Faculty Lecture Series - Chayan Lahiri, Geosciences

This lecture will introduce the audience to alluvial fans, fan-shaped land forms created when streams deposit sediment at the base of mountain ranges, canyon walls or hills, where stream gradients undergo a sudden change. The presentation will also focus on the importance of these land forms and how variations in the landscape and climate influence their formation.
