When this movie came out, it was this line when my then eight year old little brother leaned over and with all sincerely whispered "Santa Claus"
that is so funny, i'm going to think about this comment for the rest of my life
Very cute, I will admit! But, Father Christmas was a servant to Aslan. He pointed the children to Aslan. Aslan is made into a type of Jesus here ❤
😂
@@starspark9471 Fun fact: it actually is Jesus.
Replace every instance of "Jesus" in the Bible with Santa Claus. Santa Claus died on the Sleigh for your sins.
How can an actor's voice be so gentle and yet so menacingly tough at the same time.
Liam Neeson at his best
That is kind of the point of Aslan.
Aslan is a lion for a reason. Around the children, he is soft and caring. To his enemies, he is what they fear. He can be BOTH.
In fact, there's a bit in The Horse and His Boy, where Aslan rakes Aravis' back with his claws. He is not her enemy. But he did so to teach her a lesson, to have her feel the pain of the lashes inflicted on the maid that she drugged.
He is caring, and nurturing, and a protector and fierce defender, while also dispensing justice and sometimes harsh lessons. I think Liam Neeson was honestly a stellar choice for his voice, as his voice manages to capture all of these aspects perfectly
Let’s just say he has a particular set of skills
Bc that's how God is!
Aslan is proof you can make a real looking lion with the emotions that humans can portray through eyes and softness of face. Lion King had this for an example and they did not take that example to heart.
Literally all I could think when watching this! How narnia did it soo much better with way worse graphical technology

Lucy being closest to Aslan and being the one to hug him and see him before the others was always my favorite part of her character, she’s just so wonderful
Lucy was inspired by c.s. Lewis's own granddaughter, he wrote the silver chair as a bedtime story for her, and than the rest of the chronicles of Narnia so she could read them to her own grandchildren one day.
Because C S Lewis wrote a Christian roman. Aslan is Jesus and Jesus blessed the children and says that they bleong to heaven and you should believe like a child. And Lucy is the youngest child. (Sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language.)

I am Simba. Son of Mufasa. And I am the King of Pride Rock.
Aslan is a manifestation of God. That's why he gently tells her that he has a different name and they will meet one day again.
Yes Jesus. In revelations, he comes back like a roaring Lion to slay the beast.
Such a lovely reference ❤
Aslan is Jesus. So you are both right and wrong at the same time.
Yes that’s the implication of the subtext I got as well.
While I myself am not a Christian I must admit I do admire the sentiment of the scene and the spirituality of it. xx
Indeed. More specifically Jesus, God the Son. And Aslan's father, The Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea, is God the Father.
I always loved that here in this scene.
That lion has more facial expressions in this one clip than Bella did in all 5 of the twilight movies.

Sounds way better than Stephen King's cosmic fiction in which the universe was puked by a primigenial turtle 😅.
YESSS I'm rereading the series in chronological order rn and The Magician's Nephew is SPECTACULAR
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The last one wasn't so good, they took too many liberties with the character arcs like with Lucy and kept bringing back Jadis as Edmund's sole nemesis even though their arc was well and truly concluded.
@@fildyb IMHO ironically i think this is the most underrated movie of the trilogy, it brings back the sensation of adventure of the 1st one, and it has a great ending for their characters, plus nicely introduce a new one.

Yeah but they adapted the most kiddy of the books, & made them more palatable for teens & adults. (I.e. without making them sinful.) So as far as that endeavor, the work is complete.
My mom was very religious, I explained this to her and she was silent for that day. She couldn’t wrap her head around it for a while.

My dads a huge nerd and a Lutheran Paster. When I was little he told me a long time ago two men wanted to explain religion to children in a way that was easier to understand so they wrote Narnia and LotR. The fact that Narnia tells about the gospel and the Bible in a way is just amazing
That is why CS Lewis is one of the best
And in different ways. There isn't a clear cut of who is who outside of Aslan. Is the Ice Queen meant to be Judeus? Or the Jews?
Well yes and no. Yes Jadius does a lot of what the Jews do but she isn't really meant to repseant the entire race of Jews. She is more like the rulers of that time period and the "devil" himself as in the Bible, Hell is depicted as a very cold and frozen place without the light of God there to warm it up.
The siblings and any humans that do enter Narnia are meant to be humanity as a whole right? That's why Aslan sacrificed himself for Edmund right? Because Edmund's betrayal is meant to be humanity's sins right?
Kinda, it is more in line with the lost of innocence at the hands of people you thought you can trust. Yes it is about sins too but some may also turn to religion to figure out their next plan of action too.
The various races we see can mean a whole lot too. Could be representing angels, demons, the different ethnicities of humanity, and just general war. I do not think there are any major wars in the Bible.
Hell, the Deep Magic could be the Holy Spirit but even that doesn't make sense because the Holy Spirit is never stated to be written like the Deep Magic is.

Greetings from a fellow Tolkien Philosopher, who also has eaten the fruits of Narnia and tasted its mysteries. 2021 was the start of a horrible time for me. And the end of 2022 was the final nail in the coffin for it. However around those times, I started off by going to Tolkien’s books and the radio dramas that followed. And I learned the history of Middle Earth itself as well as its God (Eru) through The Silmarillion. Then I was drawn to his friend’s work, C.S. Lewis. And then I reached full enlightenment. The more I read these books and listen to the radio dramas from both worlds, the more closer i get back to God himself. Tolkien set me on my path, and Lewis paved the way. For many reasons. As a religious person I would say Lucy's relationship with Aslan echoes the yearning of our hearts for God and relationship with Him. But also because Aslan represents a parental figure to her that she never had, one who gave His life to protect her. Being separated from such a being resonates and is naturally very emotional.

@@farid1406 gracious elaboration, I do hope my connection with God isn’t all lost..
@@yuko6794 You can't ever lose your connection with Him, so I don't think it is.
After reading The Last Battle, this scene hits a lot harder now. "Further up, and further in!"
that's what she said?
CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien were Christians, they both put religion in their books. In Narnia we have Aslan as God and in Tolkien books we have Eru Illuvatar as God, Valars as archangels and Maiars as angels, even one of Valars turned evil - Melkor who is later referenced as Morgoth when he turned to be first great evil in Arda (Earth)
Say what you want about these movies but Aslan was always one of my favorite parts you can tell who he's supposed to be representing just by the way he talks these 3 movies have more effort put into them then most of the live action stuff Disney does now Aslan is someone who you wanna follow immediately just by his voice alone ❤❤
The “CGI“ looks so good..BECAUSE ITS REAL!!! duhhh
You mean there's FAKE CGI?
I'm pretty sure they didn't use a real lion
If they used this concept in live Lion King, would have been amazing...
we need to bring back authentic movies like this, and stop blindly going for and paying for movies and shows like euphoria and MCU movies
that is Jesus...the Lion and the Lamb..❤❤
Ah nostalgia. Haven’t seen all the movies, but the books hold a solid place in my heart.
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isaiah 41:10❤
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23❤
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16❤
For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Fear not, I will help you. Isaiah 41:13❤
Yo fr, CS Lewis knew what we needed bro.
I LOOOOOVED THIS MOVIE SERIES and all the spiritual meanings within it🙏🏽
Narina was always my favourite movie ❤❤😊😊🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yeshua ❤
"Jesus Christ! A Talking Lion!"
"You are correct in multiple ways."
This looks 100 times better than lion king.
As a Christian I love these movies and books but I’m also glad non religious people can still also love them as well and still learn good themes
Very true. Its beautifully and symbolic things like this movie that can bring people to christ .

@@24x7-c2h wether you like it or not the first movie was the story of Jesus and CS Lewis was a Christian
Beautiful parallels. Thank you, Lewis☺
What a handsome lion
“In your world, I have another name! You must learn to know me by it!”
Yes, indeed! Aslan is Jesus in a different form! I love Jesus! ❤❤❤
Amen indeed!
