Honestly, some people don't need to be making KDP books. Publishing with spelling errors on the cover and interior. What is most annoying...lazy people copying my description paragraphs that I worked hard to produce. Come up with your own!! On top of that...copying my book title because they don't know how to be creative. Not cool! I'm just frustrated with so many people trying to make a quick buck on KDP and ruining it for the others that are trying to create a business.

I can also recommend a book series. Can all be standing alone, but part of a topic. They tend to sell eachother and only need one add for all boks. ;)

Question. I want to do a coloring book series for kids 8 and up. The first artist is Jean Michele Basquiat who painted in the 70’s before he died at age 27. I found prints of his work in the public domaine, including Amazon. My plan is to do 17 prints with text interspersed - interesting facts about the artist. On the facing pages, I will do a line drawing (traced off the print) to be colored. I want a high quality, bright, coloring book and provide an art education at the same time. Each book will eventually become part of a series. Mt question is can I reproduce these prints w/o the permission of the artist’s family. I guess the bigger question is - is this likely to be a successful idea for a mid content coloring book with ongoing series?😊

One question I always wanted to ask you is about the covers. If I do the book cover myself do I need to do the back cover also as well the book spine design? Also, should the dimensions of the paperback and the ebook be different? I’ve seen some people using KDP cover calculator for example
All ebook covers are the same size and doesn't have a back. The calculator is for creating a wrap-around cover. But there is also a cover creator within KDP where you can put your image on the front and then fill in the stuff for the back. There's more control if you create your own full cover but it's not necessary.
When creating a paperback.. there is a KDP template for designing the book cover as well as the back cover. You can design both in Canva.

Creating a paperback book is easy-peasy. Just watch a few more videos and go fo it.
I'm curious to know what's the reason people buy those logbooks and journals. Anyway, I hope you discuss more what the impact of that 37% additional cost could be for these books.
Lots of people prefer paperbacks to write things down. The printing cost is the exact reason I recommend this niche over puzzle/coloring books

You can upload your manuscript as a PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, or TXT file.

I would NOT use anything that has been purchased from one of those sites without editing. HUNDREDS of people are purchasing those exact same templates.. which means your book would be exactly like everyone elses's. 😳
Hello Sean, great video. One question, the service providers on Fiverr, when they can make such ebooks, what is stopping them from making one such book for themselves and publishing it on Amazon and earn much more? Just curious.
Most Fiverr creators normally work for hundreds of different people. They have no reason to create a book for you and then try to publish the book before you do. If they want to create a unique book for themselves and sell it on Amazon.. what's the problem? They are certainly allowed to sell on Amazon just like anyone else. It is one more person to compete with.. NOT a big deal since you are already competing with thousands of other sellers on Amazon anyway.

Quick question for you.. with the KDP rules that came out about AI-generated content, I have a couple done by a Fiverr gig and they use AI to generate my images and I did three or four myself with AI images. Should I unpublish all of those so I don't risk my account get terminated?

You guys should stop freaking out what amazon Means is that if you are using ai generated images make sure it adheres to amazon Kdp like avoiding copyright and trademark infringement. That’s it.

Hi Sean, with the latest news out today that with the new rules when uploading a book on to KDP you have to state how much of the book was produced using AI for text, images, translations. And that KDP will be removing books that have been produced using AI. Would love to get your views.
Not true
AI is great for getting ideas and for getting started. But.. you need to go through and edit everything before publishing. AI collects bits and pieces from here and there on the Internet. The end result normally sounds very stiff and un-realistic.. not to mention a lot of the facts are usually NOT correct. Any book that is entirely written using AI would likely be rejected. However, if you go through and edit everything.. there would be no way anyone would ever know AI was incorporated in the writing of the book.
So wordsearch books aren't worth it anymore?
You don't get the look inside feature though with log books :/
Creating an A+ content to make up for that will be important for sure
I've made all my A+ Content for my Low Books, I also did it for my medium books too. It's just a shame because the "Look Inside" feature is so nice @@SeanDollwet

You really need to do niche research for those there are MANY competitors and you will have to spend good money to rank. There ARE niches within those that have low competition and good volume. But you REALLY need to do your research. Самое лучшее если ты найдёшь кого-нибудь на кворке или Спабе написать книгу, потом перевести на английский маркет. У меня две казашки пишут книгу за $50 каждую. Я их переделаю на английский и даю 2 английского говорящим людям их перечитать и сказать что поменять или добавить. За меньше чем $200 великолепные книгу получаются.
