@@smann7236 Wow, this being a 10 years old comment I posted. If I recall, it was pretty easy going, the director was on the audition, so, he asked me to do my best upright bass playing with few improvs. For finding out about this audition and other school projects - you can go to Actors Access page.
@@bklyncrook thanks for reply. Yeah it's crazy 10 years I still remember his oscar speech . Always been curious how low budget student films have good acting and looking professional. Cool hope you doing well, bro!
@@smann7236 - Since I've been on many students projects from different levels at different schools. The once like "God of Love" were at the thesis level. Therefore, the award winning/nominating student films are majority at both undergrad and grad level thesis (senior project per se) films. Basically, everything they learn from all the years of film making from their other courses into this final project to graduate. Also, they tend to have a higher budget to afford things needed according to what they are shooting for. Since, all the students on the projects are all hopefuls for their professional endeavors, the final projects are a test to all film makers, producers and such. Hope that helps explain a bit.
This is my second favorite Oscar speech (after Tom Hanks' for Philadelphia). I totally remember watching this speech that night and laughing my ass off. Cool guy.
Some people say tech awards, documentaries and short film awards at the Oscars are boring and no one cares about them and they should be in a separate ceremony. Then we would miss moments like these because more often than not the winners of these categories give the best, most awesome speeches!
He gave the Oscar to his mother (who lives in north Florida) to hold on to. She kept it on a small table just under her TV. A friend of mine was her neighbor and she took me over there so I could see and hold the Oscar. It's true what they say, they ARE heavy. You could kill somebody with one with one swift blow to the head.
what's so awesome about his speech? he did what you shouldn't do to bore people, name a bunch of names. Although the comment about his har and his mom were hilarious
Man, I auditioned for this short film - didn't land it. There will be another chance to be part of an Academy winning film. Wish me luck folks!
How was the audition experience? And how did you find out about it?
