Wow, Drew is not only an impressive climber, but seems really mature for his age. In the interview at the end, he talks about the route like a humble pro and gives shout-outs the the bolter and first ascender. That made me really happy.
Awesome effort for such a young age. The only complaint from a video standpoint is there was no long shot of him on the route where you could see the route from bottom to top, to get a perspective of how high this thing is.
That was suuuuper impressive. The kids a monster! Would have loved to see a wide shot pulled back even as he was being lowered to give perspective of how long the route was.
Soooo sick dude you looked really Strong on the whole route congrats!! This is huge!!💪💪 nice work this is really inspirational and motivational for me thanks!!
Awesome performance. This kid must become ( and already is) one of the best climber in the world. I have been there back in the days when Scott Franklin, JB and Jim Karn put the USA on the climbing map ( not to forget Toni Yaniro) and was the impressed by the beauty of Smith Rocks. Only thing to mention is the fact that the way people climb these routes most of the time now is not red pointing it but pink pointing . Means in the original term Kurt Albert only called a route red point when he clipped the quickdraws from his belt into the bolt and then clipped the rope into the draw. All climbers know how much difference this second move can make in a hard on the edge level climb. No discrediting the boy just sayin... keep pushin !
Yeah, that's what I was thinking... I didn't see him trailing a rope behind him. so unless he fixes his rope to the top and single raps down it, I don't see how he could ever be lowered regularly.
Great job Drew! I would like to add that it was not J.B. Tribout who established the route. Allen Watts was the one who bolted and set the route but, it was J.B. Tribout that had the 1st redpoint.

Made me tear up. Drew, this was incredible, you remind me of why I love to climb
Thank you for this uncut video: awesome climbing!
Powerful and determined. Mom's pride was so beautiful. Great job!

Good job man. Hope to see you climbing in the future.
Wow. Super impressive. Nice job! Love the Adam Ondra primal screams!
Two years later and here you go. You can enjoy Adam's scream on the very same route, only difference is he has on-sighted the thing...
Is there anything more pure, more beautiful in the testing of the human spirit? Great job guy's, I mean that with all that is in me.

Damn, how long was that rope?
Probably 60m; I know, 10 mths later...
He has to have a custom rope, 80+ meters. The route is 140' tall. www.mountainproject.com/v/just-do-it/109007955

Perhaps there is a rap station halfway down? If there is a rap station then he can make two raps to get down.
Fantastic climbing.
I have to commend the parents. it seems as though they have raised an awesome young man. I hope to one day be able to complete a route such as this.
Super impressive!
Go Drew!
Great job Drew!

Thats what he said. "Thanks to Allen Watts for prepping it and J.B Tribout for getting the first ascent"
The endurance needed for that seems absolutely extrodinary.....
AMAZING climb. That is a tremendous tick for a teenager.
It's a tremendous tick for anyone.
This is awesome. Half my age, double my ability haha.
Keep Killin' Smith
Where is Black Diamond .. he should get many many many sponsors .
He has this route so dialed its insane!
Just Drill It! (This route was drilled in blank rock by JB Tribout.... not a natural route)
too easy... Awesome body positioning. He looks so comfortable on the rock.
NW BAD ASS!
Holy shit 14c
guess these vids show he's not quite as out of left field as originally thought...after laying waste to the 2 hardest BPs in the country. lol
jb robot to was a good climber as is rew
This is a pinkpoint as the quickdraws are already placed. That said, still astoundingly impressive climbing
+Steppenwolf Nobody red points high 14s and up though :P
No one really cares or differentiates pink-point from red-point these days!
Pink points really are only a thing in trad climbing
