Great video, I'm having the same problem with wife's Rouge. Auto Zone near me said they couldn't order part dealer item only. Ordered part from Nissan using vin # and they charged me $70.00. Just waiting on a warm day out hear in PA. Thanks again
Sorry to hear that you had to pay that much l, I'm always on here so when I get comments I get notifications. If u need help hit me up on here its no problem at all. I live in Wilkes-Barre PA myself but it's not that hard to do just do it on a day off so you don't feel rushed. Goodluck!!
Indeed, great work, I just completed the replacement of the Blower resister. Warning, it is a pain in the a,, to do the job. Ask your skinny friend to help, I am a big guy and tooked me 6 hours to complete the job. This video was very helpfull for me, Thanks
@victorolvera glad to help! Check back from time to time ask if help is needed I love helping people out all I ask is for everyone to pay it forward. Do good n good will come your way take care!
I agree I explained why it's not possible plug is too short to just do that and pedals block the access to screw holding it together. They do little things like this to discourage folks from repairing it themselves vs paying a dealer labor per hr plus parts and taxes. Hope my videos helped. My blower just went ill ge repairing that in 2-3 days
Hey nice video. I have a 2016 nissan rogue I have the same problem but I have a manual switch to turn the ac on not automatic so you think the resistor is in the same spot?
Good video, thanks for sharing. I’ll be doing this weekend. Question. Why not replace the blower while you’re at it? The blower motor is only $20 bucks and from what I’ve researched it is the cause for the failing resistor, the motor starts to go and draws more current than normal frying the resistor. If you don’t replace the blower the resistor will go bad quickly.
Sorry I'm late, I thought about it but I'm waiting for parts to fail normally that way I can make separate repair videos I only do sets on mechanical jobs like shocks, brakes, axles and lighting but I don't include it in my tune up just normal wear and tear I do t want my car to break but when it does ill keep posting lol
@kikofranzful I don't know but if you can look up what it looks like you can match it to the ine in the video I don't think so but I could be wrong... Goodluck
I'm sure there's a way, but as far as testing it on the car itself no due to the lack of slack in the wires, in order to reach those plugs nissan decided to block it with the damn pedal system sorry there may be a way to use a multimeter and test it im just not that good at reading voltage etc
No, it's not a resistor it's a mosfet pack. A mosfet which is a voltage controlled transistor drives the blower motor using pulse width modulation and is in turn controlled by signals from the climate control amplifier. You need an oscilloscope, a power supply, a load and a function generator to set up a test rig. I have all of these but it's just not worth the huge effort. I have a bench rig I use to test motor control units but the fault in some of these is intermittent. If the mosfet has failed the likelihood is that it overheated due to a clogged cabin air filter. This has been my experience.
Great info, my mom car is having the sam problem. When she shuts off the AC the blower only stays on. Do you think it’s more than likely the same issue?
NOTE! There's 2 types I mentioned in the video the black one im replacing and a grey one NOT SHOWN HERE that is most likely for the cheap nissan rogue without the digital AC if yours looks exactly like mines you're set just follow the video to the T and don't hesitate to ask for help. If you get it running I'd like to know!

Great Video, I am about to do it tomorrow, I just order the part today for $67 dollars. Thanks
I sure wish you was in my state to fix mine. I’m having this same problem with mine
Would've liked to see the unplugging and plugging to new one for troubleshooting.

The blower went out today. Replacement will ve here tomorrow stay tuned for a diy video on that aswell. I'm excited!!!

Same spot just different part one fits my car the other yours

My Rogue is having the exact same problem. So glad I found this video. Can you share the part number or the link for the resistor?
Time stamp 10:48
@@ElsocraTVthanks for the quick response
I have a 2014 without the climate control, will the resistor be the same? Thanks!
@kikofranzful I don't know but if you can look up what it looks like you can match it to the ine in the video I don't think so but I could be wrong... Goodluck
Thank you for this information 😅
You're welcome hope this helps remember to secure brakes when reinstalling that's the most important part
Great job bro. Nissan wants a butt load to do this!!!!
I learned not to pay a dealership when I was 17 started learning right away.
Is there anyway to test the resistor before going thru all of that?

Yeah, mines did it for almost 2 months before I finally figured it out hope the steps help out!!
Is the 2018 rouge the same? She has a 2018. Also, did you disconnect the battery when replacing?
@lopezf81 2018 is the same part, I recommend disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. I did not as I've been working on cars for 21 years
Great, thanks for the info and support

Thank you I wish I could do mine myself tho
Thank you
You're welcome 💯
Nissan quoted me $400 for the part! No thanks.
I went to autozone I also get parts from Amazon just gotta make sure it's the correct part there's 2 different ones Goodluck
