I requested more collaborations in the comment section of that video. You two are good together! I think some future collabs could be really interesting.
Blake was just shocked/hurt about that wor "bump". Because it has many also unpleasant connotations. She was pissed that her child wasn't recognised as a child and just as a bump. That was a trigger for her. It could be that she herself when she was a child wasn't recognised.
@@tagtraumhoch2 Then she should have warned the interviewers. Now she has to back peddle I’m not a fan of either of these two. They clearly are capable of being horrible people. ☹️
I get Kjersti’s pov that doing another video with Blake now about that interview eight years later would be awkward. But if I was Blake, I’d call Kjersti and apologize. Or I’d write that apology on a card to include with a bouquet of flowers sent to Kjersti. Following up, Blake would do well to make sure on the next press junket, to give Kjersti a better and more positive interview. Really that is the only sincere and honest way of showing someone that prior negative behavior was learned from and I’m being more careful and respectful of interviewers’ feelings. I remember the rude interviewer that kept goading Robert Downey Jr. and he finally just got up and walked out. THAT was a rude and obnoxious jerk of an interviewer! This Kjersti really did not deserve the ‘mean girl’ treatment by Blake. It’s a 15-20 minute interview, so get it together or don’t agree to doing press junkets to promote your movie.
When Kjersti said that Blake's behaviour hurt her confidence, I felt that. People might say "so what if people were rude to you? They're not worth it, just move on" but no. You'd start thinking if it's your fault that things go south, maybe you didn't handle the situation well enough, and all other negative thoughts that could really pull you down. I'm currently recovering from a trauma for job interviews. I had 5 interviews and was still hopeful, I failed but I thought "it's a learning process, I'll get better and eventually land myself my dream job". But one bad interview where I got a really blunt, mean comment from an interviewer made me think "maybe I'm simply not cut out for this job.." I hope everyone in the working industry is sympathetic of each other and try not to attack somebody's vulnerable spot. You never know how much your words or behaviour could affect the person's life.
Also, don't come @ me and say "if you're hurt by a comment, maybe you really aren't cut out for the job" or "maybe your resolution isn't that strong after all". I'm not giving up on my dream. I'm currently taking a break from job interviews and focusing on my current job, trying to rebuild my confidence again before I try out again.
Maybe it's because you're too cut out for the job and one or more of the interviewers see you as a threat? Don't know what your situation is, but I used to research my target companies and find out what was valuable to them so I could show in the interview how I could contribute to the work ethos. Then an HR person told me "But not too valuable! If you're perceived as too good, you're also perceived as someone who's got the potential to be the one to come up with the innovative ideas they want to be credited with and as a contender for coveted promotions". I learned to phrase my responses in a way that showed I was innovative but in a way that would make management look good. A bit of a game to play or a tightrope to walk. Just a thought. Apart from that, l hope you recover quickly and get the best job for you!
As the well-known trope goes, you may forget what people said, but you never forget how they made you feel. Those two ghosted and humiliated Kjersti right in front of in her.
And that is what “mean girl” or micro aggressive/passive aggressive behavior is meant to do. It’s meant to bring you down a peg and make you think less of yourself. I feel for men in this regard bc it hasn’t been spoken on as openly. Even the phrase “mean girl” was coined with catty women’s behavior in mind. But in reality, this is something everyone has experienced at one time or another. My husband has been through a similar experience over the years with his job and it’s really taken decades for him to have an ounce of confidence in himself. Our relationship has been comprised of me being his safety to remind him why those negatives ideas aren’t true and aren’t his own. It’s so sad. But I will tell you all here as I tell him constantly - do not play the game or shrink yourself! If they can’t appreciate you without being threatened, they don’t deserve what you have to offer. You will never be happy working with or under people so fragile and insecure. It will rob your spirit to be in their darkness. If you can’t find anywhere to shine, build your own space. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. We started our own company two years ago now and even though it’s been hard and scary, we don’t regret a thing! Know your worth, and don’t let anyone take from you❤ Hope your confidence recovers soon! You got this! You’re worth your salt and anyone who can’t see that isn’t fit to share your space!
I think that Kjersti hit the nail on the head when she said that she thought that Blake took a dislike to her for some reason and it wouldn't have mattered what questions she asked, Blake was just looking to cause trouble. I have no idea why she would have instantly disliked her though because what I've seen of Kjersti so far, she seems like a really warm and genuine person.
The last sentence you wrote - that's exactly why Blake took a dislike to Kjersti. She was (allegedly) jealous because Kjersti has a warm and genuine energy. Blake doesn't have that or is not used to that kind of person. I guess being in the Hollywood industry for too long got her to be her real self - the mean girl that she really is.
@@erinlee5936 yep. Classic narc response to someone genuine. She was threatened by it and responded to it like the dog she is by lifting her leg to ‘pee’ on Flaa, to show dominance. And Parker played the doting subservient jester to the ‘Queen’. Classic girl gang snotty behavior. A genuine person doesn’t go along with that crap, that’s why she’s threatening to BL.
I suspect someone on set before the interview mentioned to BL that she and the interviewer looked alike. BL took offense and took her irritation out on the interviewer.
She 100% did the right thing for exposing this behavior. If nothing else, celebrities will be more aware of their interactions and conduct themselves in a more appropriate manner. Nobody is “untouchable” in this world, and this interview exposed that if you behave badly, the world can/will know about it, so watch yourself.
@joeyjonesSoCal, I agree with you. Bad behavior is bad behavior, whenever it happens. It doesn't matter it was back in 2016. Think about cold case crimes. Is it OK that they remain unsolved after 30, 40, 50 years just because they happened so long ago? That's why cold case crimes get solved at all.
The only problem is Blake will learn nothing but that she needs to be more of a covert abusive narcissist vs overtly abusive. This is her personality & it will not change ... in fact legit narcissists only get worse with age. I truly hope part of her backlash is not being asked to do movies because of her destructive behavior. Ryan Reynolds deserves some consequences too, for rewriting a critical scene in _someone else's_ movie! Unforgivable if I had paid for the rights to the movie like Justin. Btw, test audiences preferred Justin's ending to Blake & Ryan's. He may even be in legal trouble for what he did. These two act like they own Hollywood. Glad they've been exposed.
I'm sorry but I've been in contact with 2 pregnant mothers in the past year and their mood swings were epic, my sis-in-law almost snapped my head off when I tried to help her and even without the excuse of a pregnancy people are allowed to have bad days. But you also have a good point, I'd rather the other person tells me that they are having a bitchy moment, rather than me thinking I have done something wrong
I agree. Sometimes society has to stand up and although I don't like a pile on to one person in this case it was behaviour that was clearly repeated over the years. Enough. And it sends a message about poor behaviour to others too.
@3:39 Kjerti: “Did you guys love wearing those kind of clothes?” Parker (looking at Kjerti with an open and extended palm): “yeah and working in digital….” Blake: (interrupting): Everyone always wants to talk about the clothes but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes.” Blake not only is nonverbally dismissing Kjerti (never looked at her) but using the words “everyone” and “they” is verbally dismissing her too. She is talking to Parker as though Kjerti is not even in the room.
This was fun! Kjersti was so sweet to come on your channel and discuss this incident in length like this; thank you to her for doing this! :) I loved hearing more from her, and I was glad to hear her real reasons for releasing this video after all these years. She seems very kind and thoughtful.
@@zdelany6963people are complicated creature. I’m sure there is some element of that and that is perfectly normal. I think there is much more to it that involves curiosity, finding closure, and meeting interesting people that eclipses the desire for, as you say, clout.
@@xzonia1 Yes, I loved these videos. Spidey and Kjersti both seem so respectful and kind. It is so appreciated when it feels like everyone is so angry lately. These episodes were a joy to watch.
Kjersti -- I did deal with bullying like this. Seeing it on tape helped me understand what I had experienced. It was my SISTER cutting me out of a conversation at the wedding reception of my SON. The party I threw and she excluded me from a conversation while I was the host! I wondered if I had misinterpreted the situation, but then I saw your video and recognized the same feelings and tactics my mean girl sister used. Thank you for bringing a light to this!
I have a sister like that. She does things like that to make herself feel better about herself. I grew up thinking it was all me. I had a very similar situation to what you describe. It made me realize that it wasn't me, it was her and had been all along. I haven't spoken to her in many years and life is so much easier and better without that negative pressure all of the time. Good luck to you. I hope you can make peace and know it's not you.
I feel for you. It sucks to have a mean sister who treats you like an enemy when you see so many others talking about how “having a sister is having a built in best friend” and stuff like that. I always wished I had a good relationship with my sister but she is just not a nice person who decided she was too good for me IG a long time ago.
I think Kjersti is right, Blake, for whatever reason, had decided she was just going to be passive-aggressive toward her. Blake doesn't strike me as the apologizing kind.
It was a toxic dynamic, a jealous bully and her little subservient enabler. Then we have the psychopath who keeps her grudge warm for eight years and waits for the exact right moment to get her revenge.
Right. I thought Blake may have just been tired of answering questions about her "baby bump" which I find a little annoying (just the language) but she was rude and should be embarrassed for how she responded.
Initially, I thought Parker Posey was being rude, but after watching the interview several times, she really comes off as trying to appease Blake Lively. First, she deflects, "What about my bumps?", she's hoping that awkwardness is over and that the interview will continue without anymore trouble,"You liked the movie, are you a Woody Allen fan?". But Blake Lively ain't having it, she redirects Posey's attention all towards herself and continues to ignore Flaa. Even going so far as to excuse her own behavior, indirectly, "they think they know you because of how intrusive the media is." but according to Blake celebrities like herself are "always so much more awesome than they are portrayed to be."
@@natsukashi1431 I can see how Posey initially was trying to keep things light but she's a grown women who could have escaped Blake's game and acted like a respectful adult herself as Blake carried on. School aged "mean girls" are probably often very sweet when not following the lead mean girl. It's that follow-the-mean-leader group mentality that's gross. Blake may not have been so brazen if she wasn't sitting there with her dog and girlfriend.
20:45 when Kjersti said that "She already decided that she didn't like me", I can feel the hurt in Kjersti voice, it almost made me cry. How awful Blake and Parker can be.
Blake has a manipulation tactic where she will pull in the other person so that she has more control & authority over the main person she’s trying to disregard. She did the same thing in the Anna Kendrick interview. I’d take a pretty good guess that both Parker & Anna don’t want much to do with Blake now.
“Congrats on your little bump” is very demeaning to anyone… best approach eould have been to say Congratulations on her new baby - which is the normal approach!
@@csantana1971 it certainly is not a very nice way to refer to someone's pregnancy. referring to the baby as a bump just makes the pregnancy seem like something less happy and joyful than it is. its something i would say to a friend in jest, because the humour in my circle of friends is making fun of each other as much as possible, whenever possible. and me being on the autism spectrum makes me very bad in social situations, but its not something even i would say to anyone but my friends who know me and share my sense of humour.
@@csantana1971 No! Never ever ever ever say "congratulations to your new baby" to someone who hasn't given birth yet. I would fly off the wall, that is just isn't done. Saying "bump" or "little bump" however is a very common, normal, nice and friendly way of saying congratulations. Used all the time. I'm shocked about your comments! Where are you from? This must be a cultural thing.
@@RanRayuIs this a cultural thing? I'm shocked about your comment. It's used all the time and it's so much nicer and warmer way of saying congratulations and it's used all the time. Even in front side of the news paper when a celebrity is pregnant. Hearing that people are offended by this is the biggest cultural shock I think I've ever had. I'm stunned.
With respect I don’t find the term bump demeaning. Talking about ‘lady lumps’ & showing your bum I do. Also personally I never refer to a baby until it’s born, I think that’s why most people I know use the word bump, it feels unlucky to say baby.
narcissists red flag is they will treat the "smaller guy" in a much ruder way, so she was offended by this interviewer but not but others, more "important" ones.
I'm sorry, I really hate to be that person but this is actually the opposite of what is normally the case for a narcissist. Narcissists will target those they perceive as "bigger" fish. You're thinking of sociopaths, who will target children, elderly, animals or peers that are easy targets. Narcissists want to flex on people they perceive as a challenge to their power/standing or someone they believe they can use to boost themselves in some way. Not saying it doesn't happen sometimes but that's not actually typical of them. Just had to say this because there's so much armchair psychology going on in the social media age and most of it is total hogwash that is really damaging to awareness on the issues.
@@DeadSezSo Narcissists want to surround themselves with "bigger fish" because it makes them feel/look good. Narcissists are all about power - if you have it and they want it, you're in their good books. If you don't have power, you are then the target for all of their projections about how nasty they feel about themselves...which makes them feel power over their bad feelings. That's what happened here.
@@DeadSezSo narcs target different people in different ways actually as they persieve any weakness as a way to bully or put people down. The "bigger" as they see it, they can actually be extremely nice, flirty or manipulative towards, not mean if they eant to gain something from that. For example narc mothers split her kids by bullying one and idolising the other and shift. Or for example in a workplace they favour one employer and bully the other. Also Blake was clearly offended by the comment about the bump and only she knows why and then she couldn't let it go.
Agent: So you really should apologize to that journalist. Blake: But my husband is Ryan Reynolds, my best friend is Taylor Swift. A journalist is just a ... peasant.
It took Ryan and her 8 years before they apologized for their plantation wedding. After years of being shamed for it. Celebrities don’t apologize unless it hits their bank. Especially ones born from nepotism like Blake.
She's always given me mean girl vibes since sisterhood. I dont know if it was clear, but my sense of people is crazy. 2024 has been the validation I needed to trust myself more. All these people I side-eyed and thought I was kind of a hater. Nope, just have a good sense of people, actors, or not that shit shows. That's why her and Ryan work. I like him, but for real, he's a lovable asshole. They're assholes together, but Ryan is honest, and people like him for it, me included. I would like her more as an open mean girl.
Spidey, you helped Kjersti today and gave her some heart healing. We all act strong when something like this happens, but it really hurts. Thank you both for showing love and honesty. It’s too late for Blake. Anything that comes out now would be self serving. People need to be held accountable for their actions - even 8 years later.
If you act strong when this happens, you become that strong. Just like if you lift something that feels heavy to you, you become strong enough to lift that much easily. But it isn’t easy, and building emotional strength is even harder than muscle building. Also more rewarding. Our world needs strength against this kind of pettiness. We can’t let them win.
@@animula6908 I agree. We can’t let this type of behaviour live in the shadows. It’s on film, both interviews. The one that Kjersti did two years later ended up the same way.
Great interview, really enjoyed it. Kjersti uploaded another interview on her channel but this time it was Kjersti’s boyfriend who interviewed Blake. Again it revealed some pretty bad behaviour by Blake, she basically forced him to drink gin from Ryan Reynold’s alcohol range (he could’ve been a recovering alcoholic for all she knew). It shows a lack of boundary recognition and a sense of entitlement, to make matters worse she wasn’t even drinking it herself. She also went into this weird monologue about gin which lasted long enough that there was no time for him to ask a question about the movie she was meant to be promoting. Remember she did the same thing in Kjersti’s interview, went into a monologue ignoring Kjersti and talking to Parker, they then had to end the interview because there was no time. I think this is a tactic she uses when she doesn’t like the interviewer for whatever reason and doesn’t want to answer questions.
It seems like narcissistic behavior to me. She has no need for any of the small magazine interviews, so she makes them her puppets that she can command around.
@@midwesternmoviereviewerI don’t believe she was pregnant during this particular interview they are talking about with the alcohol. She simply doesn’t drink because “she doesn’t like it”
His interview, which was for Swedish media, was also renderer useless because she kept the gin in the frame and it’s illegal to advertise for alcohol in Sweden.
I'm really disappointed that Blake went to this extreme rude behaviour seeing as she was answering similar questions and making remarks on a similar topic in a better manner on a different interview the same day. I do get a feeling she just disliked the interviewer. I didn't have any bias either way towards here. But this clarification has made my opinion drop on Blake and even posey for following her lead and allowing herself to be drawn into the rudeness
Based on what you said, i think it’s much more likely that because she had answered similar kind of question the whole day, she was fed up with it and it showed. What it comes to Kjerstin, it is normal for humans to interpret everything in self-centric way, so when someone is rude to you, you think it must be because of you, not because of something the other one is going through. We are also biased to believe victim-stories so here we are, people denigrating a woman who had a bad day and peculiar sense of humour
If you are fed up with a question, why not say that? Not play with people who have no clue and get hurt. It is childish to be passive agressive like that and as a famous person who has agreed to be interviewed it is inappropriate to react that way.
@@FemaleDove Inappropriate yes, but @susank2586 said it was extreme rude behaviour, which is quite a stretch. You’ve never been inappropriate when fed up and hormonal (or something extra going on in your body)? Yes yes, Blake is a star with huge paycheck but she’s still a human not a machine
Thank you for covering this „quiet cruelty“ as i like to call it. Last semester i was in a course where i had to make a big project with 3 colleagues from uni. In our very first meet up, one of them totally shut me out and shot down all my suggestions and the other two followed their lead without a single word being spoken. Even the body language and eye contact totally excluded me, they would lean across the table to not look straight at me when speaking. I felt like utter shit. Unwelcome, unvalued and honestly humiliated. As far as i know, i had had no problem with the instigator prior to this, and i simply could not explain why i was treated that way. It made me question my intelligence and if i had anything of value to say at all.. This video of kjersti and you calling this behavior out, really helped me find some closure. I wasn’t making it up, i wasn’t imaginIng Things, and i did not deserve to be treated like that.
My son is autistic and I always explained to people that it was like tapping him on his shoulder and his not being able to discern if it was a friendly touch or a mean touch so he's always in this kind of self protective mode. I suffered a brain injury in a car accident over 7 years ago and it took me until now to relearn how to understand subtleties and innuendo again. It's a disconnect you can't control, but try to make sense of unsuccessfully and it doesn't feel good ❤
I found out recently ( I am in my 40ties) thst I might be autistic. Waiting to be assigned by NHS team. I know how it feels...to be constantly made inferior during conversation.
I just saw the interview. No doubt they were awful, but then again who stars in a Woody Allen film these days, knowing what he did to his daughter, his wife and his adopted child?
This. I was a big-time Woody fan when I was young ('70s-'80s kid here). However, once he had an open intimate relationship with his stepdaughter Soon-Yi after she turned 18, I couldn't watch his movies anymore and recorded over my VHS tapes of his films ("Annie Hall," "Sleeper," and "Love and Death.")
Woody Allen is just as awful as Roman Polanski if you guys don’t know who that is go ahead and google it. Woody Allen was in charge of caring for that girl as a daughter, to flip that and make her his wife is disgusting
yeah I was a bit surprised about t that. but most celebrities just can't help themselves. if there's a chance to link to someone famous they just automatically take it.
Parker leaning over and interacting with the dog looked like she was creating an intimate space with Blake--like two middle school girls purposely edging a third girl out.
Side note: I would 💯ask the men about their costumes in a period piece. It’s one of the best part of movies or TV shows. I can’t believe how very rude Blake was it was surprising. Parker started to say something but fed into being “offended”instead if be genuine in her response. NONE of that behavior was necessary. Hopefully, Blake and Parker learned something. Great discussion.
Of course. She's not asking an actress on a red carpet about her clothes but in a period piece. Think how much the costume department spent. It was a ridiculous moment, where she was trying to make herself a feminist.
This is one of the most annoying narratives out there. When women are like "they never ask the men about the clothes" because they ALWAYS ask the men. Even on the red carpet. The people get their clothes for free so when the interviewer asks who made it the designer gets publicity. People pulling that card always turn me off.
Blake quoted Scarlett Johnson’s movie quote verbatim about a different subject matter. For Scarlett’s interview it was totally appropriate @ the time. For Blake it was totally inappropriate especially considering their history. She had an extra nastiness using that statement.
If you look at Brett cooper's commentary on this, she mentions that at the time of this interview, Scarlett Johansson had just pushed back on an interviewer for commenting on her panty lines in a tight costume. She was rightfully offended and publicly spoke about how it's insulting for men interviewers to consistently point out costumes for women actors and less so for male actors. Aparently Scarlett actually pushed back to the interviewers face and got all these girl boss points. Considering Scarlett was also Ryan Reynolds ex, it's possible that Blake was trying to have her girl boss moment pushing back about costume questions and it backfired... mostly because it was clearly insincere. Something to note about possible context.
That makes so much more sense. Then she's replaying it later in her mind and she's like "yeah, that wasn't the vibe." And changes her strategy for the next interview. But it's too humiliating to do anything about it at that point. I could believe that. Everybody saying Blake is insecure in the presence of another beautiful woman, but she's in that world ALL the time on sets and at galas and events.
AGREED! Two weeks ago when I saw it, I thought that she had seen something that she liked so she attempted it however, she’s not skilled, it isn’t her passion nor what she’s studied (or even care about) it looked just like a terrible grab at virtue signaling. She lacked grace on every point.
@@merrygrammarian1591 agree, it makes no sense for her to be insecure at all, she's surrounded by that all the time, and she's one of them... why on earth would she be insecure? If she is she's in the wrong business (she's not).
I totally enjoyed this. I do feel like this IS a community. Spidey has broadened my understanding and appreciation by sharing Kjersti’s interview videos. It’s added clarity to many of our own experiences. I am so glad to be a part of and welcome Kjersti to our community and join her own. Life is good.
Seems like the only explanation is she thought she found an opportunity to bully someone and be an a*hole and couldn't resist...says a lot about a person..
@zdelany6963 Kjersti is Norwegian, I believe. There are cultural differences. Here in Norway, it would almost be rude if an interviewer did not acknowledge and congratulate on a very visible pregnancy.
Whether or not Blake was offended by it, she should have stayed professional and polite. I feel she snapped at the journalist and went “personal” on her with her response which is mean.
Yeah. Might've had. It's almost like famous people who became famous young has PTSD and has been harrassed by media and crowds all their life👀 @dee8714
Great follow up interview! Didn’t know Blake’s mean girl behavior would be the gift that keeps giving! 😅 Good on you, Kjersti! You have so much grace and kindness. Thank you for sharing your experience feeling bullied- that’s the real thing to take away from this…we should be kinder. As Spidey would say, we should be curious 🤨 Finally, the real behavior I’m disappointed in is the treatment of domestic violence survivors 👀 P.S. The dog being there the whole time was wild 😝
Kjersti is such a beautiful human inside and out. I’ve really enjoyed this Spidey and Kjersti. Blake didn’t have any plans of treating Kjersti kindly for some reason, and that’s so sad. I think you gave Kjersti some sort of closure, for lack of a better term. Good on you Spidey. I love your energy, honesty and kindness. ❤
I'm so glad to see her response. It was so uncomfortable seing Blake Lively act this way. She wasnt only giving mean girl vibes, but damn if she didn't seem to look similar to Amber Heard! It's SAD.
I don't think the other lady in the interview was actually being rude. I think she was uncomfortable with how Blake reacted to the little bump comment and tried to make light of it by sticker her butt in the air like that. I also think at the end when she rolled her eyes, it was at BLAKE’S behavior, not because of anything the interviewer did. That's how I read the situation anyway.
no woman is require to respond t a comment about her body with a thank you this interview should never have said anything about something that did not concern her
@@zdelany6963 it’s a publicity tour. It’s completely appropriate. In fact, not bothering to acknowledge it could’ve even been interpreted as rude. You may be referring to a normal conversation between people at work, not for publicity and not being televised. Those are different circumstances.
I know it seems like such a basic answer, but I really can only think she didn’t like you because you’re pretty. She didn’t have a chance to know you. She was rude immediately, and there’s nothing offensive about you. So while I’d like to find another reason that makes Blake seem less petty, I can’t find one. Some girls are just like that.
I actually had the same thought/question watching this video.. esp after they showed how BL was with the male interviewer.. like goodness forbid it was a polite, professional, attractive, put together female.. hit some nerves, did it, Blake?? 😆
@@zipinha I don't think it's envy.. more like a petty, "I'm still better than you", mean girl type energy that seems to be evoked by other women. Just my vibe from it.
@@jro9510 I agree although I would phrase it "I'm more powerful than you". Kjersti has this beautiful long hair, I suspect she is a tall woman too. In contrast to Blake Kjersti has an aura off dignity, intelligence, warmth and professionalism. So Blake felt threatened and needed to attack immediately. Also I personally don't think it's caused by "hormones" - but maybe I just never encountered a person that turned vile and aggressive because of a pregnancy (rather self-assured, strong and brave).
so a objectively beautiful world renowned actress is jealous of a interviewer who is average looking at best? Come on. Lively was wrong here but this is a moronic take. And "pretty"?? She's a nice interviewer but hardly a looker
Such a great point made by Kjersti makes about having a wider discussion about this type if behaviour rather than just Blake bashing.. .because it isn't just the famous that do this....toxic bullying behaviour in work places still alive and well unfortunately, so shining the light on it is important
This is petty, but i think part of Blake's rudeness to Kjersti stems from her own insecurities. Kjersti in my opinion is a natural beauty and Blake has loads of money, cinema lighting and professional makeup artist to help her look beautiful and she still ends up looking like your every day walmart shopper (plain jane) it may sound petty and superficial but hey, its Blake we're talking about here🤷♀️
21:28 Spidey debunking the pregnancy sensitivity & the costume aversion. Brings me back to my original assumption. Pregnant Blake was feeling insecure and a beautiful tall thin blonde walked in the room. They are in the same demographic and Blake felt threatened and immediately went on the attack on Kjersti. I've been pregnant and insecure about my body and in a situation where other women were showing off their bodies, it made me want to attack them all, but I didn't. Pregnancy hormones are a real thing and very weird.
Yeah, I second this. The impression I got was that something about Kjersti threw Blake off--nothing Kjersti had any conscious control over, mind you. And Blake felt insecure. It could be just that Kjersti seems really down-to-earth and genuinely approachable and likeable. Some people find that threatening when they see it, I think.
Blake could come out and speak what it is like 👍 to be pregnant, hormonal and not wanting to be pregnant. A pregnant woman is the most vulnerable in society. She must lean on someone at some point, opposite an independent, self sufficient woman. It’s a beautiful 😻 part of life ❤
She should have stayed single and celibate if she didn't want to get pregnant. If it really interfered with her perfect body and her life, then wouldn't it make more sense to, IDK, not get pregnant? If she didn't want to, she shouldn't have gotten knocked up. It was her choice to do it. No need to take her anger out on others for regretting the choice she made.
As a mum, I had absolutely no problem with people commenting on my bump once it was obvious it wasn’t just a big lunch. You did absolutely nothing wrong Kjersti. Blake Lively knew she had more power in that interaction & abused it. Kjersti was just trying to do her job. Lastly, clothes/costumes are hugely important in drama, asking about them was also normal. It’s a visual medium - costumes, sets, lighting etc all part of it. The dog does explain Parker Posey’s body language somewhat, but she still could have set an example & professionally answered the questions.
@@flangekiwiwhy? When I was pregnant years ago people would say it to me and that’s cute and lovely, never in my life have a heard anyone being offended!! Normal to say it here in England! I use to say awwww thank you 💕
I have nothing to add on the body analysis side of things, but a couple comments: 1. In my experience, women get more offended when someone assumes the fact that they’re pregnant means they have a right to touch them/reach out to touch “the bump” without asking. Mentioning the body is only an issue if they’re called “fat” or if they’re not pregnant at all 2. A part of me WAS hoping that Kjersti was going to say that Blake had reached out to her privately to apologize, because that is just so much more genuine to me 3. What I think the people defending Blake Lively need to consider is that UNDERSTANDING her behavior is different than EXCUSING it. That’s why I love your videos. You analyze the behavior & then suggest reasons on both sides of the coin
@@valerielevasseur8674 it’s something I used to argue with my mom about. Whenever she would say “I don’t want to hear your excuses” I would respond with something like “I’m just trying to explain myself.” To Spidey’s point, I think the main difference is INTENT. If you’re providing your reasons (or coming up with possibilities/theories like in this situation) to JUSTIFY the behavior, then that’s where I have to draw the line. I can empathize with having a bad day or hormones screwing with her emotions, but that will never make me watch the interview and go “Yeah, this behavior is acceptable then”
@jillianmary I study extreme political violence for a living, and do want to understand its origins in order to predict and prevent. It's therefore a distinction that's nearly sacred to me. Knowing why, or pieces of why, doesn't mean they shouldn't be on trial at The Hague. So I was really glad to see it here. Others are not necessarily grasping that.
@@alexiswaddell3706 Exactly. It's clear, she was nasty where the rest of us would have moved on if for whatever reason it triggered us. Those who don't move on are bullies and Blake showed her juvenile bratty meangirl side.
I found that comment about the clothes weird, but something came immediately to my mind that I haven’t see anybody else relating it. Since Scarlett Johansson started in Avengers, she has been famous for majestic comebacks to interviewers that treat her like a side character and while they ask interesting questions to the male actors, they ask her about diet, how she gets in the Avengers body, or fashion or like she is behind the men. In Scarlett’s case makes sense, because is very evident and constant, so people admire her for being bold like that. In this case makes no sense, because they were talking specifically about the setting of this movie and the customs are part of it, but, maybe she wants to be as bold and praised as ex miss Reynolds.
It might be part of it, but even that, Scarlett is never rude or mean when she puts up with those questions in interviews. And that's a big difference.
I agree. One of the male interviewers asked Scarlett if she wore underwear in a movie. Disgusting. While her male costars received serious qs. She had every right to snap back. And she did it so well. Absolutely not comparable to this Blake situation.
I agree about bullying - I was a bully when I was very young and the school principal called me out on my behaviour - it was one of the most memorable things that happenned to me: it made me think, it made me apologise, it made me kinder. I do believe this behaviour needs to be addressed; it certainly made me a better person.
I agree. I think the whole "what about my bump!" was an attempt to diffuse the situation with humour - she'd be pretty cluey about Blake after working with her, I imagine - and she did try to give a thoughtful answer to the costume question before Blake hijacked the response. The problem with trying to people please a mean girl can be that you also end up looking like a bit of a bitch.
I stick by my original assessment - I believe Blake was jealous of Kjersti (she's insecure) and she did not like being pregnant. Kjersti is better looking, naturally, so Blake decided to try and knock her down
That's an interesting assessment. My initial reaction was maybe this interviewer is transgender and Blake's behavior is due to prejudice against transgender people. Seeing Kjersti since then, I wouldn't guess that; she only looks like a pretty woman. But I guess my brain was trying to fill in the gaps to understand why Blake seemed so predisposed to reject the interviewer.
I feel like Blake was waiting to pounce on someone asking these kinds of questions. It was the era of Scarlett Johansson snapping back on inappropriate questions, such as her choice of panties under a costume. It feels like Blake was waiting for a moment like this, and hoped people would find it and give her kudos. It simply didn’t fit the bill, and makes her look like a ‘mean girl’. She clearly doesn’t have any respect for Kjersti, and didn’t care if it made her look bad. Whoops! I’d say it backfired on her.
4:52 I don’t care how she was feeling she shouldn’t have been so disrespectful, she’s meant to be a so called “professional!” So doesn’t matter if she’s had a hard morning with her kids getting ready (but we all know she’s got help for that) or an argument with her husband we don’t take it out on other people especially in this situation she was blatantly rude and disrespectful.
I really wish Paker could have finished her thought about "working in digital" because one: it would have been interesting to hear how she brings it back to the question of visuals and clothes, and two: it was kind of rude that Blake just talked over her.
Parker has a an unfortunate record of behaving obnoxious and it’s becoming worse as she ages. I remember a few actors recounting how disappointed they were after working with Parker Posey.
"Feeling a certain way" or "Not wanting to talk about things" is no excuse to treat someone who is helping you to promote a film that way. She could have declined the interview.
Calm down. I never said Blake was right to react that way. No need to attack me to justify K’s feelings. “Bump” makes sense, sure, but it’s not that common to use when congratulating someone on a pregnancy. You can tell K was nervous bringing it up and then chose the word “bump” like it was supposed to still be a secret.
I am undecided about how I feel about this video. It seems less unbiased than usual and her saying she forgave her a long time ago, but still putting this video out while acknowledging Blake Lively is having a hard time is weird. I don't need a celebrity interview to know that bullying is happening everywhere. The explanation is off.
Ditto. She also said here that "Blake should apologize to the other DV victims, she owes them an apology, for sure" (time stamp 27:03). I must have missed a lot of context there, how do you get there from this mean girls interview from 8 years ago??
Blake Lively does give off mean girl vibes - it doesn’t mean she is a terrible person, just a bit tactless, over confident and tone-deaf. A truly confident person wouldn’t feel the need to belittle others. i’m
Her publicity tour interviews for this DV film(?) have also just been a little off. She seems determined not to take the DV subject seriously, instead weirdly cross-promoting her side-hustles of clothes and alcohol? A little bit of a diva for sure (have heard this about her for years - since the ill-fated ‘Conserve’ days.
I don’t think owes an apology to others who have been abused. She did not abuse them. We have to stop expecting people to apologize for things that they did not do. Blake’s actions reflect on Blake’s behavior. But she should not be made to be the poster child for bullying at large.
Kjersti was absolutely right to show this video of Blake and allow us all to make judgements of celebrities behaviour. Her job is to interview to help promote a movie. Blake had no right to disrespect her the way she did for no reason. It isn’t hard to be nice to people and answer questions without sarcasm and derision. They both showed utter disrespect to Kjersti and she didn’t deserve any of it.
8:00 wait a second, the implication here is that if she had been impolite, that would have justified blake's abuse. No, it wouldn't have, Blake is responsible for her own behavior and i don't discuss pretexts. Never ever.
I hear you on not tolerating that kind of behavior, and I agree, but I think it's a very different thing to acknowledge that if someone is impolite it's /logically understandable/ why someone may react negatively, rather than to say that a mean girl attitude like Blake gave would have been justified. And here I don't believe that it was at all implied that it would be justifiable to respond that way. Either way at least we do know that was never the intention of the interview and I hate that this happened to her. 🫤
Blake decided she didn’t like Kjersti because Kjersti is prettier than her and natural. That’s my hot take. Edited for spelling and still not sure I got it right
I'm so happy you guys ended up doing this collab! The extra videos definitely shed a LOT of light on Blake's true intentions. And like we've been saying this whole time, it's alllllll about intent...... Now off to watch the video collab on Kjersti's channel 🤙🏻 this is her intro into body language analysis and she's gonna become obsessed like us 😂 I think it was one of TBP, possibly Scott, who said that studying body language makes it so much harder to lie and it's SO TRUE. 😂 I also feel like everyone I talk to on the street can read me but I have to remind myself most people don't pay much attention. 😂
Yeah i find it harder too. I also find it harder to tell the truth without looking sus hahahah. Coz like someone will ask something and I’ll answer and think “that was a little long winded and I hesitated a lot” so then I get stressed and try to explain my answer which only makes it worse lolol disaster
There's an elephant in the room here. Ryan's ex Scarlet Johansen actually DID experience an inappropriate interview question from a journalist relating to her spandex red suit in a role. Is there any way that kjersti somehow is connected to Scarlett? It feels like Blake was trying to play copycat with Scarlet so insert relevance and victimhood. It reminds me of someone trying to mimic that indignation
what a wonderful collab! watching you both interact and have this conversation was so much fun, I hope there's more of it in the future. for now, I'm going straight to watch the other part of this interview!
As a body language analyst, you sure know how to make the thumbnails of your videos. Your eyebrows up in surprise, your posture. Makes you click. Good job 😂❤
The only thing I know is that something happened out of sight that makes the behaviour make sense, because there is nothing visible that explains it. I wish people would refrain from calling Blake a "mean girl" as if she is a 2 dimensional character. Nobody is "just" anything, everybody does thing for reasons.
I think it's time that the interviewer has the courage to walk away from these toxic narcissistic people. Leave them sitting with themselves to think about how their behaving.
I feel like Kjersti has possibly been really sad about this interview for a long time. Like you can still see pain in her face even talking about it, and coming to terms with it, even with the support, she’s embarrassed a little I think.
The answer to the costume question reeks of intentionally sabatoging a question in the "strong independent actress sound bite compilation" material lol.
Checkout the other half of this interview and watch me READ KJERSTI'S MIND!! 😮

I requested more collaborations in the comment section of that video. You two are good together! I think some future collabs could be really interesting.
Thank you for such a great collaboration. What a treat!!
Know your worth, and don’t let anyone take from you❤
Hope your confidence recovers soon!

I think you have it with 'warm and genuine'
She's a reporter. Doing a job: poorly.
Very poorly.
I suspect someone on set before the interview mentioned to BL that she and the interviewer looked alike. BL took offense and took her irritation out on the interviewer.
I feel like your conversation brought Kjersti some closure. That is so beautiful ❤
That’s such a lovely thought! I hope you’re right 😊

Thank you so much. And yes, I think it did too.
@mewho6199 Well, she was put down on her workplace and could not say anything. Confidence gets hurt.
Yes, he helped to bring her full circle & gave her a more concrete understanding of all that took place. So glad they got together on this.
I completely agree.
@3:39
Kjerti: “Did you guys love wearing those kind of clothes?”
Parker (looking at Kjerti with an open and extended palm): “yeah and working in digital….”
Blake: (interrupting): Everyone always wants to talk about the clothes but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes.”
Blake not only is nonverbally dismissing Kjerti (never looked at her) but using the words “everyone” and “they” is verbally dismissing her too. She is talking to Parker as though Kjerti is not even in the room.
It was honestly gross to watch.
Absolutely mean and disgusting behaviour.
Not to mention cutting off Parker while she was answering the question for herself.
This was so awful to watch.
Blake don't even look at Kjerti while talking. It was pretty awkward to watch.
This was fun! Kjersti was so sweet to come on your channel and discuss this incident in length like this; thank you to her for doing this! :) I loved hearing more from her, and I was glad to hear her real reasons for releasing this video after all these years. She seems very kind and thoughtful.
pretty sure the "real " reason was clout

Kjersti -- I did deal with bullying like this. Seeing it on tape helped me understand what I had experienced. It was my SISTER cutting me out of a conversation at the wedding reception of my SON. Completely agree.
The way the other one looked at Blake when she said what about my bump was so chilling 😢
So glad Kjersti came forward with the interview. The culture of entitled Celebrities need to be exposed.

Nailed it. My thoughts exactly. She knows who she can direct her rudeness.
This!

It would've been weird for her to drink alcohol while pregnant, but I agree, she's rude.
@@ginat.8064😮 oh no!
@@uggsarit was definitely extremely rude behaviour. She’s an adult. She’s pregnant. Get the f over it, Blake.
Kjersti appears to be vindicated and relieved. I commend her. ❤
I admire Spidey and his remarkable ability to interpret body language.
This hurts my heart. Im so sad you were treated like this, it's really hard to shrug off and give it the attention it deserves - none.

As an autistic person, I experience this type of interactions all my life.
It's a disconnect you can't control, but try to make sense of unsuccessfully and it doesn't feel good ❤
Same. I've always been told I'm the problem, there's something "wrong" with me, I need to change.
Sending you love... i know what you mean. There are some people who won't treat you like that, I hope they meet you.

I know how it feels...to be constantly made inferior during conversation.
@kp4911 don't believe it. Replace their words with words of love and encouragement for yourself. Everyone has something
The way they turned together like that seemed like mean gurls trying to make someone else feel small.
Blake was intentional with her words, trying to teach that the interviewer was being rude, not noticing she was the rude and bully….
The interview that happened 4 years before Weinstein went to jail?
@@assaqwwq, allegations against Woody Allen surfaced over 30 years ago.
Omg, I thought PP as petting a blanket. Thought PP was high…
How Blake kept talking over Parker was rude as well!
Definitely.
THIS 🙌
Glad you mentioned this, I thought about that too
That makes so much more sense.

Good on you, Kjersti! You have so much grace and kindness. Thank you for sharing your experience feeling bullied- that’s the real thing to take away from this…we should be kinder.
As Spidey would say, we should be curious 🤨
Finally, the real behavior I’m disappointed in is the treatment of domestic violence survivors 👀
P.S. The dog being there the whole time was wild 😝
Kjersti is such a beautiful human inside and out. I’ve really enjoyed this Spidey and Kjersti. Blake didn’t have any plans of treating Kjersti kindly for some reason, and that’s so sad. I'm so glad to see her response. It was so uncomfortable seing Blake Lively act this way. She wasnt only giving mean girl vibes, but damn if she didn't seem to look similar to Amber Heard! It's SAD.
Good catch! The attitude def seems very similar.
Blake has that same vibe as Amber Heard. I’ve been saying that for a while now.
I’ve seen the similarities in energy between Blake and Amber as well
The fact that the pillow was actually a little dog is killing me 😂

I don't think the other lady in the interview was actually being rude. I think she was uncomfortable with how Blake reacted to the little bump comment and tried to make light of it by sticker her butt in the air like that. I also think at the end when she rolled her eyes, it was at BLAKE’S behavior, not because of anything the interviewer did. That's how I read the situation anyway.
Thank you. My thoughts exactly. She was just trying to deescalate before it got more awkward and possibly confrontational.

I didn't like the attitude of Blake Lively, but envy of an interviewer doesn't make sense

Yes indeed!!

I think understanding pregnant women is even beyond Spidey!😂
Yeah, I second this. The impression I got was that something about Kjersti threw Blake off--nothing Kjersti had any conscious control over, mind you. And Blake felt insecure. It could be just that Kjersti seems really down-to-earth and genuinely approachable and likeable. Some people find that threatening when they see it, I think.
Blake could come out and speak what it is like 👍 to be pregnant, hormonal and not wanting to be pregnant.
A pregnant woman is the most vulnerable in society. She must lean on someone at some point, opposite an independent, self sufficient woman. It’s a beautiful 😻 part of life ❤
Nope hormones aren't the excuse to be mean. You feel impatience and upset, but it's the individual choice to act upon it. Too many excuses
Spidey I love your empathy and strong set of ethics. You are the
best in your industry and always spot on!
thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! I'm so glad you're enjoying the channel :)
As a mum, I do have a problem with it.
See how this works?

I'm still overjoyed that two of my favorite UA-camrs are collabing almost every day now! Yay!
I have nothing to add on the body analysis side of things, but a couple comments:
1. In my experience, women get more offended when someone assumes the fact that they’re pregnant means they have a right to touch them/reach out to touch “the bump” without asking. Mentioning the body is only an issue if they’re called “fat” or if they’re not pregnant at all
2. A part of me WAS hoping that Kjersti was going to say that Blake had reached out to her privately to apologize, because that is just so much more genuine to me
3. What I think the people defending Blake Lively need to consider is that UNDERSTANDING her behavior is different than EXCUSING it. That’s why I love your videos. You analyze the behavior & then suggest reasons on both sides of the coin
@@jillianmary #3 is so often the first nuance to get lost. Thanks for articulating it.

Same here! I’m so excited to see Spidey opinion about this drama! Have a lovely day/night everyone!
This is a great point... It definitely makes sense in the context of the time..
Also, add hormone imbalance and physical harshness that have imply been 8 months pregnant. That definitely hit mood swings hard
Every person knows you never comment on a woman's pregnancy unless they tell you they're pregnant.
I agree about bullying - I was a bully when I was very young and the school principal called me out on my behaviour - it was one of the most memorable things that happenned to me: it made me think, it made me apologise, it made me kinder. I do believe this behaviour needs to be addressed; it certainly made me a better person.
Spidey!! You're so honest, humble and overall genuine! Great video and always so impressed with you as a professional.
Honestly I just got the feeling like Parker is a people pleaser and wanted to be nice to the interviewer without stepping on Blake's toes.😅
I just realized that Parker started to answer the question about the clothes no problem lol then she got pulled in
Yeah. Which IMO makes her as bad as Blake. I hope the reprocussions from this last a long time. Mean ? No meaner than Blake and Parker.

@@annemarson4144 I agree, it seems weird to me now, too. I suspect I saw that interview right after going down a rabbit hole related to JK Rowling.
Looking forward to seeing what else you have to tell us about the Blake Lively interview!
Fantastic……keep the collabs going. You are both such warm and genuine professionals. Lovely 🥰
I’ve always thought ‘the people who dislike me is none of my business’ it’s their problem and the quicker you move on from it the better you’ll be .
Kjersti is incredibly sweet. Glad this came out. These negative behaviors from Blake need to be seen and hopefully people like Blake will think twice.

I’m so glad the two of you connected. I really enjoyed the conversation and additional info and insights as to what happened😊
Great interview of course! Happy to find out that was a dog, not that Parker Posey wasn't flaking out patting a pillow or throw.😂
LOVED this. Two down to earth individuals who really appreciate connecting with others and value interactions and relationships. Shoutout to you both
"Feeling a certain way" or "Not wanting to talk about things" is no excuse to treat someone who is helping you to promote a film that way. She could have declined the interview.
I think Blake felt threatened and jealous of Kjersti’s poise and beauty.

Kjersti comes off as a very kind, gracious, generous person. Thanks for this interview, Spidey.
Blake wasn't fair. After 8 years it's time to drop it. Move on.
This collaboration is awesome…one of the coolest things about UA-cam.
The pillow was a dog 🤣
I watched this conversation with such focus like my life depended on it. I found it very warm and calming.
Blake decided she didn’t like Kjersti because Kjersti is prettier than her and natural. That’s my hot take.
Edited for spelling and still not sure I got it right

There's an elephant in the room here. Ryan's ex Scarlet Johansen actually DID experience an inappropriate interview question from a journalist relating to her spandex red suit in a role. Is there any way that kjersti somehow is connected to Scarlett? It feels like Blake was trying to play copycat with Scarlet so insert relevance and victimhood. what a wonderful collab! watching you both interact and have this conversation was so much fun, I hope there's more of it in the future. for now, I'm going straight to watch the other part of this interview!
I got the same vibe as Kjersti, that Blake had some preexisting issue with her totally unrelated to the line of questioning. Who knows why 🤷♀️
I think it's time that the interviewer has the courage to walk away from these toxic narcissistic people. Leave them sitting with themselves to think about how their behaving.
Blake Lively has banged on about not working with a stylist for ages. OF COURSE she would want to talk about the fasshhion
Even if it was rude to mention someone's baby belly, Blake should have responded graciously, not shoot an insult at the interviewer.
My first time being this early 😅 Had to comment even before watching. 🙌🏼💜
