As a music reviewer myself, I don’t listen to every album more than once but it’s not my job to do that. It’s the artists (and teams) job to compel me to do that (hence Domo’s example of Poundtown, 100% agree with him on that. And like what Sage said, you can easily listen to an album, pick your favorite 3-5 songs and playlist them somewhere and see if they create a chain reaction to compel you to relisten to the entire album again.

I went back and listened to The Resistance on Thank Me Later after like 8 years of not hearing that album and I was blown away at how authentic and relatable he sounds on that record compared to his new music. The IG captions would come naturally before because of how deep and emotional the tracks were. Now it seems like he reaches for people to caption his bars and in doing so it fucks with the integrity of the music.
