You should write a complete SOP for the full Exterior + Interior detail, the order, the dilutions, also the SOP for maintaining the ceramic coated car and coated interior. I think a lot of folks would love that, because your ways are so simple and effective, and having a complete written SOP would remove any overthinking, which detailers are known for. Simply love the way you teach things here at DIY Detail, thank you for that!
Your videos are so good and informative, I just love this channel. Thanks for all the education you give... 1. Can you "jewel" the paint with the 25mm DA and the red pad? 2. If yes, can you please do a video showcasing it? I would like to see technique, arm speed, machine speed, etc.
I usually open and close the doors ("slamming" jars the water from behind the mirror out of the housing), towel dry, go around the car with a leaf blower (get remnants of water out of the small nooks and crannies like around the license plate), and then towel dry again. With my car, an 88 IROC, I also keep the hood open to drain the louvers during the entire process. Great video, as always.
Why you guys do that to me : ( ? Im over here sitting all excited watching waiting for the coating application step and the video ends ! Love your videos is like my new netflix and been addicted to your rinseless wash. Your welcome to send me some more of it : )
I have a garage and want to pace out the labor over the course of 2-3 days since I have a large SUV, what would be the best way to do it? Here's what I'm thinking: Day 1: Wash, iron remover + decon towel, water spot remover. Day 2: Polish Day 3: Ceramic Coat Since the vehicle will be stored in a garage and not driven, is it okay to space it out like this? Or do I need to wash the car between each day to ensure there aren't any dust particles?
You will be fine, but unless you’re really wanting to take your time, it’s easy to do in a day or 2. For day 2 finish with the polish, on day 3, start with DIY Detail Panel Prep
@diydetailofficial Thank you! In that case I'll try to wash and polish on day 1 and then panel prep and coat on day 2. Excited to do my first full detail with your products!
Had a 45° day last week. Did Rinseless on both cars, took about an hour. Both cars had 8/3 stack (applied in May and Sept). Both came out like day they were ceramic coated. Did some CG on mine (Chicago winter, don't ya know).
Thank you for the video, great as always! One quick question: For a rinseless wash and decon like this, would you really need a high pressure washer to rinse? I live in apartment and don't have access to a typical high pressure washer, but I am considering buying some portable ones which provide around 500psi for the water pressure. Do you think that would be enough for the purpose to rinse off things like iron remover, etc.? Thank you very much!
Can you Rinseless Wash the Vehicle again after decontaminating instead of rinsing? like if there is no hose to rinse with. And if you can, is there a chance to get a Video on How to prep for Ceramic Coating without a hose?
Been watching some deep dives on iron remover. I see that it’s the rust, up to 4 times the size of the actual metal particle, that the iron remover works on, not the particle itself. For that to happen, doesn’t it need some dwell time? Then, the agitation from the psd towel picks out the metal. Maybe for video time purposes you jump right into agitation? If you follow the instructions on bottle, there is dwell time. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Can I ask 2 questions. The 5.5” yellow pad. Is that the outer diameter as it’s chamfered. Just making sure my 125mm makita random orbital sander. The cap on the gallon would that be the equivalent of 2 caps of the small bottle? Thanks.
I need a sheet of best practices for each product. Like using a Rinse less dampened MF towel to spread the WSR. And rinse towel b4 tossing in wash bin.
So maybe a dumb question , should I be rinsing the soap off after the contact wash before using the decon towel or leave the soap/foam on the car and start with the iron remover and decon towel? Does it matter?
Does it make any sense in terms of cleaning level og quality, if the rinseless wash solution is diluted with tap water or demineralized water? I tend to have an idea that soft water (demineralized) will have a greater cleaning effect than mineralized tap water.
@@diydetailofficialPatiently waiting the return of DIY Waterspot Remover, Im getting a gallon this time. Been out 6 weeks, obviously a supply chain issue. Great product worth the wait.
Are there any concerns or special considerations when dealing with piano black accents? Whether when using the perforated synthetic decon towel, polishing with gold standard + yellow waffle, or other chemicals / treatments?
Do you guys have a strip wash for waxes, sealants and uncloging the ceramic coat for the ceramic coatings that don't get washed regularly? Also is there a minimum temperature you shouldn't use quick beads? Thanks again. Keep up the great work!
Strip washes are a placebo at best. DIY Detail Water Spot Remover is the best option to cleanse minerals off coatings. 40f is the low practical limit for DIY Detail Quick Beads is 50f
So you're saying a lower ph of 4 to 6 being acidic doesn't do anything? I have a hard time believing that? Both low ph and hi ph have there benefits that a ph neutral soap does not. How much water spot remover would you need to do 70% of the vehicle? Is that something you can add to your wash bucket as well?
Ok that being said then why are they saying strip wash which is a ph 4 to 6 depending on brand is placebo when there water spot remover is the same ph? Obviously strip wash works and DIY just wants you to buy there water spot remover. Thanks but I'll be using a 16oz adams strip wash to see if that works. From all the reviews I've read it works like a hot dam!
I've seen a number of DIY Detail videos where you say to "Ceramic Coat" the wheels but in this video you are saying NOT to "Ceramic Coat" them and use "Quick Beads" instead. Is this the updated "Better" way to go?
Hey Nick or Ivan whom ever respond. I currently use quick beads as my main protection and incredible suds as my soap in a foam cannon. My car beads when I go in for my rinse or after my pre wash but when I contact wash and rinse my car beads half of what it did before. Some parts are even dead on the paint and don’t bead. I do iron remove and clay every six months. Any idea to why, ik it’s a paragraph but thank you!
You could have mineral contamination, they require DIY Detail Water Spot Remover, and are not removed by the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel .
Hey fellas! So why does water spot remover need to be sprayed everywhere then worked in vs. how you treat ceramic gloss or iron remove where its more one-spray method per panel?
It was with those corvette I learned that no paint is perfect. At the dealership we had a couple of those at a 130 000can with markup. One of them ended up in my bay and it had a package that included a spoiler. That spoiler had dirt spots under the paint. I was thinking in my head. You pay for a package, on a markup car and you have dirt in your paint. That hited me. Ever since no paint is perfect!
That would simply be putting 2 of the same thing on, there are no advantages to doing that. The chemistry of the 5 or 8 with the 3 on top is very different.
@diydetailofficial the problem is some videos says. We should apply iron remover monthly, some say apply bug and tar remover. Some say no products since it will remove ceramic coating.

I just finished applying the 5-3 stack to my mom's 2015 CR-V. It was my first ceramic coating. The amount of gloss is crazy!

Ideally DIY Detail Iron Remover and DIY Detail Water Spot Remover should be rinsed. You can do it with a pump sprayer.
Been watching some deep dives on iron remover. I see that it’s the rust, up to 4 times the size of the actual metal particle, that the iron remover works on, not the particle itself. We allow it to dwell after removing the metal particles.

What’s the best coating for ppf? Should I focus on durability over gloss since the ppf dulls the shine some?
The same as you use on your paint.
So maybe a dumb question , should I be rinsing the soap off after the contact wash before using the decon towel or leave the soap/foam on the car and start with the iron remover and decon towel? Does it matter?
Leave it there

There’s no need to use DI water.
Any recommendation for a water spot remover brand that works well with DIY products. I do not want to skip this step.
Unfortunately not, we haven’t tested other brands.

Most Waterspot Removers are pH 3 or 4. DIY Detail's pH isn't listed in their SDS, strangely.
