Casio CTK-6250 (Red Panel version of the CTK-6000) detailed tour and sounds

- This is basically a version of the CTK-6000 with a red panel on the front and a slightly different button arrangement - It looks way funkier! At the time of making this video, it was in my top 5 for home keyboards. Times have changed, but it's still pretty great fun.
Thank You for "zipping" through the keyboard functions and sounds. So many UA-cam reviewers try to be "cutesy", talk too much or seem more interested in promoting themselves than introducing the instrument. Great Job !!
You're most welcome, and furthermore it was good to get your feedback because I've tried to make the channel exactly as you described. I figure that the videos aren't about me, or about having some laughs - it's about the instrument :) Gearfacts
I look forward to more of your reviews honestly this was the most watchable review I've seen on UA-cam thus far and I've watched (endured?) alot of them, again, Thank You!!
Thank you for the great demonstration! I'm sold.
Thanks Rik :) #gearfacts
There is SD Card slot, USB slot, Sustain 6.5 mm jack, Audio in 3.5mm, Mike volume, Line in 6.5,, L & R, Headphone 6.5mm AND 12 V Adaptor OUTLET...
Great video! You finally described all functions.👍
Cool, thank you for watching Gearfacts!
Awesome review
Hey thanks for that :) there's been a lot of trolling lately so it's nice to get some good feedback!
Gearfacts I know how you feel, the world can be cruel but we need to keep the kindness going . Peace and love my fellow human being.
Hace unos 15 dias compre ese teclado y la verdad es que estoy totalmente satisfecho y contento!!! Aun lo estoy conociendo y cada vez que lo prendo, me asombra lo que voy descubriendo!!! El mejor teclado que he tenido!!!!
Hola Gustavo. Apuesto a que los chicos de Casio estarían muy felices de escuchar tus palabras. Gracias por esperar a Gearfacts :)
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright, thank you!:)
Hi there, I'm considering a 2nd hand ctk6250... for my kids and myself to learn on and use in a band situation eventually. Mainly for learning though. It doesn't have the inbuilt lesson system that newer ones have. Would you think that this ctk6250 is suitable and still good enough by todays standards? Or do you think I should be getting a casio with the lesson system inbuilt? Is the lesson system good? Cheers, Kevin
The lesson system is pretty hopeless as I recall, but I've heard that some people enjoy it. I think there are better sources of learning info, like youtube or (ideally) actual lessons. The 6250 is a great fun keyboard so if the price is right, I say go for it :)
Hi there gear facts, great channel and thanks for your earlier reply to my question re ctk6250. Are you familiar with medeli m17? If so would you choose medeli m17 over Casio ctk6250 if they were both priced about the same? For kid learners and myself too.. cheers
I'm not familiar with that model, but I'd be very surprised if any Medeli keyboard out-performed the Casio 6250.
Yo, my sustain pedal won’t work. Any thoughts? The “Rhythm” button is on & don’t know how to turn that off. Maybe that’s the issue?
Does anyone know how to record in real-time with the metronome on?
What do u think is better? YAMAHA PSR E-363 or casio ctk 6250?
Hi ,I have a question ,I like the look of this keyboard how does the sound quality compare to the ctk 7000? ,Also I know you've done some helpful videos on the ctx3000, and 5000,on the ctx series is it just the real life instruments piano sax etc that are better ?how do the ctk synth sounds compare to the ctx sounds ?Would love to see you do a sound compare of say the ctx 3000 and ctk 6200 or 7000 .Thanks i enjoy your videos .
Thanks for the message Steve. First of all it has to be said that the CTX series has a new sound system that is a much better than the older CTK keyboards. I mean a really big difference. As for comparison between the CTK6*** and CTK7*** units, it's mainly the drawbar organ controls which are great for keyboardists playing classic rock or cathedral epics but unless that's a specific interested for you it's not worth the extra money. I like your idea about a comparison video between the CTX and CTK models, I'll do that as soon as I get the respective units together in the same room :) Gearfacts
@@gearfacts Thanks for your reply .Its very helpful I think I'm going to go for the Ctx5000 ,I was just unsure about the Ctk series I've watched some of your vids on them ,but Casio has so many models it can get confusing haha .Thanks again .
Hello.. is there a way to edit and save the sounds you like?
Yep there's a full tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/3HmQBnRtOIg/v-deo.html
Can this keyboard do Scale tuning and save the presets? So if I want to play in something other than 12 Tone Equal Temperament, can I tune each note in the octave individually and save my tuning?
No, it can't do that.
how do I remove percussion from music/ song off casio ctk-6250 61 keys portable keyboard
I don't know ....good question. Maybe there's something in the function menu where you can set perc volume to 0? Maybe google the question, someone might have a solution. Gearfacts
Yamaha PSR-33 and PSR-36 is 30 year ago musical keyboard that in 80s is rhythum design for chinese song.can adjust chord and bass pattern and instrument sound on rhythem..these casino rhythem met my need..and rumba is most lively...i gonna check out specification more for these product..
Hi...does this keyboard has the flute tone in it?
Yep, and several other flute-like tones as well. Thanks for watching Gearfacts :)
I'm torn between the CTK-6200 and the CTX-700/CTX-800. It seems that the CTX has higher quality sounds, but the CTK has more features, like effects editing, arpeggios, and multitrack recording. Which would you recommend?
You're right about the extra features but personally I would go for the better sounds of the CT-X. The difference is huge, and you can add those other features externally if you find you really need them :) Gearfacts
@@gearfacts Thanks for your opinion! I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
Can you do multi layered recordings
Yep
Hi Gearfacts u have really nice vids on Ur channel, would really appreciate Ur help deciding between CTK 6250 and the CTX 700 i'm just starting to learn to play on my own both is going for same price I like the extras on the CTK but don't know the difference between them in regards to sound quality and keys feel please help me
CTX 700 CTX 700 CTX 700 CTX 700 CTX 700 !! They are the same keyboard in most respects, but the sound is so much better on the CTX 700. They feeling of the keys is the same (to me, anyway). Good luck and thanks for watching my channel! Feel free to ask for info any time :) Gearfacts
How long can it record for?
Like would it be good for recording songs longer than 5 minutes?
I think it's about a 40000 note memory, so I guess it's likely that it could hold the average 5 minute song. Remember that 40000 'notes' includes high-speed messages such as pitch bend and control changes so if there's a lot of that kind of thing, then that'll eat into the memory more quickly :) #gearfacts
Love your vids! Just starting out and need your advise what to buy. I can get CTK-6200 plus a stand for 80 or a CT-X700 on its own for 120. Thanks in advance.
I'd spend the extra and get the CT-X700. Big jump in sound quality, equally difficult to operate :) GF
@@gearfacts ok what about a psr-e443 have found one for 100. I hear Yamaha are better than Casio?
Ooh now it gets tough ...I think the 443. The sounds aren't quite as good as any CT-X but it's user-friendly and it has those awesome dynamic control knobs.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply. I am now the proud owner of a Yamaha PSR E443 keyboard. 😅
what speaker are you using? is it from the built-in speaker? how does it sound when it is lined-out?
That's the built-in speakers you are hearing. It has much better sound with a direct recording (this video was made before I got serious about audio!) GF
Do you still have it? If so how is it holding up? I'm considering buying this model.
serious Dopamine Keyboards are reliable machines by nature. Even with moderately rough handling they’ll generally last for 25 years or more and this model is no exception :) #Gearfacts
I’m eyeing this specific model, but can’t seem to find soMe answers to questions i have. Can you record and store your own samples to use and integrate into songs I’d like to create? And can you record your own songs with this? Or would I need to use some kind of other software or something? Sorry to be all over the place, I’m a complete beginner but have so much noise and music in my head dying to come out.
No problem Bryan, happy to answer your questions! The CTK-6250 can record your composition and even convert it to a wav file for your computer. It can also play back wav files but it can't store samples in any form. In other words no, you can't integrate samples audio into your compositions or live playing. I'd highhly recommend the Yamaha PSR-E463 if you want to put samples into your composition. Hope that helps, feel free to ask any more questions :) gf
Thanks it’s much appreciated!
What connections at the rear ie USB, Midi, 6.5 jack, phono etc ?
Unfortunately this machine left the Gearfacts studio some time ago so I can't provide any more information about it right now. I'm sure google would have the answers. But I'm always looking for gear and another one might show up soon on Gearfacts :)
@@gearfacts Thanks for replying so quickly, I found a pic of the rear connections on a site here. www.lojasamericanas.com.br
Hey don't you think casio ctk series piano keys make squiqi sound while playing, Actually can even here it in this video...
Slightly, yes. No big deal for me, but some players might find it annoying.
have you tried out the casio wk 245? i'm torn between the two
I haven't sorry. The extra space provided by the WK series does make playing really comfortable though :) GF
@@gearfacts HI! May I ask, what do you mean by extra space provided by the WK series? Do you mean more keys?
@@Sarah-jp3ws Yep exactly. 15 more I believe.
Is it good for a beginner ?
It has more features than a beginner would need, but essentially yes, it a good one to learn on :) Gearfacts
does this keyboard have USB port
Yep. Thanks for watching Gearfacts :)
Hi, is this exactly the same as the 6200 or is it improved apart from the cherry red panel? I was going to purchase the 6200 and I'm in the UK but I can't seem to find the 6250, it does look nice but I wondered if it's any different? thanks
Kindest regards
David
The red panel is the only difference :) Thanks for watching Gearfacts!
Thanks, that is surprising as the sounds seem so much better, are you sure that there are no extra sounds as the product details on amazon seem to differ when it comes to the number of rhythms and sounds, or have they just got the details wrong?
Oh ok, well now I'm not so sure... I've reviewed both on UA-cam and they seemed the same to me, but I guess the 6250 could have a few more sounds to justify the higher model number. It's not worth any extra money unless you really like red, though haha
I was close to purchasing one yesterday, but now I've seen the Casio MZ-X500, I must have that instead, it makes the CTK6000/6250 look like a child's toy. I need to save up a few more pennies but it'll be worth the wait. I was offered a Korg PA300 yesterday at a very good price but again, it's not a patch on the Casio.
Man o totally hear you - that MZ series looks great. Hopefully I'll get to review on soon. Thanks for watching Gearfacts:)
Is it worth a pickup?
It's a little bit outdated now, with Casio's new CT-X keyboards in the shops. Gearfacts
What is the price of this keyboard now please reply
They don't make this one anymore, but you can get it online for about $US150
Does any body know how to turn on the sound on the left side first c key. Theres no sound coming out. Please help.
If it is only that key not working, then there is a bad contact underneath it. It is quite easy to open the keyboard up and fix this by cleaning the contact point under the key, there are several UA-cam videos about how to do this. I'm confident that it will work!
@@gearfacts but the thing is i just but on zzound like a week ago.
Oh ok, well that is covered by warranty so you can get it replaced by the seller. If it's only that one key that is not working, then it's definitely a fault.
What should i buy? Casio CT-X800 and CTK-6250 have same price in my region 😂
I'd definitely go for the CT-X800 if the price is the same :) Gearfacts
Hey I have that keyboard like that
Can it have a pedla in it?
Yep. Thanks for watching Gearfacts :)
@@gearfacts can i touch the keys with it?
Bossanova...rhumba..samba..salsa
reggae..slow rock is suit oriental song..
Can I plug my electric guitar into it ?
Hmmm I can't remember (it's gone now) but if you do a google search for "CTK-6250 aux" you should get an answer. Another good way is to google the model number followed by "rear" and then go to picture results for the search, it's a good way to get a close look at a devices inputs and outputs /GF
@@gearfacts thanks I saw a guy playing electric thru a very old Yamaha and it sounds like a full orchestra fantastic, I have just got a Casio1550 but it has no aux connections which I want
@@gearfacts I took a photo off the manual on Casio web site ..I'm on FB David Sheriff
@@gearfacts This has the following connections: SD Card slot, USB, Sustain 6.55mm jack,Audio in 3.5mm, Micro in 6.6mm jack, Microphone volume, Line in L & R 6.5mm, Headphone 6.5mm and 12 volt adaptor..thats it
Just had a look on FB, and to my surprise there are 5 David Sheriffs haha ...I don't think you're the short African guy, or the guy with underpants on his head though, so that narrows it down :)
I do admire you for giving enthusiasm to some absolutely awful sounds. I was a great fan of the old "silver" generation of Casio Boards - the WK3500 was superb! I had a WK7600 and was largely disappointed. But my main criticism is clackety keys on Casios. Ooooh, you've just demonstrated a voice that sounds like a toy keyboard I bought for a kid at a charity shop. Must go but Thanks Again.
I prefer oriental style rhythem keyboard than western style rhythem keyboard..cos i playing chinese song..hongkong song.and children song..these keyboard suitable my song that i playing...
I like what you did (or tried to do), but an audio based episode, the sound quality of this video is pretty disappointing. Lots volume rising and dropping, muffling, volume spikes. Meh, but I do like all the features you demo’d.
Yeah this is from way back before I was serious about UA-cam. I know the audio is poor but I thought it leave it up just so people can get the idea about this great keyboard :)
I’m six year late. Women , am I right?
Careful, that's 11% of my viewers! ;)
Awful sounds. Though the CTK series offers a much greater library of voices over yamaha in this range, still the voices sound inferior and toyish.
Yep they're not as good as PSR-E series from Yamaha. I think the Yamahas have more sounds too, actually.
