends to come back. We're all part of the same life force. It's purpose is to be alive. I don't think we humans, the life force itself, and all organisms get a choice. We die, we come back, we die, we come back. We all part of the life force. We alive whether we want to be or not. I think life itself is alive whether it wants to be or not. Life is diverse because it is a fail safe. We unsure when devastation will hit, but there's enough diversity that something will survive. I'm not religious or super spiritual But I do feel there is a big vine of life we all feed from. Sometimes I don't think there is choice It's all cycle. Good times, bad times, what goes around comes around Never ending Sucks But fun at the same time
I consider existing a good thing, but why does it have to be such a negative experience? How deep into hell does society have to sink before things start springing back to life again?

Curse, for sure. Even imagining the best life, it's still a curse. We can enjoy life temporarily with the right brain chemicals. Typically this is the most possible in youth, with optimal health and lota of proise before us. It's easier with money and success in romance. But eventually the thing that gave us joy becomes the baseline and we will sink below that baseline. The health fades. The woman leaves. The money is gone. And the distamce between that high baseline for the fortunate and the lowest possible point (being old, poor, and struggling to breathe on your death bed) creates massive suffering. Death for me, a miserable nothing, will be wretched and a low point, but I will not be lamenting leaving my loving wife behind. I will be thankful for the end being near. Life is never a gift, and consciousness is a callous accident of aberrant chemistry.
Aging is the checkmate move which proves life is not a gift. Aging is cellular decay. Your body slowly dying. There is not one advantage to aging (say after 18 or so). If we all stayed young and relatively healthy then life would be closer to a gift, perhaps.
