I think it's Great that the association is making this rule. Tank is Badass but he is the Champ at 135. If you feel that fighting at 135 Drains you then go fight at the weight you should be fighting at. And this goes for EVERYONE. I am a big fan of Ryan and I love rewatching him SMASH Devin but he a hell of alot bigger than Tank. If he can't beat him at 135 than go to the class you Belong

“Weight drain” is the way to make “weigh bully” seem unfair. It’s bullshit. Weight bullying is dangerous, makes a mockery of weight classes, and gets fools to think it’s a fair fight.

The practice of dehydrating and then putting back on 15-20 pounds the day of the fight is dangerous for all involved. Incredibly unhealthy for the fighter doing this. Dangerous for his opponent who is then forced to fight a substantially larger opponent. One of the best things that could happen to combat sports is to put this practice to an end once and for all. Fight at your natural weight or don't fight at all.
This already a rule of the IBF you can only rehydrate 10 pounds

Guys like Ryan that walk around at 180 and fought at 135 is insane…. Ryan is 5’10, it is very unhealthy for a person 5’10 to be 135 pounds. Ryan should be fighting at 168 if we are being honest but fighters today try to get the height, reach, and weight on fight night after you rehydrate advantages to make it easier to win fight and Floyd learn a while ago how to combat that. You can’t fault a guy that’s putting his lively hood on the line for wanting an even playing field 💯

not to mention i feel every sanctioning body should have a mandatory rehydration limit, it’s healthy for the sport and shows you who’s really better at the weight class💯 also prevents people from the classic “weight bullying” and they are less likely to fight at unnatural weight classes
