- I never realized this but this show is the among the last opportunity at SeaWorld where you'll see trainers do waterwork with any kind of whale! As of this year, macaws are no longer in this show. Please see below for highlights:

Since the killer whale, false killer whale, and pilot whale waterworks during shows have been discontinued for one reason or another, that leaves the beluga whales that still do waterworks during their show at SeaWorld San Antonio.

Are belugas and Pacific white side dolphins neighbors in the wild?
Their ranges slightly overlap in some areas although belugas have a much more polar range the the dolphins. That's why they can be in the same water temperature without a problem.
They may slightly overlap off of the southern Alaskan coast, but only minimally. There are populations of beluga whales in Cook Inlet, in the Gulf of Alaska, but white-sided dolphins likely don’t interact with belugas further north, such as in the Bering Sea, Beaufort Sea, Chukchi, or Bristol Bay. The highest concentration of beluga whales is off the northern coast of Manitoba, in western Hudson Bay. At least spring through summer it is a huge number, before they move elsewhere during the colder months.
Pacific white-sided dolphins are more common in warmer waters, especially off of Southern California and Baja, and even further down Mexico’s west coast. I live in San Diego, and shockingly, during 2020 quarantine we had a beluga whale swim right offshore. It hung around for a few days and then disappeared. Nobody knows where it came from, or what it was doing or where it ended up, but it was WAY out of range down here. It was possibly overheated with their Arctic blubber. They think it was a young beluga that was exploring and just decided to take a trip down the west coast. So in 2020, yes, they did interact in the wild. Lol.
