Oooh, I love this question! Wish more ppl would ask this, and hope a lot of ppl see this answer (and it helps them too)! Off the top of my head: 1. You need to first really know your own topic well. So it's not just "I only know that this worked for me." But why did it work, what to do when it doesn't work exactly the same for others, what it takes to be able to get it to work, etc. 2. You need to understand how your students/clients learn your topic. Because they will likely think differently than you do - and thus have different questions, doubts, obstacles, and ways of learning and understanding than you. So you need to learn what to get ahead of in terms of you communication and be thorough in addressing. 3. ^Building on the above - that informs how you teach, the order, the structure, the guidance you give. 4. Most likely includes also knowing how to give some form of feedback/guidance/coaching, as well. 5. And communication. How do you communicate what people need to know, all the above points, in the most concise way, while also making sure it lands?
This advice is spot on, I had to learn some of these things the hard way lol
Honestly, that's how I learned too! All part of the process. I'm just hoping to make it a bit easier for you!
Thankyou for your video. Can you share about what "work" is there in teaching? Like is it building curriculum, outreach etc? ❤
