Dennis Marsh - Pokarekare Ana (Live from his home in New Zealand)
During our time in New Zealand last year we had the privilege to visit the home of New Zealand country music legend Dennis Marsh to talk about his life's musical journey, releasing 30 albums in 30 years, including two which reached No. 1 on the New Zealand albums chart, four gold albums and six platinum albums. He also gave us this beautiful rendition of the traditional Māori folk love song "Pokarekare Ana"

I live in Australia, and remember this song as a child growing up in Waihopai Murihiku, I also remember a house master back in Hokio Levin that sing this song as he was part of the 28th Māori Battalion during WW2 and told stories of the Māori battalion, that the soldiers would sing Pokarekare ana going into battle.

I like this song. I used to sing it when I was in Bali.
But there's an interesting information that people of Belu (a district next to Timor Leste) & people of Sabu island also have their own folk song which is the same as Pokarekare Ana song.
