- ASMR Unboxing Dekoni Elite Earpads & Review. Should you buy them? For me i found them too firm. I can't imagine them breaking in and providing comfort like the originals did for 5+ years.

My name is Dmitri, i live on the Gold Coast Australia. I remember a tingling sensation i would experience when i was young, as i grew i found i could trigger the experience when i found the right set stimuli like the tone of a person's voice, gentle massage, watching someone focus on a task. This was before video and internet were in the same thought range. Over time i found and experienced many different situations to learn about all the different triggers for ASMR. I translated that experience & combined some innate ability to help people experience it with the high quality studio recordings to bring the highest quality tingles i can.
ASMR is a tingly feeling the commonly felt in the scalp area and often down the back and other parts of the body. ASMS is commonly experienced through a soft spoken or whispering voice, ear to ear sounds or binaural sounds, watching or experience massage, plus a Variety of sounds like tapping crinkle scratching.
Some of the benefits of ASMR might be sleep relaxation reduce stress and anxiety
I specialize in no talking ASMR video's focusing on ASMR sounds, i try to create different video for all the different preferences people have. Some of my role plays are based in fictional characters like Dr Dmitri & Manwelle
I loved watching massage video to experience ASMR so i like to create video to replicate these experiences with other, like head massage, back massage for total body relaxation.
What is ASMR ? A theory
When your cranial nerves receives information in the form of sight, sounds & Senses your brain may process this information as let us say a "trigger" When you cranial nerves find that perfect combination of "Triggers" it activates the full effect of the parasympathetic nervous system almost like a symphony neurons hitting the perfect note as wave after wave of feelings cascades down the nervous system down the spine and to many parts of the body
I believe it may then releases one or more of: oxytocin, acetylcholine, GABA, Serotonin, endorphins directing into the brain and blood stream Instantly relaxing, clearing cortisol, adrenaline and soothes the body.
There is another side effect of this symphony that it puts the brain into a alpha state and after the person falls asleep allows them to access a deeper delta level state during sleep.
This theory idea was put forward to me by a very special person, i believe they have a insight and understanding of ASMR that even i do not have.

Dmitri, you may have wanted to keep those interior foam discs. Taking those out will actually change the entire sound signature of the headphones. You might like them without, as well, but I hope you didn't throw them away in the case that you want them back!
This makes 558's "foam mod" look like high-tech stuff, whilst here all you need to do is twist earpads and simply pull out 2 pieces of foam.

Perfect time to upload! I was just about to sleep and wanted to watch some ASMR
I've been using ZMF sheepskin, also was firm at first.. wear them for a week and they'll get softer. The sheepskin has medium softness. Cowhide are the stiffest and protein leather (eggshell) are the softest. You basically get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for, except dekoni pads are expensive, some of them like the sheepskin are more expensive then zmf pads

I have the same headphones as Dmitri, just the green version. I did an unboxing on my channel all those years ago too. They have been the greatest headphones I have ever owned. Still perfect.

You should keep the foam in, because it keeps you from hearing the distortion a bit, because your ears are touching the plastic also, it keeps it more comfortable.

I wonder which of those are better for AKG's. factory velour (the ones that were ruined to a point of no return) or replacements ones, with foam and sheepskin (as it was written on a box)
I use the beyerdynamic headphones, theyre great :)
If you get some new velour ones, try putting them on a headphone stand that will stop the two ear pads from squishing each other. That’s how I have protected my Q701 original pads and they still are comfortable after 5 years of owning them.
Maybe clamping force is increased slightly due to the thicker pads. Looks like these new ones are meant to stop the ear getting squashed but has to put the force around the outside
You should try the Brainwavz pads. I have the PU leather version on my AKG and Sony MDR. They also have velour versions.
Haha wow, those old pads remind me of the ones on my Sennheiser HD600 that I replaced earlier this year. They had to be at least 15 years old.

Woah, weird, I just got my first set of dekonis today and then I see this.
Silicon gel cups are the way to go, it’s like a pillow on your ear, they don’t last nearly as long but the comfortability is unbeatable imo.

Dekoni pads are usually decently comfortable. They are real winners because of their durability and the effect they have on the sound.

Yeah, leather isnt comfortable when they are flattened like that, instead of rounded.. Tried it and hated it myself some years back.. Although having less hair on your head can honestly make headphones feel... More prominent??? Everytime I get a haircut, I feel the stiffness of the headset, and my ears get kinda sore, due to the lack of natural padding.. Lol... Velour is softer but doesn't cup the sound as well tho..

The break-in can be up to 100 hours depending of quality and material, DO NOT judge it before you have had them on at least for 20-40h!
