Iam in florida on holiday, from London, for the last couple of years I’ve wobbling all over the place while walking. Most embarrassing. l reluctantly started these exercises about 5 days ago, the result has been unbelievable, lam scared to dream that this will continue to improve.
Excellent excercises for body balance especially for individuals like me at 70. Gives us a perfect balance and makes our walking a pleasure with ease 👍
I am 66, and I don't have trouble with walking. I take very aggressive exercise classes at my gym. My problem is the trainer makes us stand on one leg and lift the other one straight out and then to the side. This is a 1 minute exercise. I'm starting to master this, but It's very hard to move your leg around like this while standing on one leg for a full minute. Is the trainer asking too much for my age?
One minute is long but not necessarily too much for your age. Two things that may help: Be sure to activate (that is tense or firm) your abdominal muscles and make sure your spine is in neutral alignment (that is, your pelvis is not tilted forward or back) before lifting your leg. Hope it helps!
Your trainer is not asking too much of you. I am your age, turning 67 in a few months. My trainer does the same. 1 minute each leg. Laughs with us even we lose our balance but it is all about proving or maintaining our balance.
I am confused. I asked my doctor why he is not sending me to an ear specialist. Balance is controlled by the inner ear. So if it is then balance issues are an inner ear issue. Why are we not being taken care of by an ear specialist. It is their field.
Balance is not controlled by your inner ear. There is an organ in the inner ear that help you with motion sense and is a part of your balance system. There are specific types of vertigo that are associated with dysfucntion and problems with the inner ear, but that is in no way the only source of balance problems.
Thank you dr Doug Weiss. God will retribute your love for those in need of physical assistance

What do these exercises have to do with the inner ear. The inner ear controls our balance.
Good recommend 👍 👍 o
Thank yo
Good explanation. Thank you sir.
Great and I don't need a gym membership.
the spine is #2 from brain so my best results came from simple exercises that include the back like push-ups and body weight rows

Is your trainer an inner ear specialist? Balance is an inner ear problem as balance is controlled by the inner ear.
That is too long for seniors.
