Always thought the back rooms was like a scp thing surprised it took someone this long to combine them I love it
I think it started on the Infinite Ikea and became backrooms.
The backrooms is just a downgraded 3008 then.
SCP-000 THE BACKROOMS
Same always thought it was a scp thing lol
Downgraded?
This is what I wanted! The Backrooms don't need constant jumpscares of monsters. The concept of infinite empty rooms in and of itself is more than terrifying enough and there's so much to explore and lore to discover!
It's crazy to think an entire world such as the back rooms can literally be just considered an scp 💀
To be fair they'll try to contain any/all anomalies they can and if needed to, terminate, it if it's dangerous. Sooner or later they'll bound to catalogue the Backroom into an scp
Such a thing already exists in the sense of a forest which is bigger on the inside and contains a whole other like dimension
@@ryraey3195 Although if something is containable, even if dangerous, the SCP foundation tends to keep them alive to avoid a unknown consequence of termination, and it could have a future potential use
@@americangamer1632 that's fair. Plus it's not like they can easily terminate most scp. Also termination of scp depends on the vote of the O5 council.
@@americangamer1632 They've already got one site that I'm certain of utilizing a separate dimension, I think they use it for movable SCPs suspected or known to cause large quantities of destruction. It's not mentioned very often because it's an easy cop out for the really powerful yet movable SCPs, but cool nonetheless. In the case of the backrooms, and especially Level 0, like in this game, they've already stabilized it, just a matter of getting to it to store things.
For the people wandering (and hopefully IGP) the message that popped up around 9:07 , it stated “I’m stuck in level 188, Help”
Its at 9:07
The one at 16:39 says 827384
100 or 188
(100 is what i saw)
@@skeletonlord5255 me to
@Anomalia yeah you're right
Like the fact that IGP put an echo on his voice to go with the echo in game
Man's a certified genius
Master has presented dobby with a like
9:07 , 16:39 (827384)
Honestly I’m glad you mentioned this. He’s done this in other videos with voice effects to match the environment perfectly. The immersion is insane and makes the video that much scarier in my opinion 💯
One of the reasons that i watch IGP’s video. He always makes it immersive which not many can do.
Yea and when he is speaking in water, his voice is also changed
Adding the music to the poolrooms and making it like a melancholy heaven and it feels like a Resident Evil save room, it's so comforting and relaxing, a little creepy with the casual liminal but the music really puts you at peace, then the open area to see the endless clear blue sky with perfect and repeating silky clouds... it literally feels like a melancholy dream, where your alone and isolated, you wish you weren't but it still leaves you at peace...
Very vanilla skies like, great movie btw. Total mindbender like parts of this game
Its funny how this game uses atmosphere more than other back room games, and is scarier because of it. Just shows how perfect the original backrooms content was.
Because we played and/or watched so much backrooms with creature or apparition that we wait for it to happen here too and because of that we are even more scared since we don't know what and when something will appear if at all.
Now I’m thinking imagine how much worse the back rooms would be if a bunch of scp were thrown in there
now imagine they put scp 096
@@sanslol3177 or SCP-106...
@@Harleena-r2rto be honest he could probably enter and leave The Backrooms whenever he wants…
if by "worse" you mean shitter and more excruciatingly uninteresting yeah
and that's coming from a backrooms and SCP fan
somewhere here on the youtube was the series about GOC making pretty much the same, and i'll tell you - they did create an absolute hell of a mess.
I have always thought that backrooms with the scp involvement was always something that would be so cool to do. I always thought the infinite IKEA was similar to this.
I mean, the lore is what we make of it. Infinite IKEA could be an isolated section of the backrooms, or both of them could be artificial constructs with the infinite IKEA being the test run or experimental run and the finished product is the backrooms. Could also include SCP-354 (The Red Pool) into the mix. I'm curious to see if the developers of this game include SCP-354 or SCP-3008 (infinite IKEA) in this game later on. Would be extremely interesting regardless. Just purchased it to check it out myself.
cant make money off scp unless you have the scp creator's approval.
@@spitefirespartangaming Very true. I didn't think of that. It still could be possible that they reach out if they see something they like and want to use though.
Oh what if the backrooms was a beta test for the infinite ikea?!
there’s evidently even groups of people in the backrooms if you read the lore. people who couldn’t make it out but found a way to survive on some levels.
I think it would be really funny to see foundation members and A-sync explorers cross paths. Wonder what that interaction would be like.
YESSS!!! I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT THAT WOULD BE LIKE. SO COOL!
Like, you have this small science research facility coming into contact with the humongous knowledgeable secret organization. It's like a child still learning about the world meeting an old rugged senior who has seen so much sh*t.
The thing I hate about Backroom is that too much random stuff throws into it, and it ceases to be the "Backroom" we knew, it's not liminal space, it's just "survive being chased by another monster", but when it does become liminal space, it's just eerie, and nail it.
But anyway, love your content man, it always elevates the fun in the certain aspect I really wanted to give the game a shot even though it's not in my genre.
That's because too many people are creating too many lores for it. Originally it was just a labyrinth with yellow walls and carpet. Now there's different levels and monsters and it's taking away from the original myth to it.
It's suffering from slender man syndrome. It was cool and mysterious when almost nothing was known about it. But now it's been expanded on soo much it is just dull.
@@dixieduffy7 just calm down a little. The original backroom is still there for you to fanboi with.
Iirc og backrooms lore still had monsters for it on each level
@@RVNT9OE
The original backrooms HAD levels and monsters, people just only make games really with monsters as that’s scarier to some. People also seem to be more interested in the monster aspect of things over liminal space
23:55 Beautiful and relaxing. I can honestly listen to this all day.
You know I’m not surprised that the SCP’s have found a way into the backrooms, but it gives it a nice horror affect to it. I’m glad that the backrooms are getting more horror elements to it.
Backrooms has actually been expanded on a LOT since its inception as a sort of creepypasta. It's basically its own open worldbuilding project just like SCP now, and has all its own worlds, entities, etc. It has plenty of horror as is now.
Same, I mean seeing how to get in there you simply need to noclip I'd be surprised if the scp foundation hasn't already classified it as a scp and found a way to get in and out easily.
I agree, the backrooms idea felt a bit blank at this point for me. But now, it’s kinda fresh
The screen said “I’M STUCK IN LEVEL 188 HELP” when the screen glitched at 9:07 in the video for anyone wondering and cant get the video paused at the right moment to see the message.
@@EverestTheNobody ahhhh that made my skin crawl..🥺 he’s probably dead 😭 or forever stuck and managing to just barely stay sane and alive 😰
15:38 when you're baited by the exit door 🤣 best part of the game. Should be more false exits in games
Oh man.. IGP missed the note right at the 2nd chair he saw that says "the chairs are dangerous", lol. That completely changed how I felt around them and made that auditorium room moment freaky.
Timestamp pls
@@The.accurate.angels At 3:49 there's a note on the right that he doesn't notice, and then keeps missing out of his field of view even when he looks back at the chair.
Damn, I guess I assumed while I was busy talking that it was a light switch or something haha
This game looks so realistic, to the point where its kinda trippy. And since theres no super complex lighting system like you would see in Triple-A games, it actually looks real. 11/10
The problem with all the backroom games is the fact they dont focus on both properties of the backrooms. Its either all liminal space (which is always good) or its just monsters in what feels like are just Gmod maps pasted to look like backrooms.
We need liminal space with a rare chance of running into a monster.
that's why this game is great
This was legit hauntingly beautiful and frightening and genius. They really did amazing with this.
I'm bummed that IGP missed the note about the chairs being dangerous (unless he found it later and cut it out of the video). It's fun to see players be overly paranoid about random chairs.
I always knew the chair was the BBEG!
Lmao
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING

@@BlueRGuy would be funny if you could find a chair that puts out a very quiet and muffled version of that song.
10:41 I’m surprised he hasn’t heard of the dream man before, that’s a really old spooky thing like the Backrooms
Okay, yeah. This is the best backroom game I've seen. Other than Kane Pixels, I've hatted how flooded the market of Backrooms content has been, but this feels like a horrifying breath of fresh air.
Return to Render does great backrooms content as well IMO behind Kane. But instead of being this serious story like Kane's, he focuses more in humor, giving each one of the Hazmat suit guys some personality.
Right??? This is a CRAZY awesome rendition of it that really honed back on the origin of the backrooms: Liminal spaces, and the features and feeling of each floor instead the usual "run from scary monster in a maze" type backrooms experience. My mind was BLOWN when IGP said this was only the 1st chapter! That was a crazy amount of well made content, down from the voice acting and even the visual aesthetic of the camera chosen
Before Kane Pixels, there was Dinnerbone777 take on “the Backrooms” that I recommend checking out.
I also recommend you get out these fantastic “backrooms” creators as well: GeoDeo26, Lost in the Hyperverse, Matt Studios, and Ruster. (Enjoy)!
*check out, not “get out”. 🙃😅
This is the original feel of the original backrooms post. Liminal, not with trends that were inflicted upon the og feel from random people over time.
Very talented game developer, he knows his mechanics and visuals.
the whole idea of this is crazy, and to see such a great game being put together about it is refreshing
The thing that this game does well is it plays on your expectations, hall way after hallway, room after room, action after action of expecting something, a jumpscare, something to come and chase you,, but nothing happens the vast majority of times, the ambiance the lighting, it all played into an atmosphere of pure suspense, really cool
Man...I think the thing about The Backrooms that freaks me out, is the idea of just wandering around, lost, alone, until you finally die of starvation and dehydration...ugh....That drawing of the mans face that said, "Have you dreampt of this man before?"...I'm sort of freaked out. I had a nightmare when I was younger...maybe when I was 8 or 9. This man chased me around my home town. The whole town turned into like obstacles. There's one very steep hill near my house...I remember the way I got away from him, was I was able to slide down this hill, as I was still a kid, and he couldn't keep up. I woke shortly after. I am 36 now. I have never forgotten this man. He still haunts me.....WHY THE FUCK IS HE IN THIS GAME???!! I'm legit freaked out and need to dig into this more. Also, don't know if you noticed...but on the elevator door, there's an arrow pointing to the right
Im 37 and dreamed something similar as a a kid but never saw the things face, also whenever i jumped it felt like levitating for a few seconds similar to the gravity on the moon.
I had an experience very like this.
I was night fishing at a creek.
I sensed something in the water close to shore and got out of my chair.
It erupted out of the water and I turned and fled.
There was a steep sandbank behind me and if you have ever had that nightmare experience of trying to run while being persued by a deadly monster and being unable to, yeah, that is what it was.
BTW, I am an Australian and this was Buffalo Creek, Northern Territory in 1987 and the monster was a saltwater crocodile that weighed more than a ton. It crushed my chair, my esky and my fishing gear, total loss. Don't care a bit.
It later ate one of two guys who got drunk while fishing in their boat and fell asleep on the launching ramp at night.
I was the lucky city boy from "down south' that survived.
Australia is a place full of adventure if you don't pay attention or have common sense.
You my friend are one of several hundred maybe thousands of people who have seen this face
That's one clever trick, since it's basically a genericized mans face, just cartoonish and realistic enough to twig 'I think I've seen that before'. It's a cool trick and I respect it greatly.
Oh! don't be worried, that face is literally just somebody's attempt to generalize common traits found in people into one person _(I believe)_
Dream sounds scary af tho 😭
The reverb effect on your voice really makes this video. Such a simple detail, but it makes the whole thing feel so atmospheric. It makes so much sense that the SCP foundation might have some interest in the backrooms, and I'm glad to finally see a creator combining two of my favorite universes(? i suppose that's what they'd be called? unsure)
Cool pfp
It would be a nice turn of events:
The SCP foundation takes control of The Backrooms and decide to send all the dangerous speciments to it, turning them into invasive species, causing havoc and a possible war between the actual habitants of The Backrooms and the new creatures. The possibility of evolution, assimilation or creation of SCPs like:
- A full village of the dead or a hospital for The Plague Doctor.
- A swamp for the Hard to destroy reptile.
- The Old Man made of Bacteria.
- An IKEA inside another IKEA.
Many more.
a section could be a huge take over of the flesh that hates

28:26 This song is honestly so beautiful, it was written by Harry Dacre in 1892, this version was made by a computer called the IBM 7094 in the 70s I think, it may sound unnerving but its supposed to be a love song and this version is the first song ever sung by a computer, so amazing
The best times to watch igp are during the morning and before going to bed
Currently doing the before bed thing, im gonna have to watch some cat videos.
The backrooms as an SCP makes so much sense given the nature of the place. Maybe you’ll run into SCP personnel in the future chapters.
I really wanna see more people do renditions of the poolrooms like this I’ve always wanted to see the higher levels of it not just the dark lower levels keep up the good work IGP
To me the pool rooms are the only level in the BACKROOMS that's gives the feeling of deja vu
love your content-- i've only just started watching the video but i've seen gameplay of this game before, and I hope you had an amazing time playing it! reminds me of the complex found footage in terms of less anomalies, more of just fearing what could be around the corner
I love the details and effort that IGP puts in his videos. The reverb and echoing of his voice that matches with the atmosphere of the game.
The echo you give to your voice in the beginning is so cool and immersive.
The fact that you layered a echo effect for your voice to make it seem like you were really there added a lot to the video! This is my favorite horror game channel on UA-cam!
seeing him walk passed the notes on the wall hurts i always feel like i have to look at everything i can lol
23:43 This was good. So simple, but that moment of genuinely beautiful respite with that music in what is otherwise a horrifying situation was art
To be fair the Backrooms is constantly shifting and changing with infinite universes within the Backrooms, it would *NOT* be a surprise to see the SCP foundation. I see these types of things like in their own universe since it’s made by the people and is built to be constantly changing and twisting with things that would or wouldn’t make sense. Hell the concept of the Backroom alone makes no sense since rooms are like their own entity filled with entities
It's always surprised me how no one ever made a cross over thing with both considering how similar their concepts are in some ways. it's nice to see someone finally do it.
IGP sooner when this game adds another chapter, I wish to see a part two. From a game so unique and realistic looking, with one of my two favorite crossover's from the SCP Foundation and the Backrooms liminal space, it's so awesome just to see these two in one game. This game has some beautiful and realistic graphics, from places that feel like Deja Vu, and rooms and etc being extremely unsettling, I honestly have my mind blown by this game. And I'm not wanting to force you, but if you can, I wanna see another chapter of this soon when the other chapter comes out. I love these type of games that are so creative, and so inter, it's honestly amazing at where technology is now in 2023. I wish to see another chapter soon enough when it comes out, but for now that's all I wanna say. I love your videos IGP, I've been here on your channel since 2013 when your channel came out. The moment I saw you, it felt so comfortable to watch you play games from horror and etc. You always made me laugh many times, and made me feel excited when you posted. And till this day you still make me feel comfortable and excited with joy when you post. I love your videos IGP, keep up the work.
This approach is much more in line with how the original backrooms was meant to be, to invoke fear and suspense without there being anything at all with the addition of "entities" in the backrooms franchise it kinda departed from the main idea which was liminal spaces and liminal horror where the feeling of nostalgia and the feeling of u have already been here but u don't remember it quite well cause it is a distant memory means u might remember stuff slightly differently, in turn those slight nuances make the horrifying part because u don't know what really hidden beneath the surface. The irony of this is the recent backrooms games make it so theres tons of entities, creatures, and jumpscares to the point where its gone off path from the main idea so much that its starting to resemble the scp games and scp in general, but this "cross-over" with the backrooms and scp makes it more inlight with the original idea. All in all good vid again igp! >:D
Is “The Backrooms” an SCP? Manipulating you until you die of exhaustion then it consumes you?
Great vid IGP!
More like an scp that was to be a extra storage dimension that ended up being too vast and has its own will, that being to recreate our realm of reality but fails constantly, or is a fungal type scp that creates its own entities out of the life forms that have no clipped into it, that also want to assimilate you into the backrooms so they wont be alone anymore, maybe…
Mayhaps
Originaly into the lore of the Fondation its not. But in this game it is . And it kinda make sens to
No its not an scp people just take others good ideas and put it in the scp lore for no reason
First was siren head and now the backrooms
I am not a fan of that
Backrooms is not SCP. This game is just a crossover.
The poolrooms part where you sat in the peaceful music and clouds was amazing lmaoo
a backroom game in which the character is meant to die is interesting. often it's just a "run from monster" game or a "you escaped the backrooms" thing. but one in which you're just another life lost in the strangeness? a different take i like.
the way the guy started screaming as fell through the floor has to be the most accurate way to depict how someone would react to that, amazing work!
The transition from 0 to pool world was really well done
I think this is part of why Nemeses was so interesting to me too. It's map was a sort of liminal space. Liminal spaces feels like such a 90s thing too with some screensavers i remember, that and it pairs well with different architecture like brutalism
The crossover we didn't know we needed
Honestly I'm liking this interpretation so far. I love how they managed to keep the liminal horror aspect in tact as well along with just making things still feel vague and confusing, and even though I've lost a lot of interest in SCP, I actually don't mind it here, seems like a reasonable combination. Also the monster is an interesting take on Kane Pixel's wire monster, still keeping that look, but finding a new way to reinterpret it.
Had to click as soon as I saw the notification, that’s how you know your making great videos. Keep it up ❤
This is the ONLY Backrooms game that resembles what I have in mind. The colours , the feeling , the atmosphere , it's perfect.
Definitely need to do a coop with icy skilly and possibly drae?? Keep up the great work Indy! We love you and support you unconditionally!
This seems really cool 😆 love IGP’s videos ❤️
Imagine if they added a ending where you encounter the Mobile Task Force and they rescue you. That wold be epic.
This had me watching with fear the whole time! I have a massive fear of wandering through dark places alone😣
The slight mic echo you have works so perfectly

Lol 2024
Game/film with the slow burn revelation of the existence of The SCP Foundation would be gold.
This is one of those games where I’d rather pay the full price rather than the discounted price cause of the support the dev deserves. If only I had a pc
Given SCP Explained's SCP 682 in the Backrooms, I was wondering when someone would involve the SCP Foundation with the Backrooms.
IGP you mentioned you like the more liminal space aspect of the backrooms. Well there are two games coming out soon that you should check out! Subliminal and Anemoiapolis. Both are horror based.
Anemoiapolis releases soon and Subliminal is still in development but both are visually stunning and horrifying in the best of ways. I think you'd really like em. ^-^
YES MORE SCPS. I saw this coming a mile away cause of it's anomalous nature.
My crack theory about the Backrooms and the SCP Foundation, is that it's anomalous nature works just like Infinite IKEA but instead of it being in a fixed location that has an IKEA, to enter the Backrooms you Noclip on a random location that appears in any area, in any dimension.
The SCP Foundation appeared after it's discovery, trying to contain and study the Backrooms, when they discovered that it can't be contained and it's nature they left, since they established some facility there, they possibly found a way to enter and exist the Backrooms.
Now my hypothesis on what the Backrooms is, it's possibly a medium for dimensional travel that went AWOL. Made by a group of 5-10 people to achieve interdimensional travel. The project went AWOL because they couldn't control it's nature. Meant to be a temporary settlement between worlds or dimensions and continuously expand when finding worlds each level indicates whatever dimension they were in.
I like your idea of the foundation using the Backrooms as a containment cell for other SCPs, which would technically classify the Backrooms as a Thaumiel.
I like the Scp foundation and the Backrooms remaining separate things.
I like to think of the backrooms similar to a daudelaus labrynth, alive and changing, imitating real life settings, just to drive you insane. Makes sense it would be orchestrated under the SCP foundation.
This would be so cool omg
"I am stuck at level 100, help me" and "827384" flashed on the screen when the static hit

I love these type of Backrooms
It gives me a strange type of horror idk why
Bro the photo realism ....
23:52 thanks for giving us a moment to enjoy the atmosphere and the situation we’re in. You’re the first person I’ve seen let us do that 😊
17:40 that's terrifying as hell. Hahaha, I really want to see you play more solo game like this xD
The true spirit of the backrooms is the liminal spaces environment inducing terror, not creatures or monsters. At least for me, I prefer SCP and the Backrooms to be separate entities entirely. Although to be fair, the SCP foundation relies heavily on the liminal space environments to accentuate its creatures.
bro seeing no one/ barely entities is way more creepy than just running in a hall way and just the thought of being alone in a almost infinet place is unnerving
the message at 9:07 is "I'm stuck in Level 188 HELP"
In all honesty the backrooms deserves its own verse apart from the scp foundation being as expansive as it is, however I do like the idea👍

Not knowing a single thing about the SCP foundation, even I had a feeling it would be a matter of time before they'd step in lmao
The thing that flashed on your screen at 9:08 said “I’m stuck on level 100 help”
Honestly id be glad if in another universe, scp foundation actually manages to take over the backrooms or somehow control it to some extent cos then it would mean that they'd have infinite resources to explore that infinite irregular space (or atleast i thought scp foundation has infinite resources given that they literally have containments for most scps)
I'd love more of this game, or even that War Trauma game you mentioned if you haven't played it already! Stuff like this where it's just flat-out weird is the best kind of genre that the backroom/SCP really fits in, in my opinion at least
That last section when he was talking about objects clipping in made me think about something from when I was a kid. When I was little, I did believe that sometimes things just disappeared from reality because sometimes I would lose stuff in a way that seemed to make no sense. I've always remembered losing my stuffed pig ("George") at the swimming pool after closing. I was the last one there, the place was totally empty except for a couple of staff and I left him at the side of the pool for a couple minutes and came back to find him gone. I and the staff searched everywhere and there was no sign. I couldn't imagine someone had taken him as there had been nobody around in the area where I left him.
Obviously, as an adult, I dismiss these things. The pig probably just fell into the pool and got sucked into a filter or something... I'm wondering though now, if perhaps, these are common childhood experiences. If they are then the backrooms would seem to be playing on them by filling these rooms with random children's toys.
there is this scp game that incorporated the backrooms as an scp before the backrooms became incredibly popular and basically was only the photo of level 0. it's SCP-766, a custom scp made for the game and it's not in the wiki and shouldn't really be.
not only SCP-766 was an actually good homage to the creepypasta but it was actually a good portrayal of the backrooms, it really felt like an anomaly that we can't understand, plus the sense of dread by walking at infinite odd looking yellow walls. there was also no monsters in it but certain places in the backrooms could kill you if you stay still for too long.
entering SCP-766 was also the only way to exit from SCP-1983, meaning both SCP-1983 and SCP-766 were entrances to the backrooms. (some of canon scps in the game are rewritten in the game too which is an idea i adore)
i found it very awesome because the game was made kinda before the "scp community turning everything into scps" drama, and even after that i still find it great and not cancerous like people may think, the entire point of that scp game is to have an original lore with original, rewritten, homage, or canon scps. the game also looked, felt and was pretty good so i guess i can use that in their defense.
Seeing those lights at 10:27 flooded my brain with memories of Goldeneye64...
26:38 love that you said exactly what i was thinking xD
25:50 what is find cool is the crouching mechanic, hiding through the tall grass from some entity that can only see what’s above the grass
This time stamp has nothing to do with what he said, just the area itself
IGP really channeled his inner Homer Simpson 😂 15:39
I went and bought it as soon as you said it was on sale. Played a bit last night and finished this afternoon. Just came back to watch your playthrough, and I'm glad I did. When the lights went red, it would not have been nearly as terrifying if I had watched first.
Your after effects are tops. Always improves the experience.
I love it when the backroom is treated like the backroom instead of a 24/7 onslaught of monsters. 10/10 will watch again.
This is by far the best backrooms I’ve seen, it nails it in every aspect! I’m so excited for this whole game
You are making me absolutely TERRIFIED of backrooms. Please keep playing
19:54 that is the single most unnatural elevator I've ever seen and it's thus far the most disturbing thing I've seen.
