I feel sad for Charles, imagine you need to put on a smile to greet everyone when you had just lost your beloved mother. My prayers for the Queen and for the new King.

I think King Charles is glad that his mom doesn't have to suffer anymore the woman worked all the way up into the day she died.... Right after his mother's death he knew his people needed him to be strong. He stopped deliberately to give people the strength his mother would have given at that time.

The Royal Family learned their lessons from Diana's death.
Look at the way he pats people on the shoulder and greeted the Indian man who was there to show his grief by folding his hands and even allowing people to kiss him. He’s going to be a brilliant king. I was moved by him and I will be praying for him. He is very elegant and I loved his address to the nation and world. I’m glad the majority of the English people are supporting him.
He's consoling his people at a time of great distress, God bless him, and God rest his mother, she will be missed.
I agree, he could have just got out of the car and walked back into Buckingham Palace without caring, but instead he shook the hands of everyone in the crowd, shows he's the peoples King.

It’s pretty much traditional that people wear black whilst mourning someone. Not mandatory but kinda respectful. If someone doesn’t want to wear it then don’t wear it.
Very class from Charles, he took time to greet his subjects and even accept some flowers.
There is something so regal and in-control about British people…No hysteria, no existential anger, disruptions to the transfer - just a dignified country showing solidarity with their new king.
Which becomes an awful thing when we have crises happen here and we just buckle down and moan about it without have the fire or passion to enact change

When I think of Elizabeth II I'm left thinking of a quote by Elizabeth I. 'Though you may have many mightier and wiser princes sitting in this seat, yet you never had nor shall have any that will love you better.' I'm certain Elizabeth II herself fits these words perfectly.

People need to remember that Charles isn’t just a king…he is also a son who has just lost his mother and is grieving. Yes, he’s royalty, yes, he’s a public figure, and yes, the queen lived a long and full life…but losing a parent is still rough, no matter who you are, regardless of the circumstances.

Therefore, good hand hygiene should be practiced. It has nothing to do with status or him being better than anyone, but rather reducing and preventing the spread of viruses and bacteria. If it were you in the King's place out there I might advise you to do the same. Is there something wrong with wishing good health upon a person?

Queen Elizabeth II was from my perspective always the Queen - she ascended the throne many, many years before i was even born (I'm only 39) and it seemed to me unimaginable that someone else would be the Sovereign of the United Kingdom. IT's lovely and heartwarming to see, that so many people cared and came to offer their condolences to the new monarch. I wish some people there would also show decency and NOT had to film that they are actually shaking hands with the new King. For God sake, he lost bis mother. You can offer your condolences without beeing in his face with your cellphones.
But what if His Majesty thought it was sweet that they were either so excited or proud to take that video/photo of them shaking his hand? It might have made him feel better. Many truly were doing this out of love for him, whether they were his subjects or not.
