Hiya buddy, nice video.!! I made and use one of these T2LT's here in Tenerife where I now live and they work absolutely great. I have mine mounted onto a 6-meter fiberglass pole like yours, with plastic zip ties, which is then strapped to a 6' long wooden pole with heavy duty zip ties. The bottom of the pole sits in a water filled beach umbrella base outside my front door on my patio and 3 guy lines about half way up keeping it stable in the wind. This is what I use for my home base set up, along with a president grant 2 radio on standard 4 & 12 Watts. On the UK 40- FM and good skip conditions, I get into the Ch34-net in the UK on just 4 watts from here no problem, and on SSB I can easily get to most of Europe, the U.S.A & Canada and South America and the Caribbean too. My QTH is only 21 meters above sea level and it works just great. It's a lot cheaper and works just as well if not better than a proper shop bought home base antenna. Just thought i'd give you some info and encouragement with this antenna. Good luck buddy and keep up the good work with the vids. Cheers. Ray. 34CT4149
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it that do not use a Carbon Fishing Pole. They are highly conductive and have extremely thin walls ( to lighten overall weight).Fibre Glass has much thicker walls and is a lot heaver, which is a good thing....
Nice Cost Effective Way with good Performance, only thing was Your Audio was Very Hard to listen to, had to use a Earpiece in the End, Dunno if your Naturally Soft Spoken or Cam to Far Away, Def need a Lapel Mic or Something Whats the Field Set up time? Kept it as a Saved Vid👍 Anyhoo ,kept ut as a Saved Vid
Great video, cheers for posting it. I'm planning some outdoor activations with a 7m roach pole and a T2LT myself too. A bit confused with your SWR meter, it looked like you were testing the SWR with the meter set on FWD? I might be wrong, but the switch looked to be on FWD instead of REF. :-) Paul, 26CT2500.
I'd like to say it was a deliberate mistake ;) I guess with the sunstroke and screen glare I didn't see it. To be honest I realised the error once I finished filming but by then it was too late. The good news is 'No Radios were harmed during in the making of this video'. Well spotted!
Good video 26CT1994, had to put my headphones on for the audio, but hey SH, I notice you n Stuart don’t mention grounding with this set up so is it not necessary. Regards Barnie 26CT3250. 👍🏼
Cam't give you a technical explanation but yes no grounding required. Only thing to watch for is not to use a metal pole but those fibreglass roach poles/kite masts work a charm ;)
+Lancashire Wanderer totally agree on that. Since shooting this I’ve made dome changes to my set up and newer vids should have better sound quality. Future videos will have much less wind noise and I do more eq on the audio now so I hope you’ll notice a difference in the future. Thanks for you patience ;)
I'm getting my t2lt delivered tomorrow.
Can't wait..

That's a great comment and it sounds like you are really getting out there. Thanks for sharing 73s!
I dropped my fibre glass pole into a inch and a half Ali pole 25 ft high and has been one of the best antennas ever had on the house T2lt
How long did your antenna last do u keep it up everyday or take it down daily?

how many miles does T2LT of 1 meter hight reach with SSB?
I noticed a few other people had said the same thing on some of your other videos.

Great video but you really need to turn up the audio when editing, all your videos are of low volume and my phone is on maximum volume.
