Curious to all of the different people who do any type of art. I work with mostly polymer clay miniatures but when you work on something, do you have something preplanned in your head? And do you take that vision and complete your project exactly how you had planned it/or pretty close? Or do you do like I do and you start playing around and then it leads you to one place and then you start looking at a little bit more and just warps into something?? I am not terribly creative when it comes to coming up with my own ideas. I watch so many videos you can’t even imagine. And that’s where I get my inspiration and sometimes I do replicate somebody’s work. But most of the time it is a lot like theirs, but not 100%. But I started working on a piece, it is building into something that I think is going to be really really neat. And I’m still relatively new so I am super excited about how I think this is going to come out. The other day I was working and I was talking to my daughter and I have ADHD so my mind is constantly going. So in our conversation, we started talking about something but in my mind I was also thinking of other things. And in my mind I started, creating something else that will be Easter related. I told my daughter that I wish I could just rush home and start creating it. And then I mentioned how my whole life I have wanted to find something that I would stick to and really thoroughly enjoy, and I think I finally found it! I’m 50 but I think if I would’ve tried to do something like this in my 20s or my 30s, I would not have had the time or the patience that I do now!!!!! but I think if I would’ve tried to do something like this in my 20s or my 30s, I would not have had the time or the patients that I do now!!! That is one beautiful thing about getting older. How much we change and grow. I have become a significantly more chill person. I know some people were probably thinking why are you telling us all this? But I have bipolar and until 2008 I did not read it so my emotions were all over the place for many many years. I wish I would’ve known how much better I was going to feel, if I would’ve started treating it sooner. But for people who know about bipolar or have it probably don’t realize how incredibly productive and amazing the high feelings are. But then when you have your Lows, it’s an instant drop off. So I dealt with that for my whole life until 2008 when I finally said enough is enough and. And I hurt a lot of loved ones in the process. so if anybody might be reading this and struggling with mental illness of any sort, please know that there is help and don’t prolong it! Sometimes finding the right combination of medicine and therapy can take time, but I promise you in the end you’ll feel so much better and probably ask yourself, like I do, why did I wait so long?! See, there’s the ADHD!!! Bouncing all over the place lol and yes, I take medicine for it too. I do have a tendency to go from topic to topic, but I do find it easier to get back on track and it is easily distracted. I like to share my experiences, hoping it will help somebody else. I’m just glad that mental illness is finally talked about like it is because back in the 80s. It wasn’t. I suffered a lot because of it. Anyways, I also wanted to mention that I’ve got three grandsons, but two of them, one in particular, really really love coming over and creating with me. One time we were trying to think of something to make for momma. They have a little dog so the three of us together decided to make a couple of piles of poo!!!! 😂😂😂😂 but when she came to pick them up, the “poo” was still in the oven 😂😂 I asked her if she could wait just a few more minutes because we had creations in the oven. So when I brought them out to them, I had them in a bag and handed them the bags without her seeing . And I didn’t want to tell her what we had done because the idea was that they were going to hide it and then bring it out sometime and trick mommy into thinking the dog messed in the house. Well, Cameron, the oldest, picked the wrong time. Mom was upset about something and, that’s when Cameron decided to pull the trick on her. So I guess she thought it was funny and it did get her! 😂😂😂😂 it’s so fun to have grandchildren. I had two daughters and my daughters had boys. So I’m really hoping I will get a granddaughter eventually! They are 11, nine, and three. All of them are the love of my life.

Thanks for sharing! Well, I usually get inspired looking at Pinterest. For example colour combinations. I might draw my idea in my sketchbook and go on from there, I don't plan anything in detail. Crafting should be fun and relaxing😊

@ i love Pinterest!!! Once I get on, I’m usually on there for quite a while lol kind of like when you get on UA-cam to look something up, you end up going down a rabbit hole at least that’s what I do. Especially if I’m looking up a story about true crime or whatever. I love learning about true crime, but on the flipside it upsets me because I don’t like seeing or hearing of people being hurt. Especially when it’s torture. So I’m not really sure how or why I got started on that particular subject. My mother was really into it For many years, but there towards the end of her life, especially after she started having grandkids and great grandkids she stopped watching it, particularly when children are involved. But I think a lot of it for me is the forensic science behind. I like science in general and particularly human biology. And it just blows my mind in a lot of ways and how far we’ve come when it comes to forensic science. I often say I’m 50 years old and I still don’t know what I wanna do with my life lol as in a career. I wish I could, make my career. But I don’t know that I could ever make enough because as we all know as artists most of the time people are not willing to pay something would cost for our time supplies and expertise in whatever field it may be. I know I’m all over the place. I have ADHD, so I have a brain that is constantly going so one thing will remind me of one thing and then it snowballs. 🤷‍♀️ I may have already mentioned that in my other comment😂 I am on UA-cam a lot and I make a lot of comments on lots of different types of videos. Right now I am unemployed other than doing DoorDash part time, but mostly living off of inheritance. They both passed away in 2021 and I was their caregiver from May 2016 until they passed. They both passed away at home in their beds, but I was there and saw it all so my depression was at an all-time high or low depending on how you want to refer to it. Basically, the first two years I spent in bed crying my eyes out, wishing it was just a nightmare. Those two years are pretty much a blank for me. I had already started investigating polymer clay and watching lots of videos so I would do a little bit of that and some other types of art stuff. So that did bring me some comfort in creating. And I’m sorry if I’m over sharing for some people. I just like to talk about it because it helps me to feel better, but also if my story can help make somebody else feeling better knowing that they’re not alone, then it’s worth it. At least IMO. But to also get help for any mental illnesses, you might suffer from because I also have bipolar and anxiety. Which all are treated with medication and therapy, but the depression is the one I still can’t seem to find the right combination of medicines to help me. I know a lot of people out there suffer from lots of different things, but I know depression is a big one. Especially. When Covid kept us all indoors and away from other people.
