LEGO Titanic: Stop Motion film
- This LEGO stop motion movie directed by Henry Hagens, depicts the sinking of the R.M.S Titanic in 1912. It uses both the larger scale LEGO set Titanic model, as well as scenes on the scale of minifigures. Since its release, the film has won awards at three festivals and received numerous nominations. It follows the true events, only taking small creative liberties on the scale of those in the movie "Titanic", due to issues with the medium. As this film exists in the context of lego people, it is by nature not as serious as other representations of the disaster, but it does not seek to make light of the tragic story.
I would like to thank my design teachers, as well as Matt Watts, for giving me much of the technical knowledge required to conduct various aspects of production.
Credit goes largely to Envato Elements, Larysa Campbell, and Simon Hagens, for the various vocal effects in this film. Promotional assets were created by Mae Lai.
Other types of effects have been sourced from Envato Elements and the UA-cam audio library.

Wow. The attention to detail is awesome. Love that you included the baker drinking throughout the time it took for the ship to sink. This was still very emotional, knowing those were real people who went down with the ship. ❤🙏🏻😓
12:20 The chief baker Charles Joughin, despite of swimming in the cold water for at least two hours, really survived and got on board the rescuing Carpathia, because he had drunk so much alcohol that he did not feel the cold, as he told later. Amazing story. He was the only person to survive despite not having a place in or on a lifeboat. He is also portrayed in James Cameron's movie, namely the guy at the stern railing next to Jack and Rose when the ship finally sinks, still drinking from a pocket bottle.
Ya! His story is my favourite out of Titanic's survivors, so I wanted to give him a special place in the video. I'm happy that someone noticed.
@@legoman844 I just recently read his story, since I have been strongly interested in Titanic since the last year, inspired by the "Titanic: Honor and Glory" videos on UA-cam. When watching James Cameron's movie, I had always wondered what happened to this guy at the stern railing with his pocket bottle. He looked so human and sympathetic and I am glad that he survived. Unfortunately, this does not become clear in the movie. I also read that he had saved children before the sinking by putting them into lifeboats resolutely, even when they didn't want to.
Joughin was truly one of the most enigmatic people that ever walked this earth. He drank so much that he cheated death at the last moment, even if his memories were the only casualty.
(Joughin was known to change his story depending on who he told it to-a popular UA-cam series visualizing Titanic survivor testimony, “Titanic: What They Saw,” showed two testimonies from Joughin, and noted in the comments that he changed his story several times!)
I’m so glad you included him.
he also refuted the "suction from the ship sinking" bit in the movie. in reality there was no suction when the ship finally went under, he was able to quite literally ride the ship down and step off without issue just before the last of it went under.
The Best Titanic Lego animation in my opinion.
This is probably my favorite video of a Lego titanic yet
I used to watch the old Lego titanic stop motions as a teen, and seeing this now, with an actual titanic set as the model and updated lego sets as film dressing and setting, it's just brilliant 10/10
I'm glad
@@legoman844 yea but the only thing you kinda got wrong is the ship having a very big angle up so much before the breakup
I wasn't expecting to be emotionally moved by a Lego version of the Titanic disaster, but I was. Amazing work.
Thanks

I like the last guy miraculously survived. A little happy ending in the huge tragedy.
When the guy who worked as a coal shoveler couldn't open the door to the outside and died, I actually felt really sad. This is such a good animation, its just superb.
Thanks
Life changing vid.10/10
Thank you
Was this based on the 1997 movie?

Truly brilliant- every element- beautiful camera angles- provocative lighting- captivating pacing and editing- powerfully emotional story telling! Well done!

Il veut dire : Save our soul.
Unbelievable, so much attention to detail. The collision with the iceberg is particularly intense. Well done!
That scene was my favourite to make.

Best lego titanic indeed. Rest in peace all souls lost that tragic night..
Brilliant. I never knew Lego stop motion could have such amazing production value, or take something like this seriously. Wow. This was amazing.
Thanks
how it went from tiny to big is so creative well done
legoman844, beautiful rendition of that fateful night, it only took a matter of time before it was done in Lego
Fun fact: this version is actually the one that James Cameron and Paramount spent a billion dollars on. James thought legos with their pencil drawn expressions would better exemplify the terror of those on board. Unfortunately at the last moment studio execs swapped Kate Winslet in for Lego girl#1 and we wound up with the other version. Ug.

I am Japanese. It's really amazing to reproduce all the sad and moving dramas that happened in the Titanic. If possible, I also wanted Masafumi Hosono, a Japanese, to come out...
Thanks. I had no Idea about Masafumi Hosono. His story sounds really interesting, and I would have included it if I'd known about him.
@@legoman844His diary at that time clearly shows the events that were happening on the Titanic, and he is a very wonderful person!

The attentio to detail is amazing. Not just that, but I went from awed to horrified. All the lives lost, the souls trying to escape, the ship sinking...

Wow, this is one of the timeline and shows all the POV is of people like the workers who are stuck down there to the people trying to escape to the people getting locked. Yeah it’s really good it also made me cry bit inside
Damn, this is the best lego movie I've ever seen. I just burst into weep. I would watch such an adaptation. It's even more tragic than Cameron's movie.

I watch this every single day because I love titanic and a LEGO
This is the most amazing stop motion, animation, film I have ever seen in my entire life. I love how you be created historical characters for example, Charles Lightoller. and chief Baker jugglin otter, titanic, stop motion, animation, films, even mock people who died on board and don’t include any historical characters. This is way better than all of them. I love how you included the chief Baker, drinking wine like he was in real life and him being the last want to jump off the ship also like in real life.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it

Finally , a vid that shows the stern high out of the water when it breaks, as it did.
I love how the chef is in every scene 💀🤣🤣🤣
A masterpiece. The attention to detail and portrayal of the sun stories truly brilliant
bro the interior sets for the Titanic were absolutley amazing
I still cry when I see the movie. In memory of those 1500 people who died and sacrificed themself(Captain smith)
Near my god to thee.
10:58 the softest panic ever and i love it
There’s no other word to picture this than amazing
This is incredible. Firstly the time you must have put into building all the sets to such detail is amazing! Then all the different scenes work so well, the model of the ship and the lego figure sized scenes fit together so well. The research you have put into this is incredible too. The cinematography is also truly amazing and really makes the animation much much better. The animation as well is smooth and suits the animation. This is an amazing piece of work!
Thanks. Putting this together was quite an endeavor, so I'm glad that it is enjoyed.

Despite the many inaccurate during the sinking like the extreme angle, lights going out after the 1st funnel collapsed and 3rd class being locked down. This is one of the best lego titanic animations on UA-cam!
There's even more. Look at my comment.
Now THIS is what UA-cam should be about- extraordinary talent. This was so good!!

The kitchen scene was great.
Great use of lighting, meaning it's just as dark as when it really sank. Non of the fake Hollywoodness.
I really love how historically accurate this is. Very nice job!
Huh?
This is the first Lego titanic movie I’ve ever seen to sink smoothly, and split in two! Good job!

Wow. I don't do toys. Not a Lego fan. I don't watch animated films. But I watched this and OMG. It was awesome. I love the rivets popping out, the pieces of iceberg landing on the deck and the pounding sound of the engine. So well done. Bravo.
7:48 I'm glad you included chef Baker Charles Joughin in this.
Ya, his is one of my favourite stories
This was absolutely incredible and despite there being one or two inaccuracies, this is amazing! I would love to see behind the scenes and all of the interior sets.
Great job my friend, I love everything TITANIC and since recently I've fallen in love with Lego and this blew my mind, great job adding the characters at the end, thanks for making this.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it
The stop motion was amazing your great at this stuff because when the people fell into and go out of the water they fell and climbed out so good
Nicely done! Stop motion, in Lego, has got to be "the" most difficult medium in which to work. Thank you for this moving animation.
Thanks, I appreciate that.
The way the water was done was really impressive! Just a great production overall!
Thank you!
Good video, although not accurate to what really happened. Most of the events during the sinking seems to be taken from the 1997 film. Reversing the engines, Smith going down in the wheel house, Thomas Andrews in the smoke room etc. If you want to an idea of what really happened, you can check out Part Time Explorer’s real time sinking video, or check out the book Titanic On A Sea Of Glass. Hopefully that will help you in understanding the events of the sinking. I just think it’s important to keep things up to date.
The rest was really good, the animations, the models, and the emotions all spot on. I also love how you used the actual lego model for the video. Really the events are the only thing I see out of place but that’s ok, not everyone knows the story.
Thanks. Most of the things I changed were to reflect the iconography of the film Titanic, such as Smith's death and the speed of sinking, although the engines were definately reversed. Many of the books and other sources I've seen mention its importance in not being able to turn fast enough.
There were also some things wrong with the set like doors that didn’t exist on weld deck and the bridge lights being on but over all it was a good brick film
It isn“t about the accuraty its more about the insane worn
