I’ll never forget watching this game with my friend who is a big KD fan. After Curry (my fav player) hit that shot I ran across the room screaming. 🐐 status
There's another important detail leading up to this game that a lot of people forget. When Steph scored 51 on Orlando the game before, which was on a Thursday night, he broke Korver's record for most consecutive games with a 3. In the hours that followed, Bleacher Report published an article about an interview Oscar Robertson had on ESPN Radio on Thursday morning. In that interview, Mike & Mike asked Oscar what he thinks about Steph and the modern NBA, and Oscar said he didn't understand all the hype about the 3 point shot and said the main reason Steph is succeeding is because coaches are afraid to tell their players to defend. So yea, you could say Steph had a little extra motivation coming into this game
Yes. The comment by Oscar Robertson was dumb on it’s face, but was missing another point. Guard him too well on the perimeter, he’s going to get around you with unreal ball handling and make an impossible basket in the paint. One of the best in the league scoring in traffic in the paint. That part of his game, for some reason, gets overlooked. It seems like Robertson and all those who say he’s “just a three point shooter” aren’t watching the games. And as if someone who makes 900 points a year off threes is “just” anything. Please…
I will never forget this game watching with my father. Last NBA game we watched together before I went to military training. He's a Durant fan and keeps trash-talking me while I'm preparing our lunch that time (PH time). He became a Steph fan after that game (bandwagon) hahaha. Good old days. I saw this game live in a bar in 2016. I don't really watch basketball at all but I remember seeing this shot live and realizing how amazing Steph really is. I'll never forget that!

I watch him that time when I was still 12 years old, and I'm totally impressed on how he play the ball. Just wtching him drain that insane game winner make me stand on my feet. And since then, I really don't regret becoming an avid fan of him and the Golden State Warriors since 2013. I never thought someone can change the game like MJ did, until Steph Curry shows up and do magic. Yes, I've never seen Steph in person, but I know he is really a great guy and that one of a kind teammate that you want to be always play with. In all of his down years, he never gave up. And as a result, look at him now. Steph really is indeed, very inspirational. *Not just me, but we are all - very proud of what he accomplished. I will be, and always, be a fan of him.*
I remember watching that game on TV live. Saturday night prime time. I was awestruck of that game. Instant classic. Watched that game on DVR afterwards and was still in disbelief. Steph is greatest shooter of all time.
I remember exactly where I was. I was leaving the gym with a friend and saw the game was on. I watched about a few minutes of it and this shot happened. I always thought about how lucky I was to have seen it and I felt like it was a special moment.
My favorite game from Steph (54 @ MSG is close). I’m glad you touched on how special this performance was. The difficulty of the shots, the efficiency, the fact that if he wasn’t blacking out that night GS would’ve lost, the fact that his problematic ankle got severely stepped on. If someone doesn’t know who Steph Curry this game shows his whole resume. 💯
I am so grateful to my adult son introducing me to Steph Curry's game about 4 years ago back when commentators often called him the Baby face Assassin. I've been a huge fan ever since and was watching that Legendary game against OKC when he sprained his ankle and came back as a Savage. I remember watching Iggy grab that rebound and knowing before it had even crossed half court that Golden State had won and that Steph was the one to do it.
I was keeping track of the score on an app and saw that GSW was down almost the entire time. I finally went downstairs and turned the tv on with 2 minutes left of OT. And then woke my parents up from screaming. One of the best nights ever

Having been lucky enough to have him in the team I’ve been following all my life. This guy hasn’t stopped amazing us all these years later. The reactions he gets out of crowds when he hits a game winner is priceless.
Back in high school is when I first started REALLY enjoying the sport of basketball, playing pick up games at my house or at the park, making a ton of new friends thru hooping. My friends and I watched so many games together, and we can all agree this was the craziest regular season game we’ve witnessed. Absolute greatness
for me , the moment i knew he was destined for greatness was that NCAA March Madness game in 2008 against Gonzaga where he dropped 40, he was unguardable with his 3s. While everybody was perfecting their dunks so they could be on ESPN sports center , Steph was perfecting his shot.
I love Steph. He’s the greatest. Haters want to diminish his skills and say he’s just a great shooter, but he’s so much more with his dribble ability and vision for the game. Straight GOAT and well earned. He’s up there with MJ in my opinion, the two greatest basketball entertainers in the history of the game. They were both just great and respective GOATs of their generation.
This season and that shot is literally exactly why 2k sports came out at the end of regular season and implemented the "break the game" weekend where they changed Currys in-game algorithm where once he passed half court, you could pull up anywhere and 90% of the time it would go in... no one else in the history of 2k has ever made them do something like that. Not even LeBron
I sadly couldn’t watch this game live it wasn’t on TV I could only keep track of the score but when I first saw it I was amazed Steph is now and forever will be the GOAT shooter
Been a long time warriors fan, watched as he struggled with his ankles, watched as they nervously transitioned to a new coach, and watched them turn into what they still are today. It starts with Draymond and ends with Steph, look for the warriors to do it again this year
A little well-deserved love for Mark Jackson and his pronouncement about Steph and Klay. Jackson knew what he was looking at. And I had a little cognitive dissonance hearing the OKC fans cheering for Durant the way Warrior fans do for Curry. He was really beloved there -- until he wasn't. Great storytelling in this vid. Well done!
I was 7 years old (13 now, also the biggest dub fan ever) and me and my dad were at our friends house, I was sitting on the couch by myself watching this and when he hit the shot I yelled for my dad. The End
I'm just honored that this happened in our generation. I never play basketball under the rim like how it was used to be played, but seeing someone shoot, and changing the game with his playstyle, just makes me happy that I play basketball.
I remember being 9 years old!! And watching the second quarter of that game and was like “yea imma just go to sleep because no way are they coming back” I wake up the next morning and my dad asked if I watched the game last night and I said no but ik that okc won then he said “ no that was the craziest game I’ve ever watched in my entire life” and to turn on the highlights of the game that second lol 6 years later and I still remember it vividly
Dude, I love that you displayed every possible angle for that winning shot. Every video I've seen always show the same angle. Great portrayal of Stephen Curry! Keep it up!
Bruh I remember being annoyed I was unable to watch the game because I was on my way to Applebee's with my family but I literally walked in there at the exact moment that final play happened watching it on the TV over the bar and it was dead silent and then everybody in that restaurant went crazy when the shot hit, heard the double "BANG!" .. and that was all I needed to see to know that man was truly the 🐐... 🙌🏾👏🏾
I saw this game live, and the funny thing is when I saw him pull that last shot, there was 0 doubt in my mind that it's not gonna go in. Greatest shooter in the history of basketball!!
I am an OKC fan, and I remember I was at my friend’s house and he was a Warrior fan. Obviously GS was on their way to 73-9, but I had faith that OKC could beat them. When Steph went down, I was as confident as could be that they would win, we even almost turned the game off. When Steph came back and started going off, I felt that uneasy feeling that every fan gets when the going gets tough. When KD fouled out, I was pretty much just praying that Russ could pull it through. Then Steph hit that shot, and I swear the double bang haunts me at night. My friend was ecstatic, and I was mortified. I hated the Warriors so much from then on out. Fast forward and we blew a 3-1 lead in the WCF. Again, I was depressed that we couldn’t pull through. When the warriors blew their 3-1 lead in the finals, it made me feel a little better considering they didn’t win that year. That made it all worse when KD left to GS. I thought my GS hatred ran deep in 2016. Safe to say that I was not ready for 2017-2019.
i remember all of these moments watching that game live at that stadium as a warriors fan was crazy and i’ll never witness anything like this ever again in my lifetime
Man that game was one a stayed up for to catch live. I live in England so it can get a bit late over here 😅 But damn that's a memory I can't forget. Also quality work as always doubleD.
The moment Andre Iguodala grabbed the rebound, I kept thinking: call a time out, call a time out, why aren't they calling a timeout? I see the shot and I say to myself: I can't believe that's the shot that the Warriors are going to take. And then seeing the shot go in was the almost amazing thing. A feeling I will never forget.
Another amazing vid and This calendar year was crazy. This game,.the west finals, the NBA finals and then Durant signing it was a crazy year to be a warriors fan.
I think that Steph has been the best/greatest shooter of all time since the 2012-2013 season. I even think an argument could be made he was the greatest shooter (in terms of raw shooting talent) the moment he stepped into the league.
For some reason the commentary sticks with me from this game, because on certain shots it almost felt like Mike Breen called out "bang!" before the shot was even through the hoop. Over the years I've continously rewatched these clips and paused at the exact moment he said it, and the ball wasn't in yet. He knew that he wasn't missing. Miraculous.
Great video man. Your storytelling style is great, you do a great job of building up to big moments but don’t go way overboard with it. This deserves way more attention
Very well put together video, I wasn't aware of that game tbh so it was a real treat to have been brought up to speed on it all. Thanks a lot, great job!
My one regret has to be not watching basketball during that 15 16 season and not wathcing this game live. Never making that mistake again. I am wathcing every curry flurry, curry eruption and curry clunker until this man play his last game of nba ball. Never again bro, never again
Wow, I haven't seen this video before... thanks to UA-cam for putting it on my home page. I remember this game so well. I've been watching the Warriors since 1973 and I remember posting online in November of 2009 (his rookie year) that Curry was certainly the future of the Warriors. On this day, a good friend of mine was having a farewell party as he was moving from SF to Seattle for work. He organized a two-stop night in Oakland, and we watched this entire game at Drake's Car Wash (really a sports bar). The place was going more and more crazy as the night went on. I still remember that instant when I saw Steph picking up his dribble for the BANG BANG shot and thinking, "Oh s*it, this is it!" I actually had my phone camera out and rolling for it. The announcer made some estimate for the distance that I knew was way low because I had just re-familiarized myself with the court dimensions. No announcer would be so far off today... they can't be! This game went from my instant regular season favorite to everyone's, and now you're adding on "The moment Steph became the greatest shooter ever." I just gotta thank my pal for getting us all out that night.
I was at this game and I’m a warriors fan and when he hit this I went crazy and the whole crowd was silent and I remember the commentary word for word from the end of this game
Shoutout to everybody who was a fan of Curry before all the hype about him. I’m 21 now but when I was in the eight grade (13) I was a huge Curry fan. He made me want to be an NBA player along with MJ, Bron & more. Curry is the most pure shooter in NBA history. That’s says a lot considering we have Ray Allen, Kobe, Reggie Miller, etc. #DubNation forever
My favorite Steph Curry 3 might always be that one against the Clippers but yeah, that one against OKC is where he cemented himself as the GOAT to me. That Clippers shot you could have looked at that day and said "well, that was some lucky bull" but he stepped into that OKC dagger like he was in a mission to jam the blade through your heart and that's pretty much what he did. The air in that building was gone after he hit that. Those OKC players were in straight up disbelief just like the rest of us.
He's the reason we ball in our place I remeber this game we were in hostel so my buddies bunked the school hours and snek into our dorm hall and witness this awesome moment ..gsw forever
The warriors games were so hyped and exciting, we attended a watch party at a cool theater in Oakland, The New Parkway, which featured sofas, beer pizza and popcorn. This game sold out and was the theater was packed. The atmosphere watching this with several hundred warriors fans was incredible. The staff literally left the beer counter empty in overtime everyone gathered to watch. It seemed like we lost the game, then incredible saves. An Oracle playoff feeling, maybe only matched by actual playoff games (we attended Oracle arena watch parties) that year and the We Believe win vs Dallas (we attended both). Nothing quite matches We Believe Oracle, but this was close.

And I had a little cognitive dissonance hearing the OKC fans cheering for Durant the way Warrior fans do for Curry. He was really beloved there -- until he wasn't.
Great storytelling in this vid. Well done!
This video was literally amazing. Holy cow bro this was so informative and also really well done. Earned a new sub fasho
I saw it with my sis and a homie at my living room.
Fire vid bro, nobody can talk about Steph like you do
I don't follow basketball as much these days but I followed that season, saw this game live. Will never forget.
I was 7 years old (13 now, also the biggest dub fan ever) and me and my dad were at our friends house, I was sitting on the couch by myself watching this and when he hit the shot I yelled for my dad.
The End
Awesome video. The editing on the shot was beautiful. Your content is always so entertaining!!!
I'm just honored that this happened in our generation. I never play basketball under the rim like how it was used to be played, but seeing someone shoot, and changing the game with his playstyle, just makes me happy that I play basketball.
This video was so well done. Incredible job man.
This video earned you my sub dude. Amazing composition!
I watched this game live with my son, and I just remember looking at him after every shot. It was crazy and it was a Saturday night game
i remember all of these moments watching that game live at that stadium as a warriors fan was crazy and i’ll never witness anything like this ever again in my lifetime
At last, a Double D WORTHY Video
This has to be one of the best videos ever made on basketball. Been rewatching this video. Literally with tears and goosebumps all over me.
Gave me chills all the way through , man you’re good at this 😂😂🔥
Man that game was one a stayed up for to catch live. I live in England so it can get a bit late over here 😅
But damn that's a memory I can't forget.
Also quality work as always doubleD.
Your videos are phenomenal 👍🏻
The moment Andre Iguodala grabbed the rebound, I kept thinking: call a time out, call a time out, why aren't they calling a timeout? I see the shot and I say to myself: I can't believe that's the shot that the Warriors are going to take. And then seeing the shot go in was the almost amazing thing. A feeling I will never forget.
Another amazing vid and This calendar year was crazy. This game,.the west finals, the NBA finals and then Durant signing it was a crazy year to be a warriors fan.
look at curry man, so inspirational
This was an AMAZING VIDEO MAN. Loved it! Keep up the grind D!
Dude, what a video. I'm from Brazil. You created an emotional video that made me cry at The end. Realy realy realy good.
Remember watching this game with my family. Great bonding moment with my dad.
My one regret has to be not watching basketball during that 15 16 season and not wathcing this game live. Never making that mistake again. I am wathcing every curry flurry, curry eruption and curry clunker until this man play his last game of nba ball. Never again bro, never again
I was in Grenada, my 1st year of medical school. Staying up late until 2 am to watch this game. So worth it
I watched that game live at home. I'll never forget this game or that "nail meet coffin" shot Steph made🥰
Wow, I haven't seen this video before... thanks to UA-cam for putting it on my home page.
Greatest shooter of all time!
I watched this game, will never forget that shot. What a performance!
At this point you don't even need to see the play just hearing "BANG, BANG WHAT A SHOT FROM CURRY" is enough to get the goose bumps going
“He’s got a FMVP, you know not a lot of people have one of those” i think i know where this is from 😂 haters
LeBronGAWKERS. 😂
That second "bang" had so much genuine emotion of wonder and joy that it might have made Mike Breen the greatest NBA announcer ever.
Classy and entertaining, thanks for the video brother!
“Curry from downtown” never gets old
Curry broke Alot of hearts with that ban ban bang and the he finish with a special dance ❤
I'm a fan. I binge watch his plays or any plays whether they win or lose. So fun to watch his plays besides other big players too.
He's the reason we ball in our place
I remeber this game we were in hostel so my buddies bunked the school hours and snek into our dorm hall and witness this awesome moment ..gsw forever
This video was amazing a brought back feelings of watching this live. Thankyou
And now he has done it again on the biggest stage of them all, with the whole world watching. 🥇
What.. a.. Video dude! That ending gave me goosebumps!!
Phenomenal commentary and editing. Liked and subbed
Your talent to narrate the history is unreal! Nice done
