Also, Daniela tumbled INTO the fulltwisting double back; she does roundoff whip flick into full-in which is MUCH harder. This is astonishing and incredible and truly one of the best pieces of athleticism and artistry ever combined, the likes of which we will, sadly, never see again:(
The best floor routine EVER! I could watch it again and again (and I do). Artistry, difficulty, grace...and she does it with such ease. Dani never ceases to amaze me.
This routine definitely deserved its ten. The music, her artistry and expression, the difficulty....plus I've seen her perform this same routine at the same championships and stick that last pass exactly. And remember, the judges threw tens around like crazy back then and the previous 2 Romanian girls were also given tens so they kind of HAD to give Daniela one too.
I love this routine to bits; one of my favourites EVER. That Romanian team in 1987 were just dynamite. Whenever I see Nastia doing her floor routine now, I always think of Dani, because of the music:)
Balletics, dance, tumbling and gymnastics. My most favourite routine ever. Next best clip for me is the Title against Elena in the 1988 Olympics. I was glued to the tv as the girls are similar age to myself. Big fan of 80s gymnastics. I believe she gave her leotard in the very clip to her daughter Ava, another up and coming name to watch.
mary gh Whip to full in on the first pass, TWO double fulls punch front for her second pass, and another full in for the last. I don't know how with Daniela Silivas, Aurelia Dobre, Camelia Voinea, Ekaterina Szabo, Celestina Popa and Eugenia Golea, the Russians still managed to beat the Romanians that year. Voinea did a perfect double layout punch front.
+Vette gaddia Huh? Romania upset the Soviets. This competition didn't really go as well as the Soviet Union had hoped as Shushunova's golds on the Vault & Floor Finals were the only gold the Soviets won. AA, Dobre gold. UB, Thuemmler (GDR) and Silivas gold; BB, Dobre; FX, Silivas & Shushunova.
@@carascottvo You're soo true! Unfortunately😢. Today's routines are just boring. OK, many of them are difficult, too. But there is no longer the joy and the enthusiasm of the girls. I miss Dobre, Raducan, Podkopayeva, Boginskaya, Shushunova, Szabo, Najmuchina, Davydova and many others. They had created little pieces of art. Time hasn't changed for the better since then...🥺
Wonderful video, perhaps the best team final ever and how amazing were these gymnasts!!! Those floor routines are infinitely better than anything we see today. Thanks GYMANGELS!
In italian language Gymnastics is translated into "Ginnastica Artistica". This is not only an acrobatic exhibition. there is a taste that makes it... artistic and beautiful. Thank you Daniela
WOW!!!!!!! i am impressed!!!!!!! i dont know all the elements and their difficulty BUT it is impressive!!!!!! and in between all the "jumps and twists in the air" great "dancy" movements. LOVE IT:)
This was a time when artistic gymnastics was still exactly that, artistic. It is still an amazing sport but the artistry has had to give way for difficulty sadly. I love gymnastics between 1985-1989, in my opinion it was the greatest years for AG... I can watch Daniela's FX over and over as well. She had it all!
Hello WSggs, I think you are the same big fan from daniela silivas like me,I ,m from Holland and I shall translate my previous comments, I write; Daniela you have write history at Rotterdam!
I think this was the best form Silivas was ever in. She was so well-conditioned, legs always straight, jammed together, toes pointed and the height of her tumbling. Fantastic!
you know I was just looking at the video and (why)? Silivas was so great and i just had eye opening experince,,, watch her first pass whip thru to 2 back handsprings full in pike ok now WATCH the landing postion,, she lands and that moment when she lands she takes a pause the slowley salutes the judeges with the arms going back and its FUCKING AWESOME i have never since here in 2012 seen a gymnast do this its SOOO controlled and relaxed and (meant to do that) LOL
@Shakeshack78 The beginning is similar to Nastia's floor music from 2008. "Dark Eyes" if I'm not mistaken. The second part is from Gina Gogean circa 1994.
Back when artistic gymnastics still had the artistry...sighs I don't mean the men and women nowadays are no less artists but it is all about the difficulty and they have to throw in so much difficulties and all these different elements there is no room for dancing anymore, makes me a bit sad. But I love watching it still!!!
HEY...this music is the SAME as Nastia's current floor music, at the beginning anyway (listen at :25)...the actual orchestra playing it is just different! COOL!
and deserving. I would love to see performances like this in more graceful settings. With a nice stage, floor, appropriate dress etc. I think some of the beauty of the movements are lost in this Olympic setting. But anyway, amazing !
I dont think she was past her peak at Seoul: she was the first woman to ever do a fullinfullout and had it named after her. She did it in floor Event Finals but stumbled slightly on a deep landing. Showcasing an element never done before is hardly being "past her peak" is it?And her beam routine got a "10" as well, and her compulsory floor!!
Also, Daniela tumbled INTO the fulltwisting double back; she does roundoff whip flick into full-in which is MUCH harder. This is astonishing and incredible and truly one of the best pieces of athleticism and artistry ever combined, the likes of which we will, sadly, never see again:(

Meraviglioso, elegante ,espressiva, graziosa, tecnica, questa si😮 chiama ginnastica artistica .
Very few athletes before or since Silivas could command an audience and get their support so quickly. Daniela was captivating. So special
it never ceases to amaze me how the gymnastics from 20 + years ago is so much more compelling and artistic than anything we see today . Bravo Silivas!
This is without a doubt one of the greatest floor routines of all time. The acrobatics, the dance, the virtuosity, beyond simple words.
forever in love with Daniela Silivas, no doubt shes ONE OF THE ONES, a true legend a living legend of Gimnastic wow THE BEST
xD
This routine definitely deserved its ten. The music, her artistry and expression, the difficulty....plus I've seen her perform this same routine at the same championships and stick that last pass exactly. And remember, the judges threw tens around like crazy back then and the previous 2 Romanian girls were also given tens so they kind of HAD to give Daniela one too.
This is for me the best gymnast of the world!!!!!!!
I love this routine to bits; one of my favourites EVER. That Romanian team in 1987 were just dynamite. Whenever I see Nastia doing her floor routine now, I always think of Dani, because of the music:)
Gift, flair and great difficulty at the same time, a terrific combination.
Born to gymnastics
Daniela I miss you.
I love how the crowd appreciates and cheers her overall floor work, not just the tumbling!
I remember watching this live, just before becoming a competitive gymnast myself, so inspirational. One of my favorite routines ever.
Fantastic gymnast, wish she'd won all around in Worlds or Olympics, but definitely one of the best ever.
Regarded as the best floor gymnast of all time. She had incredible lines and artistry. BRAVO Daniela!!!!!!
Amazing Daniela! I love her forever! She is unbelievable! Very interesting to watch! I wish she could get to read my comment.
mary gh Whip to full in on the first pass, TWO double fulls punch front for her second pass, and another full in for the last. Vette gaddia Actually the russians didn't beat them. Romania won the gold medal in Rotterdam, becoming world champions.

Very gifted gymnast. Amazing. The lines the technique. Amazing.
I love this exercise soooooooo much, the first pass is the best I've ever seen. Daniela, you were such an amazing gymnast, the best ever.
This for me was the best floor routine Daniela ever did. Awesome!
i’m more mesmerized by how beautiful her ballet technique is. it really is in the small details where Silivas shines
So true. I think with the new code of points, we won't be seeing this again. It really makes me sad- it's just not prioritized anymore.
@@carascottvo You're soo true! Unfortunately😢. Today's routines are just boring. OK, many of them are difficult, too. But there is no longer the joy and the enthusiasm of the girls. @@aspiethecat4475 Agreed! That was a great balance between tricks and art. Silivas’ floor x in 1987-88 was a tour de force! ♥️
i was born in '87 makes this year amazing with Ms. Daniela's talent. Beautiful and I love Dark Eyes.
Yes you are correct. This was a phenomenal routine, filled with original elements, I especially like that floor turn.

Solul meu favorit ! Bravo Daniela ! My favorite floor exercise !
It is up there with Olga's Uneven Bars and Nadia's Beam among the greatest moments in gymnastics. One of those "wow" moments.
Well Nadia take 4 10s on uneven bars She is beter than Olga in evrithing.
One of the most original and artistic gymnasts in history:)
this is my fav floor routine.... daniela was AMAZING in this performance....
WOW!!!!!!! i am impressed!!!!!!! i dont know all the elements and their difficulty BUT it is impressive!!!!!! and in between all the "jumps and twists in the air" great "dancy" movements. LOVE IT:)
I just love it. One of my favorite floor routine ever ! Dana was so great -3
I can’t believe this, it is amazing

This is the best floor routine in the history of gymnastics. She is extraordinary ❤❤❤
Best Floor routine ever!
Beautiful!!
omg it is just perfect !!! artistic acrobatic thanks dany !!!
Parabéns! SOU TEU FÃ !
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
One of my favourite floor routines of time. I was gutted when she lost the Olympic title to Shoushounova.
Her compulsory floor at the Olympics was absolutely amazing.
Second that!
That was amazing!
Still my favourite floor routine of all time
I love how she mounts and dismounts with two full twisting double back pikes.
Good sht...1 of the BEST routines EVER..thus..she's still my #1 gymn ever..she was such a big beal!
the music in the beginning captures the tension of this routine and the tension of the competition.
just glorious!! she looks GREAT here =) what a beauty!!
((ps-- by calling this vid "team comp" I originally thought it was compulsories. fyi!))
Hello WSggs, I think you are the same big
fan from daniela silivas like me,I ,m from

comments, I write; Daniela you have write history at Rotterdam!
She invented the Silivas. Which is the hardest move in women's artistic gymnastics today.
daniella you r he best gymnast !!!!!!!!!
I love Nadia, but here Daniela is in a class of her own.
Me too, you r the best!
Wooooow
Daniela, you are still my big STAR!!!!!!!
My fav ever! ❤️
I think this was the best form Silivas was ever in. She was so well-conditioned, legs always straight, jammed together, toes pointed and the height of her tumbling. Fantastic!
very good solid routine , a full package.
Extraordinaria Daniela.Es increíble la elasticidad que tiene.
What a great routine
bravo Daniela!!!

I never seen that knees twisting!!!❤❤❤
Fantástico....
so graceful
holy cow!!!.....now that was very impressive.
bravo daniela e uimitor càtà gratie si elegantà
@Shakeshack78 The beginning is similar to Nastia's floor music from 2008. "Dark Eyes" if I'm not mistaken. The second part is from Gina Gogean circa 1994.
Wow, 10 flips in a sequence
perfect, the best floor exercise of ever, she'd win also with the new Code.
Lovely.
Yes, Aleftina Pryakina USSR did the double-double in 1986, but she never competed at Worlds or Olympics, so it was named after Silivas.
Maravillosa ❤
She was a talent❤
Daniella Silivas, Shannon Miller, Gina Gogean and Svetlana Khorkhina are four of the all- time best
That Romanian team won just about everything then if I remember right!
waouhhhhhhhhhhh !! Incredible
incredibil
Ela voa ❤
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but to me, Onodi could NEVER compare to Silivas. Silivas is in a league all her own.
Back when artistic gymnastics still had the artistry...sighs
I don't mean the men and women nowadays are no less artists but it is all about the difficulty and they have to throw in so much difficulties and all these different elements there is no room for dancing anymore, makes me a bit sad. But I love watching it still!!!
Oh sure, sorry if I sounded overly harsh. I meant to accord with you that she is a fabulous floor worker!
HEY...this music is the SAME as Nastia's current floor music, at the beginning anyway (listen at :25)...the actual orchestra playing it is just different! COOL!
What is this music??? I totally can't remember & it's driving me nuts!!
and deserving.
I would love to see performances like this in more graceful settings. With a nice stage, floor, appropriate dress etc.
I think some of the beauty of the movements are lost in this Olympic setting. But anyway, amazing !
So was Daniela in this performance?...
The first runs of the music here was the music used in Nastia Liukin's '08 Beijing floor exercise.
today's power gymnasts should really take notes from routines like this one...
les gymnastes étaient plus impressionnantes avant qu'elles ne le sont maintenant
There arent enough superlatives to describe this.
hot!!!!!!!
I dont think she was past her peak at Seoul: she was the first woman to ever do a fullinfullout and had it named after her. She did it in floor Event Finals but stumbled slightly on a deep landing.
