You could easily see him developing the Urkel act in this skit if you think about it. Or maybe he just wasn't very good at masking that ducky impediment in his voice.
True story: Rudy Huxtable was originally written as a boy and White auditioned for the role and was probably close to getting it. This coming from an interview with Carl Payne, who played "Cockroach" on the show.
The hosts of the OTGO PSAs are the stars of the NBC shows of the day. And there is not always just one star from any one show. Tempestt Bledsoe from "The Cosby Show" hosted one, and Malcolm Jamal-Warner (Theo from that show) hosted another, for example.
This reminds me of the "Dennis the Menace" comic strip segment I've looked at and read. It's called the job hunters. Dennis tells his friend Joey that he planned on finding a job. The employer asked Dennis a question: Do you have any experience. Dennis didn't want to go through the details of having experience in job training. He tells the employer that him and his friend Joey can't even read or write. The employer apologizes to these boys, telling them that: I'm afraid you'll have to learn that in school. He has Dennis and Joey both leave his employment office. Joey later on: mentions getting a show and tell job. What caused these 2 boys to think about earning money is when they found a great new toy called meteor man: in the stores display window. 🪟
0:36, ask Carl Winslow 😂😂😂
Tsk tsk! Look what you did!
I'm surprised lemonade stands weren't mentioned.

Jaleel before he became Urkel!
This episode of OTGO has Jaleel White...better known to most TV fans as Steve Urkel from FAMILY MATTERS! Oh! And,let's not forget Tempestt Bledsoe!
I wonder if a Family Matters producer saw this and gave Steve that line: "Did I do that?"

And the funny thing is Jaleel auditioned for The Cosby Show when Rudy was a boy but Bill Cosby changed it to a girl to mirror his real life family.
