It's simply amazing that this kind of electrical energy is created by rain and tiny hail stones bouncing of each other. Enough electricity to create a 50,000 degree bolt of lightning that can jump from cloud to cloud and cloud to ground. Not to mention ignite or explode trees and telephone poles. Yet it's so beautiful to see and watch.
I am from Saskatchewan in western Canada,we are a prairie province that means it’s very flat out here .This would be small thunder storm , for a beginner like you .My wife and I sit on our front or rear deck to watch storms ,unless the wind and rain really come up then it’s back inside to watch out the windows . We grade the lightening strikes from 1to 10 . We haven’t had a 10 yet .Lots of 9s .
I was standing in front of the window with my grandson. it was a nice storm that had a visible heat lightning from cumulonimbus in the before morning. now it was closer, so we standed next to the window and then a lightning flash and BOOOOOM we got soo jumpscared and ran to the bed to hide ourselves
You've got a fan and a new subscriber, even if I can't see these videos. It's the audio that counts here, and screen reading software makes it possible to type, proof and correct my mistakes and read everything typed here. It's such a rush and so addictive. Thank you for making such amazing audio/visual content. I'll have lots of fun listening to this with Bos headphones. Heather
Storms are especially awesome at night. The sound of heavy rain is a great sleeping pill, thunder and lightning or not. What really sucks is on the day thunderstorms are forcast, around here all too often we get thus "Not everybody will see these" bullshit.
@@kpoplover36884 I hope you do that in a safe shelter. I totally understand your fear, because I've lived through two deadly tornadoes 10 years to the day apart from each other. It's much better now, and I'd even like to go on a storm chase with someone who isn't willing to get too close to these storms. If I can hear it, (depending on how big it is and where I am in relation to the storm or tornado), that's good enough for me, just as long as I'm not in the inflow or outer circulation. That's weigh too close for me. I do have to admit that the sound of whistling and howling winds is exciting to a certain extent.
I'm from North western PA and I never see thunderstorms like these. There is maybe 1 crazy storm once a summer and even then it's not always very close
Wow Dude!!! Those were some violent bolts of lightning. If I didn't know it any better,I'd say that there's a potential for some violent tornadoes. That's a wall cloud, dude!!! You guys better find some shelter underground,ok? Be safe now!!
Those weren't wall clouds, they were shelf clouds, which are associated with linear storm systems producing straight-line winds and only occasionally produce weak tornadoes.
PAweather that was some lightning dude i mean like it was crazy but wow what a storm u had thank goodness u did not get struck, just saying but i enjoyed this storm i wanna hear more.
Where in PA are you? I lived in Westchester as a girl. Now in Utah where we just don't get weather. It's too much of a desert for good thunderstorms. Thanks for posting.
I lived near Norristown many moons ago. We lived in a development over a former farmers field and we had intense thunderstorms every summer, house would shake and windows rattle. One day after a storm we had ball lightning float (about size of an adults fist) in kitchen screen door and out living room screen door.
sharppointy1 How does Utah not get storms?! San Diego is the worst... firat it doesnt rain at all in summer, then whem it rains in winter never lightning.
PAweather that is true cause i mean i would not want to get struck by lightning but chances are that if i never get struck by lightning i will never get struck by lightning.
Actually, you're so "normal", and if you weren't a bit scared of lightning, it could mean the difference between a breath followed by what could be a deadly lightning bolt. Still, I love the sound of thunder, and it's the lightning and thunder that produces nitrates to nourish and fertalize our plants and trees.
I'm forever hearing sirens during storm videos (and also in real life during storms). Is this just confirmation bias or d'ya reckon it has something to do with lightning causing damage? Have always wondered this... :)
It is probably emergency response workers going through town due to reports of small fires or blown transformers, since this often happens in severe lightning events.
@@charlaynearchambault4801 I was referring more to emergency sirens as opposed to tornado/severe thunderstorm warning sirens. :) Got friends chasing over in Tornado Alley at the moment... Soooo lucky!
Just put the camera on a tripod and leave the storm to record from one area. You keep talking and moving the cam and pausing and also using slow motion. We can see lightning clearly and dont need you to point out every flash .

Today is Monday May 23. Yesterday was one of the hottest days so far. Friday they were saying the best would be broken with strong to severe thunderstorms. But, come yesterday, they throw in that "scattered" BS, and guess what? Any storm lovers in my area got screwed once again.
Sorry, I don't get it. Perfectly normal thunderstorm from the evidence in the video, not a violent one by any indication. Lightning strike was bit bit more than half a mile away judging from the delay to the thunder, so not even close. Yet the video title promises both a violent thunderstorm and close lightning....?
youtuuba The storm had a severe warning when it hit and most thunderstorms in western Pennsylvania don't produce this much lightning. Also, in my opinion, a half mile is way too close for me.
@@jvstizzy Like they say at the Weather Channel, "If you can hear thunder, you can get struck by lightning. Lightning bolts can travel up to 20 miles with very few exceptions for longer distances in very rare cases. I once had a lightning bolt finally hit the ground 80 miles away from the main storm. It was back in 2001 if I'm not mistaken. It was terrifying, and I felt it rumble throughout my body from my feet to my chest and shoulders.
I'm just saying there's plenty more where this came from. A lot of it was during the night, too. Some photos are here: paweatherphoto.weebly.com/lightning-2016.html

2:25 nice lightning
Impressive lightning show, I love summer storms thanks dude
This guy : oh i missed that bolt :(
Me : hiding and crying under my bed
ur 100% safe in house then outside when its thunder storm.
Me: Watching YT videos as I'm listening to the thunder and peeking out my window. xD
Wow!! That sure was some wild, wicked thunderstorms along with sharp lightning 🌩!! How cool!! Glad no one was injured by these storms guys.
It's amazing what high humidity does to fuel a storm like this!!

three lightning Barrages in one day is amazing
I'm terrified of lightning but this was fascinating thank you.
Fantastic. Love a good storm but never get any thunder here.
Great footage, thanks for uploading. We get the odd thunder here in Ireland, but nothing on that scale. Never four in one day lol.
That is a lot of lightning. And loud thunder, too!
That thunder sounds GREAT over my headset!!
I absolutely love watching thunder storms. I think their fascinating. I'm from Ireland and unfortunately we very rarely see them! 😒

Nice violence. How fast did the roads dry out? By 6:18 it looks like it had never rained!
The roads dried in a few minutes and a few steam devils even whipped up. The air was so humid and new storms rolled in fairly quickly.
Lots of CG's! Nice electrical storm.
I'll try to find more, thanks
When their was a thunderstorm happening before bed i would complain to stay up til its over and then cry about it XD
