I put a double-din touch screen in mine with car-play, have the TRD shocks and springs. Not fast but handles great and dead reliable, and with the stereo it has the modern amenities of a newer car. Gets about 30mpg city and 39 highway at 180k miles with no fluid leaks or issues. I really love it and its so easy to work on.
Love how they try to sell a small-ish frugal car to Americans by making it bigger (sedan) and only supplying it with the largest engine in the range burdened by ac and an automatic. Europe got the 998cc (60.9 cubic inch) 3 cilinder manual 5-door hatchback and it's fine, it's boring, but it's fine. It's comfortable, large enough inside for 4 adults, fast & safe enough for normal traffic and holds it's value very well 2nd hand.
Americans drive fast so you need the biggest motor they can keep up on highways it highway speeds but since it's a subcompact and must be frugal to... But in the end these cars did not last because some of these people want these huge SUVs that are just unnecessary... There is only one sub compact left in America and that's the Nissan versa... 😢
Not really, in southeast asia, where its marketed as the vios, its sold with the same 1.5l engine as well. no 1.3 or 1.0 options. The 1.5 is not the largest engine in the range though. there is a Yaris SR model marketed in the UK with a 1.8L engine
T o y o t a Y a r i s . There, My 62 year old AMERICAN ass SAID IT. How "foreign" does it seem? Toyota WAS selling a butt kilogram of cars in the US by 1977 let alone 2007, So "we" know PHONETICALLY it's pronounced "Toyota Yaris", Meanwhile this AMERICAN "presenter" COULD NOT say the AMERICAN brand "Oldsmobile" - to him it's Ohs Mobile. LOL. As to the "uninspired" Echo, WTF!?! it was a CAR, Not a "theme" or a "show". The Echo was a CAR, that did CAR things, Ya know as a CAR. It was NOT meant to be a "statement", The Echo was meant to be a CAR. (Same as the Yaris). My head hurts when I read or watch "critics" who think EVERY cars should be a Porsche 911 or whatever.
15 + years later and used 07-11 Yaris still sell like hotcakes due to their simplicity, reliability and fun to drive.
A lot of them are clapped out junk too

In 2007 they start at $11k up to 13.5k and it's funny how some dealers are still selling them at that price in 2024 😢😮
Used 2015 Yaris with low mileage are selling around $15k in 2024. Crazy how well they retain their value for such a basic car (in a good way)
2011 Yaris was the best car I've ever owned!
If you have this platform, get yourself a TRD rear sway bar for less than $200. Car corners awesome with it.
9.5 seconds to 60 is excellent for this type of car, and that was with the Auto. I can imagine the Manuel would be 9 seconds.
I would love to get my hands on a 5spd M/T sedan with stereo option
Just picked a 5 speed sedan up with 65K original miles!
The center I.P. makes sense to cut the cost between LHD/RHD models. THIS kind of "bean counting" i can get behind because it makes sense.
I Like Vios Style from the Philippines.
I have an 08 with 250,000 miles. Runs great but has a butter face.
The Yaris was quite boring until they turned a Mazda 2 into the Yaris iA, and what a great car with the 6M it is.
Great car is Toyota Yaris
Most people didn't care about that shit they just needed a car 😂
Nah, the Mazda Yaris is a heap of shit. Doesn't hold its value nearly as well and isn't as reliable.

Nobody wants a manual lmao, they are for third world countries.
@@jermainec2462 Also the Mirage
This automatic is actually more durable in this car believe it or not.

High 30s gas mileage in an age of $5 gasoline in California. Only get the manual 5-speed. The Automatic is a dog
Automatics are for 6cyl and higher engines imo
The automatic transmission is more reliable than the manual, that's the one to go for, IMO.
Ac eats up the horsepower, it barely has enough power to move five people😂
