How to Use a Wing / Lever Corkscrew to Open a Wine Bottle

Before the Rabbit style corkscrews came around, wing / lever style corkscrews were the easiest ways to open a wine bottle. The gave you guidance to get the worm (screw) down into the cork. They also gave you great leverage on lifting the cork up out of the bottle. Here's how they work.

First time I've ever done it. Thank you. Used a knife on my foil though. Easy peasy. Thank you. Just went through getting a stent in my heart artery, one of them, so fi ally decided a little red wine a day wouldn't hurt . This made it so easy without frustration.

my prblem is i cannot remove the cork from the screw afterwards

Just hold the cork and twist the opener to the left.

The worms (the screw) on these get old and dull which makes it harder and harder to get the cork back off. At some point you have to toss it and buy a new one. A benefit of the Rabbit-style one is that the worm is replaceable, so when you get to that point you just put on a new worm.
