Ryde IR Sensor

My idea for adding an IR sensor to the BATC "Ryde" receiver. The supplier confirmed to me that these sensors work between 3.3V and 5.5V. I fed mine from the GPIO 3.3V PSU as the GPIO input pins require 3.3V and can be damaged at 5V.
Wiring is:
Tip: 3.3V Power (GPIO Pin 1)
Ring: Signal (GPIO Pin 11)
Sleeve: Ground (GPIO Pin 9)
