    🚍 Skoolie Subfloor Overhaul: Unveiling the Hidden Truths Beneath Your Feet! 🛠️
    Join us in our latest school bus conversion video where we expose the hidden dangers lurking under old subfloors. Discover why removing the existing subfloor isn't just a cosmetic upgrade, but a critical step in building a healthy and sustainable skoolie home. 🏡
    🧐 WHY REMOVE THE SUBFLOOR?
    Mold Menace: Old subfloors can harbor mold, a silent foe that poses health risks and degrades air quality.
    Rot and Decay: Time and moisture can cause wood to rot, compromising the structural integrity of your bus.
    Odor Elimination: Previous lives and uses of the bus leave odors and moisture trapped in the subfloor, which can permeate your new home.
    Fresh Start: A new subfloor means a clean slate, ensuring your skoolie build is safe, sound, and smell-free.
    🔥 CUTTING-EDGE REMOVAL:
    Say goodbye to back-breaking removal methods. We're bringing in the heavy artillery with a plasma cutter, showing you the most efficient way to tackle those pesky floor rails and prepare for a pristine installation.

    The handicap floor rails were the worst, hated that process so much in our bus. Jealous of that work shop though! Keep crushing it!

      Hey guys! No doubt. We literally tried everything everyone else said would work. The only way we'll ever do a handicap buss again is with the plasma cutter. Our first bus didn't have rails so we had no idea what we were in for 😂
      We're so spoiled in this shop. Thanks so much

    I just did this on the bus we just bought. Thankfully there were no rails, most of the seat bolts came right out but the vinyl floor covering didn't want to come up so the plywood seams could not be exposed. Circular saw was used to make smaller sections. It took about a day and a half all by myself. It's a New Mexico bus so minimal rust. Glad that part of the demo is over! Happy building guys!!

      Our first bus was like that. Bolts came out so easy. This one was a nightmare, but I'm glad we did it. These floors were absolutely disgusting.
      Glad it's over as well. Good luck with your build as well!

      Truly not sure! We’re still working on layouts and a few of them would require us to remove it. It takes up a little over a foot of our width on the inside of the bus.

      I was going to ask the same thing. It would be cool to see you guys donate to someone in need if salvageable after removing. Just a thought.

      @mariajoseandchase  8 місяців тому +2

      That's a great idea. If we remove it, our first move will be sending out feelers for someone who might need it.

    Grandpa to the rescue, but apparently he isn't as afraid of mold as a grandpa as the new parents are?? It's been too many years since riding the cheese wagon, but I don't think anybody was peeing on the floor back in the day. Makes bus demo more interesting, that's for sure. It probably happened because they didn't have Chase to teach them how to cursive pee in the snow. For a bus build series, there sure is a strong pee stream running through it. Just sayin'. Good progress guys!! Hope all is still going well!!
