You can´t possibly get more "hold my beer" than this man. Imagine some loud mouth macho guy going on about how tough he is, then Adrian shows up and starts talking about how he fought in WW2 with one eye and one complete hand at the age of 60 after being through numerous plane crashes, getting shot just about everywhere and getting crushed under a horse.
Bahahaha TRUTH! Hold me beer!
this man was a borderliner . madman and a lunatic ., and a hero as well complicated indeed
that was great
Are you sure he actually died, or is he in a grave somewhere going this sucks.
The man kept being sent to the same hospital so many times they actually kept a set of pajamas EXCLUSIVELY FOR HIM! Even Death is like, "OH, COME ON! When can I get this guy?!"
Greetings from Russia!!! I'll take care of SABATON and Diana Ankudinova😍!!! React SABATON cover Radio Tapok - Defense of Moscow . Please🙏
Thanks again Jen, for taking the time to find a video that gives a little context to the story (history) behind the song. You did that when you reacted to Sabaton's previous track too. Good work ma'am!! :)
In all honesty, the guy was basically nuts, a straight up fighter born. My favourite part of his legend is that at over 60 years old he and a few other aged (all over 50yrs) officer POW's tunnelled under the POW prison walls and escaped they stayed on the run for around a week "disguised" as Italian peasants despite none of them speaking any fluent Italian, all of them being older men and Adrian Carton de Wiart having one eye and one arm. Truly that perfect mix of totally insane, divinely lucky, incredibly tough and completely driven.
Inspirational story. I know its not on the same level in the rock music world cant help but think of Def Leppard's drummer, Rick Allen. Lost an arm at the height of their fame, had it sewn back on, but didnt take, so amputated again. But, it didnt stop him, he came back as their drummer, and through incredible foot coordination, technology and pure determination he is still drumming today.
I just love ❤️ how you’re still a mom to your little one 👶🏼, while your producing your content, Jen. He’s there with you, climbing into your chair 🪑 for cuddles 🥰, and enjoying your company. That’s so heartwarming.
This is one of the best stories. The one song though I am truly waiting for by Sabaton is Lady of the Dark.
A song about the Serbian heroine Milunka Savic. She is the most decorated female soldier in military history.
Quite an impressive and fearsome warrior.
And it was requested of some fans to do a song about her 👍
He actually ripped 2 of his fingers off because the doctor refused to amputate his hand 36:33
You should react to winged hussars and Carolus Rex
I find it really hilarious that the one actor for Sir Adrian is Indy Neidell haha
Yeah! I think Indy had the most fun in his life😁
whats even funnier is how they shoot the crap out of him in and go "yaaaa" each time in enjoyment, and yet, he still lives each time..... now thats funny
Indy's second appearance as a person from the British commonwealth. This American-Swedish guy is starting to getting typecast as British solders in Sabaton videos.
@@ThomasVanhala yup, first was in 7 Pillars of Wisdom
Just love your reactions. Pls react to Tommy Johansson's solo channel, he has a LOT of awesome things there. What do you think of Swedish Pagans on the melody of Hercules Going the distance. It's both funny and beautiful
Gettysburg would be an amazing battle for them to cover! Hoping for a whole civil war album someday
Battle of Shiloh as well.
That would be great a album about the civil war and i am not from the states 😀
I think they didn't do any songs about Gettysburg or the civil war in general yet, because the band Civil War is a thing and it's formed from former Sabaton members. I'm not sure but I could imagine that this band does songs about the civil war and Sabaton doesn't out of respect to them.
@@Flipomat1 Good point. But they dont only have songs about American history so why shall Sabaton not write songs of American war when civil war is writing songs about world war 2
@@fredriknilsson6042 I don't know much about the songs Civil War does, it was just a lucky guess. Thank you for the info though :)
Well... This man is one of few on the head of the table in Walhalla, or however the place where best soldiers go after death for all of their prideful dids is called. Like... Stories about him seem unreal, yet we have evidence it all happened. He is the epitome of my saving that: Bravery is just controlled madness.
Edit: Also, not three plane crashes... He survived five.
Valhalla, or in its original old norse form: Valhǫll
My first encounter with Sabaton was Christmas Truce; these guys make videos worthy of Oscars, let alone the fact they teach history but also with so much respect to both sides
Look up "HARDCORE:" in the dictionary, and you should find a picture of Sir Adrian beside it.
This video has the right idea but gets many details wrong, he didnt take a plane back to south africa 😂, that was impossible in 1901 😂. He did however go by ship and indeed booked himself in first class and spent all his money during the trip, landing in capetown with only 1£ in his pocket.
The mounted pig hunting was done with spears while riding a horse, not rifles as portrayed in the animation.
The indian servant was mocking the way he walked when recovering from broken ribs. He had it coming.
It wasnt a sniper that shot the back of his head but a machinegun bullet. 🤘❤️🇧🇪🇺🇲
React to "High Water Mark" by Iced Earth. It's about the third day of The Battle of Gettysburg from the Confederate perspective.
If you think this guy was thirsty for war, take a listen to "Soldier of 3 armies" for a guy with a serious beef against russia :) It's from Sabaton's "Heroes" album and is about Finnish soldier Lauri Törni :) Other songs that you should do is "To Hell & Back" & "Hearts Of Iron", both from the Heroes album and also "The Last Battle" from The Last Stand album :)
Saw them on tour for this album! Loved it... I'm a h8story nut too! 👍🤘👍🤘
Thanx Jen. Lots of love from Sweden
39:10 that note is actually based on a real note written by adrian carton de Wiart but its missing a couple of phrases
the full quote is :
''Quite Frankly, i enjoyed the war and why do people want peace if the war is so much fun?''
-adrian Carton de Wiart.
also im noticing the use of the tommy guns in this video that didnt see service until WW2 . and the whole thing with the nurse healing with a syringe/touch.
what im thinking sabaton could be doing is they are making fun of the weapons Inaccuracies in video games because they did the same with ''solider of heaven'' (WW2 spitfire/messerschmitt air combat in a WW1 related video) & the same with the nurse, in video games the player uses healing items to replenish health, or when they die they respawn at a checkpoint.
could just be me overanalysing it but i think thats the whole picture .
In the "soldiers of heaven" video i think the WW2 planes are meant to illustrate that the soldiers who died up there in the alps still lied there when WW2 was going on. Cause you see WW1 planes first, then the WW2 ones.
Sorry, meant "lay" not "lied".
I like your little gremlin. I'll bet he grow up a metal fan ;)
Couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. Cool song and video and lovely reaction Jen ❤️
Great reaction different band love there music an unique style an sound from the Swedish band hope you do a reaction for Breath Atlantis new single it’s a banger an would love a reaction on citizen soldier irreplaceable great band an song too it’s a life song for someone in there low place in life an could be a help for people on your channel here an others dear love Cody ❤️🤗😉😁
great video. your son is so cute :)
He did pull the fingers off
I mean I'm a finn, I got no problem to tell that I hate communism in the face of any russian. :)
Adrian is Indy Neidel from Sabaton History channel
Glad he got a part
so he was basically a lego?
I am entertained :D
He's probably one of the very few people that lied about their age to join a war twice - once for being too young and once for being too old.
My grandad lied about his age to join ww2 he was 15 ✌️ 🇬🇧
My understanding is that he did pull his fingers off, but the hand was fully amputated after another incident.
Not quite. When the surgeons and doctors stated that they couldn't amputate it, he pulled his 2 fingers off (by the teeth in most accounts) and spat them out. The doctors later decided to amputate it as they couldn't save it anyways.
😃🙂
About Gettysburg, exist a band called Civil War, who are conformed for the old members from Sabaton, they do a lot of music about USA and his Civil War, the only problem is, just two or three songs have a videoclip
When it comes to Gettysburg, so far, Iced Earth are the masters of that topic in music. Their trilogy made of "The Devil to Pay", "Hold at All Costs" and "High Water Mark" which describe each of the three days of the battle, is a masterpiece. Here is link to the clip with the whole trilogy for you to watch ua-cam.com/video/Z2rNVmVjYHg/v-deo.html that clip use parts of "Gettysburg" TV movie from 1993, and that makes it even better, since that movie is great on it's own.
Don’t be afraid to die, be happy to do the things you want with your life before you die. No matter how much those things cost you, you will be happier that you have done what you wanted.
It’s not fear of losing life, it’s fear of not having one.
Edit: I have 3 names, 16 letters.

Loved the vid, and you got a cute kid. I'd suggest watching Sabaton's song Counterstrike, as well as the Sabaton History vid on it. Great song great history.
And I agree, Sabaton should do some stuff about the American War of Independence and the American Civil War.
Lieutenant-General Sir Adrian Paul Ghislain Carton de Wiart, VC, KBE, CB, CMG, DSO was a British Army officer born of Belgian and Irish parents. fought in 4 wars incl 2 ww. lived till he was 83 years old wounded in all his body parts lost his left eye, his arm as well shopt in th head, face and hip he wrote after the 1st ww -" frankly I enjoyed the war" enjoyed your reaction greeting from Sabatonland = Sweden
Allright fellas.. who else wanna see Jen as nurse in a Sabaton-Gettysburg video?
i saw a interveiw with yorkaim broden where he said they dont cover the american civil war because the band "iced earth" covered the civil war they have a song for every day of the battle of gettysburg "devil to pay" 1st day "hold at all costs" 2and day "high water mark" 3rd day they have song about other civil war battles to like "foreward clear the way" covers the irish brigrade at the battle of fredricksburg check them out good music
The young lad's t-shirt is brilliant😂. One of my nephews should have had that when he was a child😂
In regards to tearing off the two remaining fingers on his left hand…I think Adrian may have ripped them off WITH HIS TEETH. I could be wrong but still, this guy’s the prime example of “thank God he’s on our side”!
You should check out Chaoseum - Smile Again.
Here is another Di Wart story for you. While he was rercuperating from his hand wound a friend of his ashed if he would do the friend a favor. He said yes as long as it was not financial transaction. The friend asked him to be his second in a duel (remember this is 1915 not 1815) so of course Di Wart said yes. So he went to the offending officer and told him that he was being challenged to a duel. the other officer tried to rationalize stating that they would get into trouble. Di Wart responded that the authorities would be to busy with the war. Besides DiWart said trhey would go to an isolated area with a can of gas and the winner would dispose of the losers remains. The officer thern wrote an Affadavit that he would not see the lady in question again. DiWartr said that if he did not like the lady enough to fight for her he needed a thrashing. From the Book Military Anecdotes pages 344-345

Great reaction. (And your kid is adorable. )
this was a fun reaction to watch and I think this song and music video is really really great =D
Chris is absolutely great with his work, i love his work and watch him all the time
love learning new history
He was absolutely mad 😂
I want you reaction to BTS Spring day. I love you reaction.
I would absolutely love a album of the American Civil War, however I don't think many people in the US will like it 😕
If you enjoy history and teaching kids history I think you'd love Yarnhub
Great reaction
