What can KTM do to improve its name?
Increase price.
Decrease performance ktm xl100
Maybe by launching 1290 series here in India with similar price to Kawasaki 1000 series
Sell big bikes with different styling... At a higher price point.. Perhaps a street version of the RC 8C.... That should pick up the reputation
They can save thier image if they run a nation wide racing programme both in adv bike and track racing. They have thier tagline as ready to race and don't spend a penny on motorsports in india, that's why ktm owners are seen as chapri

Being a mechanical engineer, i am saying that. Majority of people cant understand KTM, they are champions in dirt racing litteraly unbeatable.

@@KamaleshRoy-sk2hj ktms are made to extract every ounce of power possible from the engine, so the reliability factor goes down for those bikes and since they never use more than 2 cylinders in their engine, the vibrations are also heavy especially at higher revs.

Its true that 2nd hand bikes of KTM have actually tarnished the brand name.
Though that 2nd hand ownership dont last due to unsolvable problems and bike turning into money pit - if not maintained at service center. Service Center services are premium , hence most second hand users do not flock there. Very soon that ownership changes to Suzuki Burgman or Honda Shine or Bullet 😅😅😅.
I was amazed , the driver of a Wagon R owned by my neighbour one day chats me up as I was cleaning my 2012 Duke 200 BS3, lamenting how he had to let go of his second hand Duke 200 due to coolant leaking into engine chamber. I told him that authorised KTM service center would have solved it in a moment - he was dumbstruck, and then I boasted 😝, buying 2nd hand KTM is cheap, but having it maintained properly at authorised service center is what will separate the ownership experience. He was even more amazed to know that my bike is 11+ years old looking at it, he thought it was hardly 2years old due to look of an older generation .And then he was totally blown when he saw the pic of my bike having icy mountains, dense forests and sea shore in the background.
I left him with the suggestion to buy the lord Splendour or lord Activa and be done with it.

I personally like KTM and my favourite bike is KTM SUPERDUKE 1390 . If ktm want to re-establish his brand image, he can ban all 125 and 200 cc bikes or can equip anti wheelie and High speed stop.
Increasing prices and make all their 300 cc above bikes less affordable can also help them . Company can also take actions on bikers and add killswitch to all 125 cc and 200cc bikes so if those bikes exceeds their limits so it will automatically stop .

Funnily enough, the latest gen Duke and RC don't look good. It might drive away many people from buying it. Probably would help them keep the chappris away
Ktm design has always been not for everyone.
Well design is subjective, for instance i liked first gen a lott, second gen ok ok. Or may be in the start but by 2023 i wasnt thinking about my long time crush anymore, but suddenly that gen 3 appeared with heavier looks and more features i liked it overall so much that i ended up buying it immediately and even starting long rides. Two three months ago i would not be convinced that bikes are going to be fun again but here i am going harder than ever. Amazing handling and power whenever you need. Pleasure for a responsible rider.

The main reason for ktm chapri that ktm looks much better and every one can't afford this that who not afford they can jelaous and say negatively about ktm chapris aur normally look in all bikes royal Enfield and splendor also but every body have these bikes thats the reason no one can say chapri these bikes ...........

instead of anti wheely(wheelie) mode save money as instead of buying a bike that you ride almost less than 150-300kms a month you(chappri) can buy a splendor and save that money for going on long rides (about 1500 kms as 100kmpl is the average). How was my sales pitch do you like it if yes then save money and buy splendor. ;) :)

Same here mate, I have a Duke 390. My friends sometimes troll me with the tag that KTM has earned because of those 125/200 cc walo ki harkato ki waja se. 'Chapri' tag is bad for the KTM image. I am soon planning to upgrade to the middleweight segment but I doubt I will opt for KTM because of the tag. I must say KTM makes good motorcycles with uncompromising torque.

I think KTMs ko Ferrari ke jaise apne buyers ko ek deal sign karna chaiye, jisme buyers kisi tarah se koi traffic rules tod nahi sakte, unnessasary stunts nahi kar sakte, modding nahi kar sakte. I think ye strategy KTMs ko apply karna chaiye jo Ferrari use karta aaya hai kayi decades se!!
My cousin has ktm200. He bought it with the interest of riding. Now, he's embarrased with the chapri riders riding ktm. 😁

I believe, first KTM should address the issue and should mock such behavior attracting the attention of the new responsible riders. Than they should focus on making the beast controllable like you said anti whillie snd all. Then only there is a glimmer of hope for KTM to recover. Otherwise sadly the end of KTM might be near in India

In kerala chappri riders are called "COLONY RIDERS" OR "Kannapis". Every other KTM and NS riders in Kerala is a COLONY guy with a Colony gang.

yea, i think they Really need to do a revamp on their brand Image if they wanna compete in india's market, wrt sales. its funny cuz i was previously one of the peeps too that didn't like the KTM brand cuz of these reckless kiddos but later found out that there are responsible ( & sane😂) bikers out there that like them cuz they are, in fact, good bikes☕

Easy, KTM showroom Shouldn't sell their bikes to Chhapris... I love Duke especially 390 (Gen-3) , but won't buy it due to Chappri tag.. Man I have 5 bikes,

2. Gixxer 150
3. R15 (V3)
4. Benelli 302 R
5. QJ SRK 400
But.. no nothing from KTM..

The first thing ktm can do is stop selling the rc and duke 125 and only sell the 200 250 and 390 , just like the adventure 390 and 250 where you wont see any chhapri riding it

As bike lover ..i m doing those stunt before 13 years ago..but when i realized that its not good for someones life i quite to do those things..yaa i like ride speed but as pro rider not chapri..and todays generation thy dont know any rools and never follow the rools and regulations..if u get full empty road then u ride how fast u want not in publicly aria...its machine not ur body to obeys..machine can turn a very dangerous weapen sometime..

@@PAPASAARmoto Also a small correction. KTM's performance in MotoGP isn't that great where their bikes have been called out to be difficult to ride with no traction or speed in wet or dry conditions. They are built to be performing at a very specific set of track under very specific conditions. Dekhte hain 2023 kya gul khilayega.

Some suggestions:
Change the tagline to "Ready to Go" ya fir "Ready to Ride"
Introduce muter colors such as full black.
Introduce wheelie and Stoppie controls and keep them on by default.
turn the 125 and 200 cc segment bikes into normal, subtly designed bikes.
price hike.
Introduce higher cc bikes in the 500-800cc segment to promote healthy bikers to go for their brand.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Hire a PR team that will actively take down any video, reels, or social media posts that is promoting rash riding on any KTM bike.

the KTM 1290 is the only bike which can beat a Kawasaki h2 or h2r in pick up, so this guy who use KTM f**k up are name to, no safety they use to ride and thar short pant as they don't have money at all. please guy wear your kit and then ride your and, as I always say these words to my students you can ride as fast as you can but don't disturb the person who is next to you on the road.
