RTA Afghanistan is the state-owned television channel in Afghanistan, launched in 1977. It is the country’s first and one of the news channels.
Afghanistan National Television became available in Europe, Middle East, North Africa Africa Asia Pacific, and North America on 5 January 2008. The channel's broadcasting hours were 06:00 to 00:00 (local Afghan time), corresponding to 01:30 to 19:30 UTC. Later in 2008, RTA became a 24-hour channel, and this allowed viewers internationally to watch it at more convenient hours.

This is the time, Afghan government should makes efforts to bring back 100s of thousands of Afghans, many of them are skilled. These are all Afghan living abroad as refugees and being detained, tortured and blackmailed. These Afghan should be brought with dignity with all the support, so the country can function as country not as colony. A clear message should be given to the world and neighbours, the rights of Afghan citizens are protected and cared for. The Afghan government should act like state, stop all the mistreatments, blackmailing, detention and torture of citizens.
Afghanistan should take clear stand for human rights of its people in Afghanistan and abroad. Afghanistan should establish and normalise its relationship with international community for future developments. Afghanistan should become clear voice for its people, who are subjected to forced repatriation, arrests, detention and torture in neighbouring countries. Afghan refugees are subjected these offences and don’t have any protection and representation. These offensives are against the international laws of human rights. The Afghan government should take these diplomatic actions to end suffering of its people. If these steps are not taken, Afghanistan is not going have any status of state either. We should take strong diplomatic stand for Afghan refugees who are subjected, to forced repatriation, torture, detention, torture and property confiscations. These atrocities are against the international laws, conventions and treaties. These refugees don’t have and protection systems or representation. International community and organisations are also silent on the subject is beyond understanding. It is time for Afghan government take a stand against these human rights violations.
