Super! I was thinking for a BD4 for the Test Track but the lack of information has put it off for now but its back to give it a go! I am looking forward to the next updates! Cheers :)
Just know that I have found you can’t get programming track to work through the BD4. I believe this is to do with the lower current or voltage that the programming track provides and is not enough to get the BD4 to work. If you want to simply play with occupancy and signals for instance on your test track then it would work just fine.
I know this is a lost cause but I was really looking forward to you doing a video on the BXP88. As I said before, such a shame, since on youtube there is not one video on the BXP88 at all.
Chadwick TMD Charlie, the physical connection to the DS64 is relatively straight forward using the cable I created however it is hampered by the instructions that don’t show the pin 10 being used any more. The rest of getting it to work is more to do with the OpSw settings in the DS64.
Jim Shellhaas Thanks Jim. Yes, these are the same 10 pin IDC connectors and ribbon cables that can be used on the SE8C and also are used on the RX4 transponders which attach to a BDL168. Jim because I am in Australia it isn’t clear who does or doesn’t ship to the USA. I suggest you search on 10 pin rainbow ribbon cable and 10 pin IDC connectors and this should reveal suppliers of the same. Failing all of that you can purchase of course the Digitrax SDCK which stands for Signal driver cable kit. Although, this is the more expensive option I have found. Good luck and please post if you find a seller that ships to the USA.
Digitrax Dad Paul that’s exactly what I did. I found some 10 pin ribbon cable but I’m still looking for connectors. Thanks for all your help and keep at the videos
Thank you for your perfectly explanation!!! Do you have a next video about how to connect BD4 to DS64 with ribbon 10 pin cable and config occupancy detector in JMRI? If not maybe you can send link to instructions ? Thank you very mach!
Good basic connections explained . I am interested to know the connections to both DS64 as well as SE8c separately explained. When the DS 64 is already connected to 4 turnouts atlas twin coil type, can this BD4 's detection outputs ALSO be connected to the same DS64 and if so how the board number/section numbers will be added in the train controller interface.
GANESAN SETHURAMAN yes it will work with turnout motors already connected slow motion or solenoid types. I haven’t finished the video yet but will do soon.
Such a shame that you stopped producing these excellent video's. Thank you for all your efforts!

THANK YOU...for sharing. You explain it so well.
Are you still making videos? It looks like there is some good content on this channel.
In your layout you use wire connectors on the end of your wires. What are they actually called and where can I get them?
Thanks, very well explained! SUBSCRIBED!!!

A very welcomed video. I'm also interested to see if you ribbon connect to the DS64. Regards Charlie.

Paul would the ribbon cable you use also work with the SE8C? Could you supply the group with the eBay seller? This is a most informative video.
