Save money and buy a used Nissan leaf. Bonus you can drive it to the store and get made fun of.
@@nedlyest
Okay, but can your Nissan leaf fit inside my Nissan leaf? Huh? No, I didn't think so!
I needed a unit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y that I could store in my home when I wasn't running, so it being light and running on propane were key requirements. I can store the propane tank/bottle outside yet store the generator in my home when it's not in use as I will never put any gas in the engine. It is so light, and on echo mode, which I expect is how it will be used most of the time, it is pretty darned quiet (certainly compared to all the generators I hear in my neighborhood after each power outage). Many of the previous reviews had me concerned that it would be difficult to start on propane, but I have to say, I had absolutely no problem at all. I primed it first using the choke...3 pulls, heard the engine want to start, flipped it to propane, and one more pull and she started. I ran it for 2 hours the first time and plugged it in my fridge. And when I was done, I put the propane tank away and carried the generator to my basement for next time.I could not be happier.
I know er're getting some of these. It's worth it's weight in gold damn near. Thank you so much for reviewing this for us.
Okay what your thoughts on the HYBRID POWER STATION vs TITAN SOLAR GENERATOR (Inverter & Battery)??🤔??
Anyone that is living off grid and in a remote area could definitely use this. I could definitely see myself using this. Thank you so much for keeping us updated on the latest technologies!
Building a house in the next two years, and we've been looking at adding two of these to our resource redundancies. Great review, totally have me sold on it now.
I think some folks in Louisiana would think this is a steal. Really nice looking we’ll built and versatile unit.
Im in Louisiana. I bout a generac to run entire home. 2500 dollars more you can run everything.
I have a 24v 150amps (3,840 Watts) power pack in a hard case. Very useful when I go camping. This thing can power a camping town! amazing!
Nice to see a real review on a great product. I had looked at the Milwaukee unit but at over $2K did not seem like a very good deal at all. This, on the other hand, is NOT a toy! I can see it working in so many places, even in the RV where noise is an issue.
That sounds like night and day compared to the Milwaukee unit!. Thank you so much for the excellent review.
This was a really cool video, thanks for sharing!
Awesome piece of kit mate! 👍
Impressive !!! Thank you for the information
I'm currently developing a model that is a bit lighter but uses 4 inch rubber wrapped wheels for easier off road towing. My design uses all the same types of plugs offer here as well as some that this does not. We pack our Lipo4 batteries and other high quality components such as the Morningstar solar charge controller are neatly organized in a similar style large weatherproof case. Our unit will be manufactured by a Veteran owned business right here the the USA. Plus as a side bonus, it will cost considerably less then this model shooting for around $3200.
This was a cool video, thanks for sharing!
It seems like the perfect thing for all my needs I just can't afford that price, I suppose I'll just have to add this one to the list of dreams.
I'm buying one !!...
Own my RV outright and it is my full time home sooo 5 G not too much .
I called the company this am ..talked to an engineer, most pleasant and helpful ... Will be taking my RV to the plant to access my needs ...cant wait
😊.
@@SilverCymbal ABSOLUTELY. Rebecca I'm sold as well. I called today and spoke with a kind lady named Juliet. She answered ALLLLL my questions. I'm using it as an APU for my semi truck so I run my fridge, tv, coffee maker, portable ac and heater while at the truck stops. No noisy engine from a generator or needing gasoline. Plus she told me it can be used while it's charging.
I really like your videos! I watched many of them and you were view really interesting and cool products many of which I am personally interested in. Thank you for taking the time to do all of this for us keep up the good work! Signoff from the desert in Phoenix Arizona Joe
WOW, it does seem like the best! Thanks
Nice unit price is on the border but need to test for actual results. But from I've seen looks much better than its competitors. And I've there's at convention. Looking forward to testing on out. I'm so glad you expressed the pei. Thanks for the video
Thanks for making these great videos. If I win the lottery, I'm buying 4 of these but in the meantime, I just ordered a Montek X1000 which seems like the poor man's version of this awesome kit.
i have the NITECORE NPS600 because in my building theres always electrical issues, 1 in the fridge connected to my samsung fridge samsung microwave. the other in my office powering up my samsung tv alienware laptop nitecore batteries and other small electronics. also very rugged not as gigantic like this 1 but i still love this review u made.
amazing vlog..
well done
Wow, looks like an incredible and top of the line product! Will definitely need to buy myself one in the coming months!
Nice video dude
The ECO Flow series also have the 12v & USB w/C plug as well
thank you for another good and informative video. I just wish the product wasn’t so expensive. Perhaps as battery technology gets better the price will come down. It’s nice to see things like this coming on the market though.
This is exactly what im needing im planning to live off grid full time
Beautiful review
Nanuk cases are the shiznit. They are more known for pistol cases here but I have a 910 for my DJI Mavic Mini.
Made something very similar for myself. I went for wood instead of metal framing inside. Only thing different was just rain louvers for rain protection. It wont do hose splashing it, and the alternator charging, and 3kw inverter not the 8kw peak. If you want to do it yourself, it will cost around 1.5k.
You should make a 'design build' video of your work, Adam. It sounds good.
concept video please my friend if you have the time and whatnot.
I think also some type of the wind source sure does blow when there's no sun - usually..
If i could buy a place with a stream that would be beautiful
..
BS Adam, its cheaper to DIY but no way 1.5K.
The battery itself would be about 1200, the inverter/charger would be around 400 at best.
Right there, it would be over 1.5K.
Breakdown:
Case: 200 bucks
Battery 300AH at 12V: 1200
BMS: 600
Solar controller: 60
LCD controller: 100
Controller/charger ??? ~ 400
Rubberized outlets (cooling fan and sensor, vents) and plugs etc: 150 bucks
Total components: about $2700
Labor: 48 hours at 25 bucks an hour (building and learning curve): 1200
And this if you bought and did everything correctly with no mistakes.
Nice video and interesting, thank you!
$5k seems like a whole lot of money when you look at the components piece by piece. You could make one for 1/2 the cost. The battery in that unit is 3600 watt hours and if that is at 12 volts that equals 300 Amp Hour Lithium battery that currently will set you back about $1000, but it will include a BMS (battery management system).
Will Prowse here on YT has some excellent videos on a DIY version.
Wow starting prices at 6000. then up to 9200.00 wow Awesome design like the box! :) I think it would be the best option to get with all the bells and whistles. Plus that solar charger and hooks up to the vehicle engine for an extra charging point is a plus too. Nice Got 9000. it a good choice!
With something like this charging with that kind of current from the alternator, I would recommend upgrading it with a larger one or have a second one installed so it can still charge the battery/batteries at the correct rate and power the vehicle
The SOC meter looks so cool
this thing is a beast although you are correct you would need a really specific use case to want something this overbuilt.
Nice power station. If I had the money and hadn't piecemealed a similar system in basic specs without the rugged features then I 'd go for something like this over other lipo4 power station units due to it's portability with rugged protection. Sure, something could be made DYI which might roughly mirror what this power station could do...the issue on my end would be cramming my system into a case, field testing it and insuring that it could withstand similar elements which would take time and personal labor. Like it.
Pro review, nice job. Liked and subd
It's a modern version of the Edison battery. Very good idea!
4:22 the side flex when he plugin that solar connector. That’s look kind of flimsy 🥺
Between this and equivalent solar which do you think is better? I love the fact you can move this unit. Charge off solar or vehicle battery. Price comparison to solar I guess would depend on your solar set up.
Think within 10 years these will be at Walmart for a grand or two? Love how tech evolves like that.
Maybe like 1 or 2 years. Yup it's pretty ridiculous how fast technology advances
Build mine with a Dual Optima Batteries 1000 cca.

Under 69 lbs. Total Weight.
Home Depot has 100 watts Solar panels if you like to improve yours.
@kangol Yeahhh we don't have 10yrs...... probably less than 2yrs they're coming with Maxine and War!!!!!
Great video. Disappointed that there is no 30A RV receptical.
Awesome review as always. Looks like a pretty cool build, especially if you need something rugged. But... for me, it just reaffirms the need to learn how to DIY these things. You can clone this build for at most 50% of the cost.
I'm aware it's not for everyone and this is already a niche product BUT, to anyone who wants one of these - learn to DIY! Study up, read everything, watch Will Prowse, save some dollars! I built one with the same idea (this is just a weatherproof toolbox/pelican case at its core) and it works great. Spent a total of $1200 (although I only need my max surge to be 2000W).
Very cool, I always love anything DIY and then you feel good that you did it yourself. I just did my own well if you saw that one and most people would pay someone else. But there are definitely times and some that just feel they can't do it so at least you have some choices. I am impressed that these guys took this to the level they did, what angers me though is MIlwaukee selling a unit thats for job sites that is not weather sealed at all! Thats crazy
@@SilverCymbal...Okay what your thoughts on the HYBRID POWER STATION vs TITAN SOLAR GENERATOR (Inverter & Battery)??🤔??
@@rudybmore6809 I think the Titan is more of a permanent choice but I would buy the Ecoflow Delta pro over a titan any day now. They seem to be just another one of those companies that were doing well and kind of just went away now. If you want features and power Ecoflow blew everyone away this year ua-cam.com/video/bfWzPPDh2Yg/v-deo.html but they dont offer a rugged solution.
@@SilverCymbal...Thanks, I heard a lot about the Ecoflow Delta but I saw the Titan power up a small RV plus then the very next day they powered up a small cabin. Can the Ecoflow do that?🤔?
You're so right and if you find that solar charge controller they used its 30 dollar one so I can imagine they are still making pretty good profit on these. My DIY one I have around 3k invested but this also includes misc stuff I ended up not using. But it is in a yellow case like theirs haha. I want to build another but just don't have the time.
$5000? Definitely a worthwhile investment that will pay back ten fold! This thing will be just brilliant in extended power down situations, if you’re going outdoors for an extended period of time, small outdoor events, off-grid and then some. Considering it has an 8000 watt capacity, that’s just outstanding! You can shop around for other multiple smaller units but this thing looks like an absolute beast and seems to be able to take a beating in harsh conditions.
That is one very nice power station! The 5k price tag is a tough pill to swallow though. Hopefully the more these become the standard, the price will come down a little bit.
@@07starman You are not the intended customers as this is more geared to things like search and rescue as you often need power but generators are simply too loud both for audio and for electronics. They would also be good for film crews to remove the needs of those multi million dollar truck mounted generators and thousands of feet of power cords to keep the sound away from the mics.
Search and Rescue often involves so many different radio setups that they need a central point that can listen and relay but a generator pumps out so much EM noise that it can put static over those radios making it harder to hear anything on the sensitive equipment. You also have cases like collapsed buildings when you need power to run tools but the sound of the generators can make it impossible to hear anyone trapped inside.
I think you need a video in restoring those truck headlights
True, those babies are 15 years old and definitely looking it. I tried a cheap kit last year and it didn't really work, I will have to give it another try. The ceramic coating I put on earlier this summer still looks great, haven't washed it even once since.
That's why I like your reviews. Straight forward and no bs. Get to the point give the good info and move on.
+1
Great review! As an RV owner I always ask why these never come equipped with a 30A receptacle to easily hookup a shore power cable to run the RV air conditioner. A 4000W unit should be able to juice 30A at 120VAC.
I'm pretty sure the initial draw would make this thing shit itself. On paper it should work yeah but in reality that's quite a surge for a very sensitive little thing.
Look up the Titan Which was pretty much king of the hill for a few years with a 30A receptacle. Just recently though, Ecoflow Delta pro came out with one that is even better. There is an entire class of high dollar dollar solar "generators" that a lot of channels haven't talked much about. They mainly focus on Jackery, smaller Blueetti and midrange stuff like Inergy that are more affordable ir portable. But If you want to handle 30A receptacles, expand capacity and be able to integrate into your home's panel during an emergency or push 240V, these bigger ones are the way to go. 2500 to $8000 (and way up!) for for a starting kit depending on if you throw in solar panels, expandable batteries, adapters, and crazy stuff like the Ecoflow comes with a sun tracking solar solar panel frame, and even a freaking integrated gas generator that turns on and off automatically to keep the batteries topped off 😯. Of course people who are capable can build their own for less, but that's not something everybody can or is willing to do thus the reason why these are selling. A mechanical engineer can build their own car, a general contractor can build their own house, and somebody who understands electrical, battery types, charge controllers, and knows where to source all the parts and the tools to put it together could make one of these too. But it's not like assembling an ikea bookshelf so there will always be a market for for these devices that are way more expensive than just the sum of the parts.
Very nice unit but too pricey. Great review!
I bought the Bluetti AC300 with much better rigid solar panels for $2k less. sure it cant be left in the rain but works great with as much and more features
Interesting unit similar to mine. I built one in a yellow Pelican case same battery specs but only max 4k AC wattage. Definitely cheaper to build your own I want to build another and keep it more simple. I have some videos on my channel of mine.
MAN OH MAN...... WHERE DO YOU BE GETTING THESE AWESOME GADGETS TO REVIEW. I LOVE THIS ONE. PIRCE LIL HIGH BUT THE BENEFITS & FEATURES DO HELP JUSTIFY. NOW THE QUESTIONS IS.... WHOSE BETTER? ECOFLOW SMART GENERATOR VS HYBRID POWER SOLUTIONS?
Thank you, I never heard of these before and a subscriber told me to reach out to them and I was able to arrange getting to trial this one. Ecoflow vs Hybrid Power? They are both at the top of their game, the Ecoflow has more power and features and I love their products but they aren't waterproof and can't handle extreme cold and really aren't designed to be in the back of a truck all day, that's where this one comes in. So they are both really great but for two different situations.
Is that solar is waterproof too ..dang that generator looks expensive but durable and eco friendly 😍
PRICE $5340 CAD I purchased a Yanmar 5700 watt diesel generator for less and you can purchase
cheap batteries from wally world add a charge controller and inverter if you want to use battery
power or get power straight from the generator
Wow! really impressive. I operate a mobile coffee van in Sydney Australia and would like to move away from my petrol generator. We use roughly 10kwh in a 5 1/2 hour period. The appliances include a 3200w coffee machine and a 1250w oven which are both very power hungry. Our Hyundai iload is idling the whole time so maybe we can top up on the go.
Would the generator you feature handle this type of power requirements?
Thx Luke
What's the voltage between the 2 hots of the outlets? 0v or 240v? If it's 0 then this is only a 12vdc to 120vac inverter, which is my guess. If it's 240 then this is a 12vdc to 240vac inverter, which would be better but then it's strange they didn't utilize the feature.
Montek comes with panels that store in unit. Can drop it, is water and weather prroof.
case: 200 bucks
battery 300AH at 12V: 1200
BMS: 600
Solar controller: 60
LCD controller: 100
Controller/charger ??? 400
rubberized outlets and plugs etc: 100 bucks
Total components: about $2600
Labour: 48 hours at 25 bucks an hour building and learning curve: 1200
Total to build on your own: $3800 with no warranty (but you know exactly how it works)
I think you will find the laser cut steel inside that puts it all together is pretty tough to duplicate. I don't make a cent if you buy one of these or don't but sadly a lot of the diy version lack the rigidity for travel. If its for stationary use, have at it, but Velcro and bungees don't hold up well bouncing around in a truck
You left out $800-$1000 for a quality 4000w/8000w inverter. I'm sure you could get a cheaper one on Amazon but it could burn your house down
Pretty much about what I have in mine and think turned out great. Things I would do differently but maybe that will be in the next one.
One note I found that solar charge controller they are using its around 25 or 30 bucks.
@@Powerpickle68 in some aspects that's still reasonable. With the total cost of mine being near the 4k mark I could design build same for way less with lessons learned on the current one.
Waiting to roll over the super and going to order one foe sure
I have a question , what kind of a clamp-on ammeter do you have that measures DC amps?
I think for small camper van builder this might help in reducing all electrical work
$ 5340 + 12% tax ($650) makes it a $ 6000 unit. 10 year life cycle = $ 600/year on cost.
My Honda GenSet is paid, get used very often and does not burn $ 600/year on gas.
On larger jobs I bill the client for the gas or he has some at hand.
If that works for you thats great but keep in mind many areas have noise restrictions or can't deal with exhaust from equipment. A lot of car detailers could use this in mobile vans and love it becuase it charges between jobs and has enough juice to run all the gear without the endless drone of a gas generator. As I very honestly said in the video, for some this is absolutely ideal and for others it's not a good fit.
I went to the website I could not find the 8000 watt unit only the 7000 watt for only $17990 cad, holy hell that's expensive could probably build one a heck of a lot cheaper great video though 👍
This is the link to the unit I showed hybridps.ca/collections/portable-power-packs. They have a lot of models
one good thing about stuff made for the US military is that it has to be made here.
I'd imagine Canada has similar rules.
Really Tough and Safe for Longer Trips in Trailer Camp
Or stay little longer in that love wooden cab in the woods.
Thank you for not calling it a damn “generator” like the other moronic brands of battery-with-built-in-inverters do.
I need something for my really big loads, glad it’s sealed.
Wow , wow, WOW! And easy to go rolling any where! Where to buy?!??
My budget is little more than the tax of this unit but it is a nice one if you can afford it.
Small power banks and solar gen's do the job for me, I won't be powering any appliances over 100w or so
Can you use this to power
off grid solar / frig-freezer
/stove and other appliances at the same time ?
Seems like that front panel could use some bracing or a thicker gauge metal.
I'm drooling.
$5k seems like a lot because it is!! Other than that this would be great for a few extra days of boondocking and not have ti listen to a generator.
Hi Silver, I have couple of questions, can you boost your car from those same cables and can you charge and power a device at the same time? Sorry, If I missed this in your video, thanks.
this would be great for film sets powering lights. no more loud and obnoxious generators
Definitely and another use they told me is popular is for military teams, they can run radios and gear without making any noise and no more running miles of extension cords.
Not really, how long would a 5,000w generator power a 4,000w light for? Maybe an hour?
the Altinator connectors are called power lock connectors, i use them in the events industry, for three phase AC at up to 800amps
That us awesome to know, I had never seen those connectors before. Super heavy duty
@@SilverCymbal Anderson's connectors are good...have them in the ute..one on the bumper for jump starting..roll up engine running and plug it in hook leads to dead car
Midland made an ip67 rated 1000w power station built into a pelican style case. .... the PPG1000. They clearanced them out around christmas for $500. I purchased 2 of them.
I remember that one, that was very nice. They should have kept going with it, they may have been a little ahead of their time with that one. What a deal you got too!
@@SilverCymbal They say a new unit is launching soon with lifepo4 batteries.
sounds so nice ...just wish S . C . would say on how long will the battery last on some applications . a continue use ... maybe an emergency use . Some type of scenario
So many of these are on the market what good is it if it only lasts 2-3 hours emergency situation I'll be bringing on a job site and it lasts 2 hours you still got to get out here power generator that will last 15 hours
When I first starting looking at power inverters, $5k would have made my jaw drop. But considering a decent 3kw can sell between $2-3k and all the other add one and accessories, this is a good deal.
I appreciate the comparison to the Milwaukee inverters. The more I see them, the less impressed I am. I feel like they made the product very niche and with a little more work could have had a much more diverse set of uses.
A. SUPER. AWESOME. VIDEO. REVIEW. WAW. TNKS. NOW. I GOT. THE PRODUCT. I NEEDED TNKS. AGAYN
It is totally awesome !
Where did you buy it
Good stuff
Awesome power station, high output.
But the place where you plug in your peripherals is somewhat flimsy.
I'm not sure which I'd rather have: this unit, or the extra money needed to buy it. It looks really cool, but major overkill for me. I definitely could imagine that there are those for whom this would be amazing and worth every penny.
nice but you can build your own if you know how build it wich is what i doing now i just making project with 1500 watts inverter and deep cycle battery 75 amp 900 watts
Nice !
Have you tried charging with all three options at once? Wondering how fast you can charge if you use car alternator and wall power?
I could mount this under a truck bed. And have my own version of the Ford generator system
Excellent Green portable energy pack with great specifications particularly recharging from solar and car . A revolutionary product . With volumes the price can be further dropped in future for large customer adoption.
I love it, better put in some more overtime hours maybe... 😆
Looks awesome! How much input can it take while charging via solar?
Wow $5,000 I will stock my propane tanks to run tri generator on propane, heat, hot water, cook, run engine and vehicle in a pinch. I can stock even more propane locked in propane price for years for this price!!! Fuels will usually go higher! No treating propane it never goes bad! Feb 2022 propane $2.00 a gallon.
How could I use 12volt dc with this unit? As in using it without activating the inverter?
Ability to deliver VARs? See: induction motor loads; motor starting torque.
Quite impressive. Is it technically possible to go below -20C with the current technology? Is this the limitation of the battery formula or simply the manufacturer's precaution?
This thing is The beast from the east. If you have a lot of disposable income I don’t think there’s a better power station out there now they do have bigger units. And if the biggest unit in this line does not to sell your power needs I’m not sure what we’re probably gonna have to go on the grid for that one
Aloha thanks for sharing
I'm happy for this review. But I wanna know whether it can be used under charging. When it's charging and you are also working can there be any problem?
