The campus life at OUTR is very good and it has the advantage as it is in Bhubaneswar the capital city of Odisha. In Bhubaneswar you can do anything you want. You can prepare for higher studies and also here the placement scenario is very good for all Btech courses
I am a Student of OUTR Bhubaneswar Actually there are three fests organised by our university. Cultural fest- Xtasy Technical fest - Perception Sports and athletic meet- Engineers Cup
All the BTech courses in CET/OUTR Bhubaneswar. 1. CSE Aiml 2. CSE 3. IT 4. ECE 5. E&I 6. Computer Engineering 7. Mechanical 8. Electrical 9. Metallurgy and materials engineering 10. Robotics and AI 11. Civil 12. Biotechnology 13. Textile Other UG courses are B.Arch and B. Plan Newly Introduced MBA course. Other PG courses are Mtech, MSc, MCA PhD for all engineering stream is also available here
I am shocked because what I've heard and experienced at this college is very different. 1. Placements: Don't be misled by the placement statistics. They include both on-campus and off-campus placements. All the 20 LPA+ packages are from off-campus placements, which are not influenced by the college. Therefore, it's misleading to attribute these figures solely to the college's placement efforts. 2. Increased Strictness: Since the college transitioned from CET to OUTR, there has been an increase in strictness in various unnecessary areas. For instance, marks are now tied to attendance, and believe me, attendance will be your greatest obstacle to learning. You won’t have much free time to explore and learn outside of the classroom. 3. Wi-Fi and Power Issues: The Wi-Fi is mediocre at best, not as great as described in this video. Frequent power cuts make the Wi-Fi unreliable, as it often disconnects unexpectedly. 4. Student Body: The student body is selected, not elected. While this may not seem like a big deal initially, it significantly impacts the campus environment. The student body lacks power, and as a result, events like fests are often lacks a lot or even canceled. Some Tips: 1. For Students from Odisha: I may sound overly critical, but if you don't have any options for NIT or IIT and you are from Odisha, then this college is the best choice for your Bachelor's degree. 2. Course Selection: Avoid opting for E&I, ECE, or Mechanical Engineering at this college. Your experience could be worse than your school life. 3. Consider Your Options: If you have the opportunity to attend NIT Rourkela, don't think twice. Only consider OUTR if financial constraints are a major issue. If possible, take an extra loan to attend NIT-it may be a life-changing decision.
