If you google clubber Lang's character he is so depressed after the loss he quits boxing loses everything and becomes near homeless for years till he picks himself up and becomes a boxing judge
Sylvester Stallone's brother, Frank Stallone, was the lead singer of the street corner "juke box" group(that sang "Take You Back") in the first 2 films. And he sang the song "Pushin' " during Rocky's training scene early in this movie. We catch a quick glimpse of him singing in that scene as well. His biggest hit was "Far From Over" from the Staying Alive soundtrack.
Rocky 1 & 2 gives us more of a nuanced character building love story between Rocky & Adrian. Rocky 3 takes a more direct action approach. We get that golden speech from Arian that validates how much they depend on each other. As an antagonist, Clubber Lang is intended to be fairly 2 dimensional to keep the focus on Rocky's internal struggle. Rocky's rematch with Clubber Lang starts round 1 with Rocky behaving like an Apollo Jr. Round 2 is a wake up call for Rocky that he isn't Apollo Jr. Round 3 Rocky still uses the skills he learned from Apollo, but he goes back to fighting his way. Rocky has to prove to himself he is more than just a protected fighter under Mickey's wing. He is also more than just a trained Apollo Jr. as well. By winning the fight his way - Rocky revalidates himself mentally that he deserves to be the champion by being true to himself and his fighting nature.
I had to google: "A rabbit punch is a blow to the back of the head or to the base of the skull. It is considered especially dangerous because it can damage the cervical vertebrae and subsequently the spinal cord, which may lead to serious and irreparable spinal cord injury." lol I have loved rocky for 40 years. I also love your all's reactions and recently subbed. Keep up the awesome reactions!
Leonard Newman was a famous artists from the 70's and 80's. His work on sports and stars were his better known works. The freeze frame converted to art was his. He was also in the movie. He is the man in white sketching while Apollo is training.
The brilliance of the Rocky movies is you forget you're watching a movie. You feel as if you're watching a real person's life play out. Stallone is a legend beyond words !
Clubbers style isn’t all that hard to counter. He basically swings for the fences with every punch, which is easier to see coming and also leaves him very vulnerable to being countered. He’s more of a street fighter then a boxer
Hi guys, great reaction, this fight was modelled from the Muhammid Ali and George Foreman fight, George was the big hitter, had never gone past 3 rounds, Ali took everything foreman had for 8 rounds, trash talked him spun of the ropes knocked foreman out to regain the heavy weight title
1. My favorite of the Rocky movies. Rocky IV is almost as good as this. 2. Where I lived had that pinball machine and I kicked the shit out of it. (Top 5 scores) 3. Micky's death shakes everyone. 4. "Eye of the Tiger" was from a band called Survivor. Their other hit was "High on You". 5. The woman swooning over Rocky that Micky chases away was Sly's wife IRL 6. Kudos to Mr. T for playing a man with absolutely no redeeming qualities. 7. IRL Clubber Lang(and his ego) would be back. In movie land, been there, done that. 8. RIP Paulie/Burt Young.😇 9. RIP Apollo/Carl Weathers.😇
Going by the "feel" of the movie, 1 and 2 belong together. 3 and 4 belong together. 5 is a weaker, albeit entertaining sequel that tries to recreate the atmosphere of the first. 6 wraps it all up perfectly. Looking forward to the rest!
Subscribed! It sounds like a joke but I honestly believe this might be the hardest directing job ever. Stallone wrote, acted, directed. I love Scorsese and Fincher, but they never had to wrestle Hulk Hogan and stay under 5% body fat.
Thank you for the sub! 💚 And I agree, when we started this series I never expected to be so impressed with the talent of Sylvester Stallone but I am. What a talent!
I disagree with your better half man ....we had two prior films with getting to know micky so i don't believe micky dying didnt have emotional weight...i dont feel it was rushed..
Paulie in Apollo's old gym: "I don't like these people!" Y'all: I don't think Paulie is being racist, he's just scared. Paulie, moments later: "He can't train to this jungle junk music" Y'all: okay that's racist 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Filmmakers huh? What films have yall worked on? People like to put titles and labels on themselves just to make themselves look better or sound significant
The photograph you flashed of Hulk Hogan supposedly standing on a platform to look much taller than Rocky is definitely fake. The out of proportion legs in that picture make that clear. As for Hulk Hogan's actual height, they took the already exaggerated height of the Hulkster at the time (6'7" or 6'8" when he was probably legitimately 6'4" or so) and exaggerated it even more for Thunderlips (7', and 390 lbs. when Hulkster was probably around 300 and billed at 320.)
If you google clubber Lang's character he is so depressed after the loss he quits boxing loses everything and becomes near homeless for years till he picks himself up and becomes a boxing judge
Wooo I get a glimpse of what you're looking at .
Adrian's speech was the realest 💯 That's all a guy needs. And damn, Carl Weathers is awesome in this. Thanks guys 👍

A body shot can be best described by Joe Louis, "Kill the body and the head'll die".

R.I.P. Carl Weathers #ApolloCreed 🙏 ❤

When Rocky wails over Mick its just Heartbreaking
The scene where Mickey dies has become so hard for me to get through. It's so similar to how it was for me when both my mom and dad died in my hands
Amazing reaction you guys by the way

If Clubber had a redemption arc just like Rocky and Creed.......Clubbers would beat both of them......Clubbers would have turned into Mike Tyson
subbed for the ROcky and Creed reactions
Can't wait for your Rocky Balboa (Rocky 6) reaction.
Go on! 4 and 5 are a little odd in different ways, but 6 is a sensation.
Hulk hogan about this time was about 6’8 or so. But he’s had dozens of back surgeries that shrunk him down a bit
Hulk Hogan now stands 6foot 4.
mick cant hide the fact that rocky is only 5'2 anymore
you guys are great! ...been waiting patiently for this! cant wait till u guys do the next rocky movie!
Masterpiece ever. Great
The street corner singer in 1 and 2 and we hear here in 3, is Frank Stallone, Sly's brother.
There is a directors cut of Rocky 4 that holds up to time a bit better. Although the theatrical release is required viewing.
I believe rabbit punches are puches that land behind the ear or the baack of the head

Clubber's fighting stlyle appears to be a Joe.Frazier/George Forman hybrid.
@@3912James I disagree, Joe, stood more with a crouch, with a funny bouncy up and down movement, Joe was a beast tho
I like your reaction very much. Cant wait for another.
Bonjour de France 🇫🇷 I love this movie "Clubber Lang" the best of Bad Ass 👍 Vive le bon Cinéma 🎬
R.I.P. Pauly 🙏

Did you know that hulk hogan is shorter now because of all the surgeries on his back.
Alright guys - with that episode, right from the start, you made me wanna watch Rocky 3 again! 😆
Calling people a Chump and also Jive Turkey needs to come back! You can tell I'm a 70s baby 😂
😂 So should the “shaggin’ wagon” lol
@@filmbenders 😄
Fun Fact: The scene where Rocky is training, and the lady asked Rocky for a kiss. She is Stallions ex wife, they have 2 sons.
Oh wow this is so cool!
Hulk use to be 6'8 but due to injuries to his back from his leg drop he's now 6'3.
You two should have more than 1K subscribers. I'm sure you'll have more when you react to Rocky IV.
Thunderlips Brother!
👄
Clubber is the only one who knocked down Rocky. Respect.
Hulk Hogan was a legit 6’7 at the time

Agreed with that 5 is better when it’s no longer the final chapter Rocky balboa was a spectacular end

I pulled that photo straight from Sly's Instagram so if it's fake you'll have to take it up with him lol.
@@filmbenders Right, but still, t’aint real. 😆
If you thought Rocky 3 was great wait till you see Rocky 4!!
We’re filming tomorrow! 👀

A black training a white dude to kick ass anota black ? Colors don’t matter
This might be the dumbest comment ever posted on a reaction video to this movie.
Congrats.
Talking to much.. calm down
I loved it! They're awesome
I agree. Talking during the walk in of thunder lips, they missed some good banter
