WEICON Plastic Steel for the repair of steel and stainless steel chutes after exposure to flue gas

In this video, we show you how to successfully repair steel and stainless steel chutes damaged by fume exposure using WEICON HP, WEICON WR2 and WEICON Casting Resin MS 1000.
The process begins by carefully mixing WEICON HP(www.weicon.de/.... The resulting homogeneous mass is then applied to the surface to be repaired and embedded with aluminum oxide bricks.
The next step is the repair of blowholes with WEICON Casting Resin MS 1000 ( and WEICON WR2. First, WEICON Casting Resin MS 1000 is mixed thoroughly and bubble-free, then it is applied to the surface and worked in to ensure a permanent repair.
Finally, WEICON WR2(www.weicon.de/...) is heated to 30 degrees and applied to the surface previously treated with WEICON Casting Resin MS 10008www.weicon.de/...) to complete the repair process.
This repair process ensures that the chutes are fully functional again and can withstand the effects of fumes.
Epoxy resin adhesives are reaction adhesives. The two-component systems consist of a resin and a hardener and are called WEICON Plastic-Steel. The name plastic steel indicates that the cured adhesive is as hard as steel and can be mechanically processed and machined. It can be drilled, milled, sanded or filed.
Depending on the type, the epoxy resin system contains a different resin component, such as steel or aluminum powder or mineral fillers. This improves the technical properties of the adhesive. Due to the filler material, for example, particularly high abrasion resistance, impact strength, compressive strength and temperature resistance can be achieved.
